Tough question. I think it will be a toss between american and european. I want to really try out the ferrari or aston martin so right now leaning more towards euro.

How are you going to buy an aston or ferrari with the small amount of credits you get at the start?

but it has twin turbo (stock), something a intrepid or deville does not have

K, and it weighs a ton, well two tons, actually. It's easier to add power than take away weight.

we WERE talking about first cars right? so in the beginning, i dont think you can add that much power to a car.. so i was just saying that a twin turbo as a first car isnt bad.. :dunce:

OT, so you're the one who took calcifer on PSN. Damn you.

Everyone seems to want my name! There are several people who contacted me about it on PSN (one even named himself Calsjifer) and at least 2 people here on GTPlanet wanted it (Check the visitors message on my profile page)

Too late people, it's been taken since 2006

You don't know much about cars, or anything besides Pokemon, do you?

If you can buy one with starting credits then go for it. Then watch as you get beaten by cars with much much less power. But as everyone knows, twin turbo = auto win.

10,000cr most likely. GT2 had 10,000, gt3 had 18,000 and gt4 had 10,000. However if what Amar suggested is true, that you never have to touch a standard car to bea the game, it might be more to purchase a cheap premium.
I don't see why the game wouldn't have premiums in the used car lot - for example, we already know the FC RX-7 (a typical starting car) is premium.

I'm not sure. We know in previous GT games you could buy even older cars from dealers. It would make sense if even the old, cheap premiums were sold from their respective dealers and not the used lot. It makes sense the other way as well but hey, if Amar hints at something, it's like a hint from God.

Actually 3700 lbs:) Pretty fast in a straight line, but yeah a bit of a pig in the turns. I am sure that he could beat an mx-5 with it though. Kind of doubt it will be cheap enough to be a first car however.

Since we'll be able to transfer cars from prologue I think my starter car would be the Integra and if a bit more power is needed the '91 NSX

transfer to arcade mode not GT mode from what we've been told

Oooooh.
Well guess I'll do what I did in previous GTs, Supra MkIII/Celica GT4/Skyline. Either one of those, but for a real challenge hopefully, I'll get a Sprinter Trueno

thanks for proving my point. Is the CLK63 a trim level of your corolla ?

I'll probably start off with something like a Ford Focus RS or Ford Focus ST. I friggin' LOVED that thing in GT5P whichever model it was lol. It was quick and handeled SO WELL.

It was the ST, and i agree, it was very good :D. I really hope the Focus RS makes premium in GT5 as i'd LOVE to drive it!

haha you are a funny guy :)

And you're pretty annoying.
I'm really curious. Cause I used to own a 2003 Cobra which automatically gave me knowledge about about every car in the world. Does your toyota corolla LE CLK63 do the same for you? It must've since you know that fancy wiper blades reduce your drag and make your car go so much faster.

Probably been stated, but if Standard and Premiums are kept apart in GT mode, then the choices of starter car may well be pretty arbitrary.

They aren't going to be kept apart!

Think about it.

We are up to 12 votes for an american car. I still find that interesting. Whats a good American starter anyway?

I leased a bare bones cobalt 05 (I didn't even get the spoiler just extra weight). Great car. I didn't want to splurge on the SS SC model because they just make you pay off all the extras in your lease payments early. It's less than half the price for a bare bones car vs SS SC in payments where the price diff is 15k to 25k or so.

IMO If they would sell used cars at the dealers I think they will be out of beginners budget, have low milage and are specials of the brand. Like Toyota 2000 GT, Subaru 22B, BMW M3 E30.
