I know there is an issue with drifting the RZ supra, some say its just plain overpowered and will spin the tires in most gears. Maybe the SZ-R is better suited for drifting, even if it is a little underpowered in stock form? What do you guys think?

hmmm true, i shall have to test that theory out, but cant a fear gear ratio changes fix that problem?

I now have three 97' Supra RZ's, and havent driven any of them.

I just bought a 97' Toyota Supra in Red, with something like 40,000KM's on it for a reasonably $36,000. I added Stage 4, and I'm at around 700HP, but I think it need's softer tires, I've got zero grip.

WOW, i don't think u need that much hp to drift it..... try lowering the HP of the car to solve the spinning problem, not putting stickier tires on it, that's what i always do. I rarely ever have over 350-400 hp, it's just not needed IMO.

Yeah, I just drove one of my Supras for the first time and it has a sufficient amount of power to drift, stock.

I'm still hunting for a Supra RZ or ever an SZ-R. I started using the RZ today in arcade mode learning how to drift and it's really fun and now I can find the car in gt mode.

Actually, racing back then, they were always practically drifting. Go look at the "Cigar Tube Racers" and you'll see what I mean. And BTW, I was being a know-it-all.

hahhaa you got me there, but i am going to test out a new theory this sunday. i am gonna have a friend push me from behind while going down hill and try to drift. its crazy, its crazy enough that it just might work.

I did that with my friend in GT3 back in the day, he pushed me (in a mini cooper) with the Escudo. We got going 200+, i can't remember the exact MPH but it was hilarious. There was no drifting involved though. so GL!!!

I bet it does I still remember a drift vid. of some japanese site where a blue Supra was drifting in GT4, gold-like rims, now I don't usually care about.....RIMS.......but I WANT THOSE!!
