To give a short summary:
- AI at 95%
- AI is quite aggressive and uses every little opportunity to overtake you; sometimes they just crash into you
- probably no pit crew for release, will likely come as post release patch
- Formula A cars are very fragile (in a positive sense)
- not every detail of Formula 1 is simulated (not necessary to use both soft and hard compounds, DRS and KERS isn't lifelike to 100%, ...)
- in his opinion, Formula A is a little bit too easy to drive
And then he spun out a bunch of times in 10 laps... :)

Wish I understood German,he seems to be a very good driver. He has some good clean driving video's.

Yes, he he admitted that he had some problems with downshifting. :sly:

He is basically saying that it is easy to go out there and do some quick laps without much experience or practice.

As a huge F1 fan and open wheel being one of the things I was looking forward to most I can honestly say I'm VERY disappointed by the DRS and KERS systems not working properly. HUGE turnoff and is having me second guess getting the game. Most people won't care or will think it's just a minor detail, but to me it's not. This is supposed to be "realistic" correct? DRS open around an entire lap during a race is anything but. What a letdown.

There are those things called patches!
Its not out yet.I hope your not buying the game for 1 car?

IIRC Forza 5 does the same, doesnt it? Regardless, in your case. Guess your only hope is F1 2015 then.

It is a major let down if you're an open wheel fan. If it isn't corrected I probably won't drive the cars at all. I can't see it being that difficult to fix so hopefully it's in the day 1 patch.

Well considering everyone is in the same boat racing, not a big deal. So I hope they have the push to pass button 10 times in Indy car. Stupidity that cars have it anyway. The only reason they are on those cars is for the fans.

From a competition standpoint no, it's not a big deal, everyone is the same. But from a simulation standpoint yes. It's a major simulation element of that particular car and if it's not accurate I don't want to drive it, especially if the inaccuracy is arcadish. For me sim racing involves a whole new mindset. I only want to use the cars the way they were designed to be driven in real life. If a car is stick with no synchro's, I heel and toe. If the car has paddles I use paddles.

Maybe it's just me though:sly:

I agree, but at the end of the day, it's not a game changer. They raced without the crap for years in F1 and Indy Car. Probably the reason the numbers of pants in the seats are low in both series,Indy is a shadow of its self since the CART split, and F1 is a money pit with stuff that won't ever be seen on a car.

Could someone please explain what DRS and KERS are? I think I know what KERS is but no idea about DRS, thank you in advance.

How is F1 a money pit and you know regenerative braking and exhaust gas hybrid systems have been around for a while now.

DRS = Drag Reduction System (adjusting the wing to give less drag and downforce, so the car can go a bit faster)

KERS = Kinetic Energy Recovery System (storing energy from braking to be used to boost acceleration later)

F1 cars and development are huge costs. Hell if you took all budgets of all the F1 teams you could probably solve some small countries debt problems:D Yes exhaust gas hybrids are on what cars? Bernie is a rich man amongst other things,he is not stupid,he wants changes and so do the teams.

No actually 20".
You do know they wanted to cap each team at $200 million Euros this year. Go figure it out. Google it yourself. If they took the budget of all teams Detroit would be out of debt.

I do find it amusing how people want money caps on cars that are the most advanced in terms of aerodynamics, chassis design, and ice's. While WEC has an edge on hybrids systems albeit with a much more open rule book.

Yes true, but back in the day "Motor racing" advancements and technology made it to everyday cars. Not so much today.

I agree times have changed but if technology keeps up this rate of development you never know, we might take cars straight from the dealership to a track one day.

Active aero, regenerative braking, advancements in hybrid technology and efficiency, turbocharger developments, the efficiency of smaller capacity engines, etc, etc.

You obviously don't enjoy modern motor racing, but that doesn't mean you need to go on a narrow-minded bash fest.

Well there is quite a few actually, just need some good rubber and it depends how fast you wanna go.

Not being narrow minded. Bashing what, facts! Actually I think most forums of modern racing are actually quite boring now. Numbers speak, fans are down, so its not just me. Yes technology is great, there was just better racing years ago.

There're even titanium plates bolted to the bottom of the F1 cars now to artificially create sparks from the good 'ol days.

Anyway, back to vids:
