It's raining

That hasn't happened since like June. I just hope we don't get lightning and have it spark a wildfire.

You folks in along and East of the Rockies are going straight into winter. Hope ya’ll actually get a fall. Stay warm and safe with all that snow.

At least you have AC! (Probably)

Parts of the bay area have hit 113 degrees this weekend...with a 60 degree dew point.

Also threats of rolling black outs so even if you are lucky enough to have AC, you shouldn't use it.
Also incredibly high amounts of PM2.5 wildfire smoke so you can't open your windows to ventilate
Also, still, COVID so you can't go anywhere that has AC

Ugh. Worst labor day ever.

I like to call this little beauty "🤬 the colour blind"

Right now it's so smoky I can't even see the mountains thanks to dumbass people who wanted to blow up fireworks for a gender reveal party in California. But it should clear out tonight when we get 75mph winds and drops the temps into the 30s. Mountains are looking at upwards of 10-inches of snow and Utah's Weather Service has been telling people up there camping to get off the mountain since it will quickly turn unsafe.

We had winds near 100mph last night and it's still gusty this morning. Semi-trucks are actually being restricted from driving right now because so many are blowing over. The news called it an inland hurricane, although it's not a derecho.

Is smoke weather now? I feel like it kinda is around here. AQI is in the "choke on it" range.

edit: Looked at some satellite images from the last few days. It's quite something...

AQI is better than yesterday’s number of 333. Worst air in the world. View attachment 957091View attachment 957092

Hopefully this ends sooner rather than later. I haven't seen the sky in a week.

I've never seen anything like this

The entire coast from Mexico to Canada (plus a lot of Mexico & Canada). There aren't even pockets of better quality air. It's just a continuous cloud of smoke.

edit: From wednesday
