Here is the fun we are having.

Denver is forecast to crush the old record for consecutive days with highs in the 90s or better over the next several days. Highs will stay in the mid to upper 90s through the weekend, possibly reaching 100 degrees officially at Denver International Airport on Sunday.

Wednesday will most likely be the 18th straight day with highs of 90 or better in Denver. The rest of the forecast calls for sunny skies early, a high in the mid 90s, and a slight chance of an afternoon gusty thunderstorm.

The previous record of 18 consecutive days with highs in the 90s was set in 1874 and matched again in 1901. Both stretches came in July both of those years.

The heat is turned up a notch or two for the rest of the week with highs forecast at 98 on Thursday, 99 on Friday and Saturday, and 100 on Sunday.

There will be slight 10 percent chance of an afternoon thunderstorm most of those days.

During July, Denver has recorded .24 inches of precipitation, which makes it the 3rd driest July on record behind .01-1901, .08-1939. The 4th driest July was .31-1917.

In 2008, Denver has received 3.28 inches of precipitation, which is 6.90 inches below normal. When you compare it to the driest year on record 2002, 2008 has been drier up to this point than 2002 by more than 2 inches.

It rained all day yesterday. That was completely awesome. Especially since we hadn't had much of anything for the last couple weeks. It started to clear today with broken clouds, and it'll probably be back to 80 or so tomorrow.

I'm surprised it hasn't been over 90 much at all this summer. Although it still isn't August yet.

Thanks to global warming, this has probably been the coolest July here in my entire life. Lovin’ it! Need to burn more fuel, increase my carbon footprint…

Yep. It looks like we got our heat wave early this year, and I hope that's it. It's been under 95 for the past several weeks, and some days have been under 90. Unheard of around these parts for this time of year.

So much more comfortable than the last two summers. We don't run the AC at night. Last two years, the AC couldn't keep us below 80 in the house! All those reports about the low activity from the Sun were spot on. Pun not intended.

Gotta say we really have been blessed, spared, and had mercy on for the most part this summer. I mean 70's and 80's for most of the summer so far? Unheard of for a long time. I few 90's and so, but for a short period. I think maybe having most of Kalifornya on fire helped? :dopey:

Man, are you in Winter over there? We had the coldest overnight temperature in history the other night, 2.4C.

Ouch. Our overnights have been 7-8 degrees, but there's nothing to whine about when you have heaters :D. It was actually warm enough last night for me to go walking... at 1.30am... I couldn't sleep again :indiff:

Yeah, it apparently snowed in a town an hour's north of us, (the town is actually called Snowtown, even though it's never snowed there until now ) we were almost going to go for a drive up there, but an hour's drive? Not quite. :indiff: If it did snow up there though, we're probably not too far off snow. I live on the coast but i go to school inland so that would be fun. :D

Another 90 and humid day, quite unpleasant outside. Pretty hazy as well with some minor cloud cover. It's even in the 70's at night so you can't even shut the A/C off and have the windows open to sleep.

Okay, it's nearly August and this is the weather forecast...

Wooo! Summer, ******* Yeah!

 You lucky mother...it has to be winter for us, of course :indiff: I went for another night walk, and it was COLD!!! Never imagined it being so cold! 🤬

Maybe a few degrees colder, but I grew up in a warm part of my state... which makes anything winter very very cold...

It rained all afternoon and night here. I haven't seen 55 degrees and rain since probably christmas break, so this was a real treat. The right foot was pretty pleased as well.

Ugh. I'm heading back into that mess in a couple weeks, after a very pleasant summer here.

Wooo! Summer, ******* Yeah!

Shouldn't you be used to that by now living in the UK?

I went for a walk down the beach a couple of weeks ago, it was 8C, i was wearing a jacket and still cold...

Oh come on, what's "cold" in Aus? 10C?

Yes, that is freezing, i wear a coat at that temperature, doesn't normally get a lot colder than that here.

Think of it this way, in as little as two months we could have snow showers. September is always hit or miss in how it plays out, could either be really nice and warm, unbelievably hot, or just cold.

Bah 10C is not all that cold.

[unnecessary rant] Where are you from?? Queensland, land of the warm sun?? Going to jump in a pool while we sit in front of our heaters, praying to god the heating bill won't be large?? Today was again AWFUL in Melbourne. I didn't go outside during lunchtime. And then, after school, wouldn't you believe my luck, while I was walking home (I didn't take the bus for once) it starts raining!! Goddammit!!!

-So yeah, thats my news...

The exact same thing happened to me today. As I left school it started pouring. Lucky for me, my friend gave me a lift. :)

Haha i can't wait til i can drive... i was at Tafe today and most of the people there are on their P's.

Well, weather-wise, it's 11C outside right now, sitting here nice and warm in front of the heater... i hope it doesn't rain when i'm playing footy tomorrow... :nervous:

Last week was horrible, I had to play soccer in the wet pitch with mud everywhere. The relentless pour of rain didn't help either.

Hey you guys we are still in the middle of a drought lets be thankful we are actualy getting some rain for a change even if it is freaking cold.

Yeah, i am grateful, it's dry and sunny now though, almost warm too.

Coming back from Swindon, it was almost incessant lightning after we re-started after we had some dinner (Sea Bass in a country pub)

Temps are still in the high 80's with about 95% humidity. It stormed this morning pretty hard and is supposed to storm again tomorrow. The weekend looks great though, high 70's and sunny.

We're sitting at 85 today... They said a high of 90, but I don't know if that happened. And we had that nifty thin cloud layer that makes things more humid. It wasn't fun today.

We had a pretty big rainstorm go through here yesterday. It was the heaviest rain I'd seen here in a while. Needless to say, it's pretty scary when you're going freeway speed and all of a sudden you can't see anything other than the brake lights of the car in front of you.
