No, the good aircon is in the other house. And we do have an A/C actually, it's just quite noisy and annoying. :)

Apparently it's illegal to use the horn unnecessarily, most of us still do it though... we beeped at the front of houses with good Christmas lights. :sly:

About the weather, let's just say sweat was literally dripping from me when i was sitting in the car when mum was shopping... :crazy: meant to be this warm again tomorrow and Christmas too. :indiff:
 
Mother nature finally gave us a break last night. I got home from work and our roads were also finally plowed. So I plowed my driveway and when I woke up this morning there was no new snow at all for the first time in several days. Today we are supposed to get another 3-5 then tonight 3-5. Thats not too bad at all. Sounds like once we survive today we are finally free and clear for a while.
 
I didn't even know we were supposed to get more snow, but low and behold, I opened up my garage door and was greeted with 8" of the fluffy stuff this morning. I said screw it and blasted it with the Civic. Good thing I always back in!
 
Right now, its 18F, with a chill making it feel like 6F, with a 65% humidity. i hate the cold... yet im moving (knock on wood) to Alaska. hmm
 
Snowing pretty hard here, they said 1" today but there is already at least 2" on the ground. They are also saying 2-4" tonight but there is no storm in the area. I have a feeling them meant 2-4" today. I'm so sick of winter weather it's not even funny.
 
Wooh relatives coming over from Tasmania for Christmas, can't wait! Pretty warm though, 30C at the moment...
 
Glad yesterday is over. We ended up with another 5-6 inches and of course the roads were brutal. After leaving work there was a semi truck that got stuck trying to back up into the road. So he ended up blocking traffic from both directions. So I just said heck with it and did a donut in the road and went the other way.

Today it is already 33 degrees and everything is starting to melt.

Here are some pics I took last night AFTER I already plowed and shoveled.

We 3-5 last night and probably 2-3 yesterday which means the NOAA is full of it since they said 3" total at most...Fail. I am also extremely disappointed in the way Oakland County clears the roads. They feel the need to not bother with doing anything all day while it was snowing and at night just put sand on the snow. Sand does nothing except turn the snow into pudding.

This morning though it's almost 40 and raining steadily. It's also quite foggy so I got to be cheeky and use my rear fog lamp. The road OK now, just really slushy from all the rain.
 
39 degrees and raining. Clears out the 8" of snow we had on the ground, but just a dreary day all around.

You should have tried driving home after dark with the cold front (ie, big winds) moving in. Everything was a sheet of ice up here, the road commission apparently taking a break not only because of the warm temperatures, but also Christmas as well.

Fail all around for the Kent County and Grand Rapids road commissions.
 
We're shooting for a high of 21F today but as usual, that 17mph wind will put a damper on the outside fun. We might still brave it for a spell, though. :D

Ya we had similar conditions here last night. I was driving home from church (I know, odd right?) and the wind was awful. We actually lost power around 10pm and it was off till about 5 this morning. At least the wind blew the water around enough to prevent any major freezing.
 
Entire county was iced over this morning. It was, um, really fun tying to get anywhere, even on foot. Of course, it's supposed to storm here tomorrow, with mid 50's for a high. I'm confused about the weather patterns here...
 
Did someone turn the clocks ahead a few months? It currently 31° F with only a 6mph wind! It's actually melting!

I went outside this morning bundled up, it was like 37 outside so I wen't back inside and took a layer off. Gotta love Minnesota weather.

And why wouldn't I? I've seen some bizarre weather myself (I mean, this is Michigan we're talking about here), but I haven't seen a temperature change this extreme in a while. :boggled:

Really? I remember last winter we had days that went from 30 to 60.

That sounds like typical Michigan weather, it was 82 yesterday and today it was only 60 with temps dropping to 39 tonight. We need rain though, I want my lawn to start looking good.

I just went back and looked a some graphs of daily temperatures, and we only had about six days when any large temperature changes (large being a change in highs more than 10 degrees) happened from November to March. Don't ask me why you got it, but apparently we didn't.

I thought the general assumption was: Michigan is going to get some kind of weather, for accurate data, look out the window.

As for here, it's going to be quite the opposite. It's looking like we're back to typical Seattle winter weather with a high of 46 and a low of 42. Every day.
 
So snow isn't the norm for a Seattle winter? I mean I was considering moving there and everything but I want to get away from snow not move to it.
 
Snow is pretty rare here. In one day we got probably double the average amount of snow for a year. And that happened four times. I guess it's becoming more common, but the only snow storms I remember here were 1996 where we got like a foot probably and two years ago when we got like 3 inches. Hopefully we don't see this a lot because it basically makes two of the three cars in the family undrivable. And the whole city stops when it happens because the hills make it rather difficult to get around...
