Today I freaked the hell out of me. I woke up at about 6 a.m. with the sound of some thunder, nothing too much, just some thunder noise every now and then. They were not too close either, with a gap of 10 to 20 seconds between the light emitted by the lightning and the sound of it.

30 minutes of this and I was pretty annoyed that I had woke up for such a weak storm. The time gap from what appeared to be the last of them was of 40 seconds, it was over, I though. I was preparing to close my eyes and sleep a little bit more (it was 6.30 in the morning) and BAM!, out of nowhere a lightning strikes very close to my residential area, as the time gap between the lightning and the sound was close to none. I almost jumped of the bed, my parents woke up, I could only hear alarms on the street. A stronger storm had arisen, lots of thunder, two more close ones, it was insane (well for this part of the world, where the frequency of storms is about 5 out of 365).

What freaked me the most was the close ones, especially without rain, it seemed like something exploding in the sky, the noise was very white and dry, very different from what I ever heard in a thunder storm.

The only time I heard a close one, was (if I am not mistaken) at Christmas eve, 2002, at about 2 minutes for midnight. I’ll never forget that Christmas, a stormed that longed for 3 days…on Christmas…

Now, it’s a sunny afternoon, no clouds, no sign of a storm to ever had arisen. Just crazy :scared:

Well my weather gadget reads 64 right now and with the fog and humidity we have, I must say that it actually feels pretty perfect right now. Finally some decent weather here.

Even for mild Seattle that's strange. I think that's borderline sad...

We harldy get enough rain for a thunderstorm. We usually only get around 200-300mm a year. (8-12 inches, which s what you probably get in a day) :indiff:

Bah, sun. It's currently 80 degrees here with 50% humidity. Frisbee practice tonight should be miserable again. And there is zero precipitation in the forecast now.

Is it bad that I find long periods of sun depressing and long periods of drizzle exciting?

I'm a little surprised that anybody would live in a climate like that. I know I'm a little strange for not liking warm weather, but wanting to move somewhere where it's above 90 every day of the year with no rain just doesn't add up to me.

29C today, fairly warm for early spring, but it was nice to finally feel some warmth after winter. :) Freezing again tonight though.

Well i think there is dryer climates than here, but it does cool down a bit in the winter. Maximun is usually around 20C, summer it's about 35C at a guess.

Pretty nice weekend, in the mid to high 70's with not a cloud in the sky. It's getting back hot again, looking at 85ish tomorrow with no rain in sight.

It's cold in here! Had to shut off the AC for once in a long while. But, not for too long. It's going to get hot as Satan's piss by the end of the week.

Pretty awesome weather today, high of about 68 and not a cloud in the sky. Looks like we are starting the nice time of autumn weather.

It was very warm today, but not 'hot.' It will be hot as hell tomorrow, though.

Today was awesome weather. Mid 80's, no clouds, blue skies but with just a little bit of haze. Too bad my allergies prevented me from completely enjoying the outdoors.

But tomorrow, it's a different story. It will be nearly 100, with the following days reaching 100 and over! Bleh.

Short of the haze, that's exactly what it was here, too.

Tomorrow will be more of the same. Guess I better bring extra Gatorade during my son's soccer practice so he doesn't get dried out.

Yeah, it was pretty nice today. But I'm still waiting to see some decent rain sometime.

Don't worry so am I, it's really dry and that's not good. The lawn it burning up pretty good.

We were having almost tropical weather recently, warm weather and rain, which is unusual because this is area has more temperate weather. :odd:

I live in the more temperate part of the country. Darwin and the like get over 30C almost every day. Some areas get less than 100mm a year i believe. :ill:

We've had a few days here lately that have been in the low 30C's. I'm scared for what summer will be like... :nervous:

Burrrrrrr....it's 45 out right now and not a cloud in the sky. This weekend is supposed to be real nice though, highs in the mid 70's and sun.

The weather here in Colorado has been rather boring until today. Yesterday we had a high of 85 yet currently it is a nice 41 with a steady rain. Quite a change in 12 hours.

It was cold, then it rained, then it got sunny, then it got obscenely humid and sort of warm, now it's cloudy and still humid and warm with about a 30 second shower every 10 minutes or so followed by periods of sun. It's really really odd but it's pretty typical Michigan weather. Supposed to be 80 and sunny tomorrow though.

I'm glad we got rain, we needed it badly.

That's pretty strange considering that our weather has been really consistent today. It rained very early in the morning, then was warm and humid for a bit and has now cooled off and dried out a bit.

Strange that the weather today has made me feel more at home than I really ever felt in Seattle over summer. I also found out that rain is great for waking me up. One of my apartment mates announced that it was raining outside and I instantly went from a very groggy stumble to jumping around the place.

I'm seeing red!!!!! But that's because Sydney is blanketed by a massive dust storm. Damn I just got my car back from service last night all sparkly and new looking too. Apart from that the temps are a decent low 20c

Here is a shot from my phone

WOW...That's crazy right there.

On my end of the world, we might see our first flakes of the season tonight. woot

Tonight - Rain likely in the evening...mixing with or changing to snow after midnight. Snow accumulation up to 2 inches on grassy areas. Lows in the mid 30s. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph in the evening becoming light.

Dust storm in Sydney, snow in Colorado (in Sept.) and 80°F in ND. Has the Earth's 23.5° tilt shifted and they didn't tell anyone?

RAIN! We're having a little storm coming through here right now with some pretty heavy bands or rain. Plus, we may be seeing thunder soon. Hella exciting!
