Tuesday we had 56 f degrees with thunderstorms, rain, and flooding. Today it is 19f degrees with -20f wind chill and expected 10"-12" inches of snow over the next couple days. Brutal weather for traveling.

Ya, the west side of the state is ridiculous. I can't believe how different it is from the east side. I'm only 140 miles or so from where I used to live and the difference the lake makes is amazing.

Windchill Warning for Today-Tomorrow.
Windchill as low as -40C,
Currently -6/-21C WC, -42F/-41C, Winds gusting near 40 mph out of the NW. Some blowing of what was left of the snow. Schools are closed but College is open (go figure :p)

I've lived somewhere in Texas my entire life, and most of it in South Texas. I do not recall ever having such an extended period of mild weather as we've had this year from the middle of January, and as forecast for the early part of February.

We did have some typical winter weather (Highs in the low 50°F range/Lows in the low 30°F range) from the middle of December through the early part of January, but as of now, we have not yet turned on our central heating unit during this 'winter' season. Very unusually warm weather for this time of year, even for us down here in South Texas.

This week has been pretty good on the whole. Mid teens during the day time which has made my heavy overcoat pretty redundant.

64 degrees yesterday .... 24 degrees and 2 inches of snow today / tonight. What the ....

It's currently -10F with a -31F wind chill. There is a possibility we will get above 0 tomorrow, safe to say I'm not going outside unless I have to.

My wife woke me up early to tell me I need to get ready early or plan to be late for work, so I looked at my phone to see the weather.

Once I got dressed I went out to start my car so it could warm up/thaw out.

And when I came back in the local news was showing wind chills.

The drive was slow. It's too cold for regular salt to be effective and so only the main highways are decent. They were even putting out warnings to stay off the roads. I made it to work on time.

Yes huge difference from west side of the state to east side. The lake makes for some really crazy weather. We get a lot more snow. I dont mind snow, I just hate the bitter cold. In fact the lake actually keeps us warmer in the winter than the east side. So I am thankful for that.

Our expected 10"-12" yesterday ended up only being 4". Still very cold and still snowing. So the snow fall will vary quite a bit being right by the lake. The high for today is 14f. Wind chills down to -22f. Typical February weather. In fact I am sure it will get even colder. Happens every year at this time. Then once we pass February, March comes and it all starts to warm up again. So 1 month to go until the warm weather starts making its way back again. :)

I'm no stranger to winter, especially the cold. For some reason, though, I am really tired of this winter, and it hasn't been all that bad. Just tired of the snow and lack of sun.

For the past 3 days or so, it has been raining non stop. And now it is sunny outside with a couple of grey clouds, but earlier on today there wasn't a single cloud in the sky  .

Perfect, 10 celsius in the morning and 20's at the afternoon, but temps will go down the next week :ouch:

Very cloudy. In fact, the entire sky is yellowish-gray color. No Sun whatsover. Lower temps compared the last few days. It's in the low 60's with a high around 67 today. Drab.

Yeah I can see the clouds coming now

Looks like Winter Storm Nemo is going to dump anywhere between 6-12" of snow. But of course since NYC and Boston supposed to get 6-12" they think it's the end of the world....amateurs.

Colder and cloudy. The Sun only came out at times and then not for very long. Grayish yellow skies. Tomorrow, we expect rain. It will last until late Friday. At least the weekend wont be shot to hell. But, it will be cold. Low 50's for the high and mid 30's for the lows. Not the kind of weather I was hoping for for an out of town friend's visit.

Heavy rain, heavier fog, filth, everywhere! At least the rain cleared some of the pollution away.

Not cold though, I managed to get out for a ride and got really soaked but stayed pleasantly warm with only shorts and a t shirt on. I remember seeing around 13, so not too bad.

9 Celsius at the moment, it was supposed to be raining at this moment, but instead it is very sunny :D

They say that it will rain in a few hours, but I see no clouds yet

Edit: aaaaand it's raining

Edit: It's raining harder, Temperature was stable all the day until now, 7 celsius and a windchill of 2

We ended up with about 12" of snow here last night, it's all going to melt Sunday when it rains, which is going to make the Grand River flood again.

Right now the sun is out and it's a pretty nice 32 degrees.

No one has posted anything for a couple of days. Anyway, it is now snowing outside again, but the snow doesn't seem to be settling on the ground yet. It is settling on cars and some other surfaces though.

EDIT: I can see that the snow is starting to settle on the ground, but only in a couple of places. I don't think the ground temperature as a whole is cold enough to have snow settling everywhere.
