In stark contrast to the end of January, it's currently 93°, feels like 97°.Another round of warming groceries in the freezer. High tomorrow is -9F, windchill of -35F. Low of -17F.
My God! The UK Government has raised the heatwave threat to level 3, yes LEVEL 3!!!!
Wut? Does anyone know exactly what that means? Perhaps not getting drunk and falling asleep outside is on there somewhere.![]()

So, I've spent the better part of a day avoiding downed trees and things; is anyone else having such problems? Has the power gone out, and you've had to resort to a mobile browser? Basements flooded? All of these have happened, worst windstorms in months, or years.
If your in the Niagra region of Canada and Western New York, it was a mess up here.
We peeked at 26-27°C here, today. It haven't rained in about a month I think, so it should soon be coming... hopefully.
Thereabouts, give about two hours or so... Well, 15 minutes by Concorde, I bet.![]()
I'm by Buffalo and it stormed literally for 9 hours straight here. It did not stop. Probably one of the longest storms I've ever witnessed in my life. The radar maxed out in severity of the storms several times.
We went through the same storm. In my area, though, there was not much rain; it all came down in about five minutes, horizontally, and soaked everything. I was in my garage. I couldn't hear the people talking beside me without yelling at the top of our lungs. I admit, I've never seen a storm like that.
Yeah it was weird, for like 4 hours it just thundered and put on a nasty lightning show. It would shower for like a minute then stop, and then around 10:30 or so that's when it really started to open up. That storm was something else. Some of the loudest booms I've ever heard. I was seriously waiting for a tornado. They said winds were up between 70-75mph or so, that's insane for New York. I mean you can see by the picture I posted that is was nasty. Those clouds were like that for hours. Never seen clouds that black with a light sky right next to it. Crazy.
Wanna borrow water from us? As I mentioned, we're flooded.![]()
If that can make it rain here, then alright.
Again, you got the same storm we did, but, later. This is accounting for travel times, we got the heavy rain and such at like 6 PM.
That cloud.![]()
