I'm going to take a wild stab and go with 1/6 being the update. If the whole New Years off thing is in effect, then I'm going to assume they take the weekend off as well. That means Monday when they return back to work, the patch should be out.

Though, I hope they stop working for so many long hours, the Japanese birth rate is declining too much.

Yea that is what im thinking. Either the beggining or end of next week. So just be patient folks. We will get it eventualy

Day 3 of the new year and no nothing hope the wait is worth the price money

Prize money is really good so far. Millions earned so far, at this rate, you could buy a 20m car within 1-3 days depending on skill level. So as long as they roll out some more seasonals, it is worth it, to me at least.

I think what PD meant to say where it says 1st January is 'Not before 1st January'.

One of my hobbies is watches, buying and selling and keeping some, and what some watch manufacturers say about their limited edition or limited stock when they have ran out and are waiting on more being made is 'available not before (date), available to preorder'.

Or someone at PD just made a genuine mistake. I actually was disappointed to see more Red Bull content. I didn't have the patience to get gold on the challenge on GT5 and it wasn't fun or relevant so I gave up quickly after I got bronze.

After doing the Goodwood Red Bull challenge I hoped that would be the last we would see of this nonsense.

Why impossible? Just takes practice :)
Practice and (for argument's sake) natural talent, extreme patience and good equipment.
Swimming the English Channel also takes practice :)

Also, they really should have just said This event begins January 6/7/31/Never etc. so we wouldn't all get our hopes up for it being there on New Years Day.

I have no tallent and managed to do them with a ds3 :)

All you need was to learn the car and tracks... Yeah I'm not going to lie and say it was easy... And infact it took me a very long time to finish those events and lots and lots of practice (mostly with the FGT) but it's worth it.

Also, gt6 is a lot eaiser than gt5 so I imagin the event will be a lot more forgiving :P

Damn it, if only those of us who were struggling with it had thought of that!!!
Yeah, it only took a couple hundred tries for me to gold Goodwood 5-3 with a DS3. These RedBull events should keep my attention for quite some time if that's the case.

Wow, if people found the Goodwood X2010 event hard I can't imagine what they thought about the Vettel challenge on GT5. You can cruise and still get gold with seconds to spare.

The Vettel challenge was unforgiving, just like it should be. Hopefully this one is too.

Yes, the others were very easy and a lot of fun. But this is the Fan RB. At least in GT5, the RB X events were virtually impossible for some, including me.

We'll have to wait and see.

At least the new RB 2014 cars will be available in the dealerships ;)

The X1 challenge was difficult in GT5 especially the Suzuka one, took me about an hour to get that time on there. Monza was pretty easy all my friends got the Monza time but only one managed to get even bronze on Suzuka.

That said the X1 was easy to get on GT5 even for the worst of drivers as all you had to do was achieve B-Spec level 30 and that was cake.

I would imagine the one in GT6 will be a bit easier but hopefully still a bit of a challenge for the average driver to get Bronze or better

I hope not. At the end of the day, it's just a fantasy car. I'd rather spend my time with any other car, or with an actual RedBullRacing F1 car.

I hope they will be races, just like it was for the Junior car.
I don't, having been grinding them out recently for money I have to say, the track selection is god awful. Non of the tracks really promote or allow over-taking.... The only reason you can over take is because the AI is so painfully slow... :/

I really hope they pick a better selection of tracks...

I was never able to get bronze in any of the Red Bull X Challenges in GT5, I tried the first one for about 2 hours, then just left it alone after that. Goodwood 5-3 with the X2010 was much, much easier for me at least, and while it may have taken me dozens of attempts to keep the bloody thing on that ridiculously narrow road without hitting the haystack with the front left corner of the car, it was easy to get gold from there. The main trick being to go through every corner 1 or 2 gears higher than suggested, and to very gently bump the wall to straighten yourself out halfway through.
Based on the relative ease of license tests so far, I'm suspecting the Gold times for this year's X challenges to be easier than Bronze in GT5
I hope they will be races, just like it was for the Junior car.
I'm pretty confident that the event on the bottom left for the standard is going to be a race series and the final one on the right with Vettel on it will be time trials.

I liked the vettel early on when the only way you get the prototype was it was to gold the event so if you saw one online you knew people earned it. Also for a short while before people knew about the level 30 b spec vettel red bull.

Yeah, and I liked my stealth cars when they were still exclusive. But what can you do? They've got to be shared around some time.

Yea but it ruins the fun aspects of earning cars you cant otherwise buy that were there in gt5. Theres no sense of awe or the will to get a car yourself when you see something rare other people have because you know its in the dealership. Prize cars? What prize cars they are now just a way to save credits nothing else. And with the money glitch that existed they are pointless.

As bad as UCD was in gt5 the aspect of looking out for a rare car was exciting and rewarding.

And the reason gt6 is the way it is has nothing to do with cars "having to be shared around some time". You can bet your ass its all down to purchasable credits. They wanted to give people the most incentive possible to buy credits with real world money, and thats the only reason all cars are available to buy by anyone and thats why trading is dead. People who dont think purchasable credits had an effect on gt6 are naive.

You have a point. But I think the main reason was inflating the car list to get it up to 1200. Why else would they pull out the Hyundai Click Type-R and the Type C Streamliner again? In addition to the few racemods becoming touring cars in their own right. And the base models, don't forget those. I'm still happy with the game though.

Anyway, we're getting very off topic, we should be carefully avoiding whingeing about the X2014 Standard event not being here yet, and guessing what it will be like.

I have to disagree. All cars being available at all times is one of my favorite things about GT6. For me, finding a car I wanted in the UCD in GT5 was not rewarding or exciting. Instead, I was just releaved I no longer had to track down a car. I have more fun driving cars I like, not wasting my time hunting for them. There was a reason why people exploited the birthday tickets and the trading feature back in the early days of GT5. The UCD was terrible. I'm glad it's gone.

They have setup the redbull cars as a training process. It will allow almost everyine to handle the cars as they are stupidly fast. In gt4 i could do a 6'30 lap of the nurburgring with the audi r8 lmp with the help of n2o. The redbulk shoukd take off 2 mins off that

Impossible as in "I don't want to sit for hours repeating the event." I usually just do things once or twice and that's it. No point on getting gold when you don't earn nothing. That age when I was boastful and competitive is far gone. I prefer to spend my time buying cars, taking pictures of them or just doing hot laps.

That's absolutely your choice - I'm a firm believer that everyone pays their money and plays the way they like.

Still, a lot of people will say that practice makes... y'know... ;)
