I believe so. I would drop a lot of time if I could use VR. I get on the throttle much sooner.

Does it help that much? Cockpit view now feels so limited in what you can see, I guess being able to look around properly would make it a lot better eh?

And input lag is minimal in psvr vs many tv 30-100ms. I have few years old tv with 30-40ms inputlag, and its noticeable vs psvr. This is what causes on screen steering wheel moving a bit out of sync vs actual controller wheel and that same time your inputs are late. In psvr one cant recognise any delay on onscreen wheel nor input. I have tried this also by playing GTS in "theatre mode" with psvr.

Its huge difference even with the limited resolution. You see naturally behind pilars and other structures. The biggest difference is in Super Formula with the halo - onscreen its blocking your view but in vr you hardly notice it..

Depth perception increases dramatically. So tight city courses become much much easier to run close to the walls. Racing in VR would be a huge improvement as everyone’s situational awareness would increase.

Also one sees and reacts to camber and height differences on track a lot more. I have found some pretty funky slopes and cambers on for example suzuka i had no idea where there while driving on tv screen..

Dropped my RSR time down to 1:31.3xx, close to getting below 1:31. Might try the Vantage next.

Running in VR really helped me with T1 at Brands for that very reason. A lot of corners are blind in the game but not blind in real life, VR fixes that issue.

Spend a little time attempting to trim my time in the mazda this morning. This is the result ...
20190816_090830.jpg

*livery found not made*

My optimal was .060 so with a few hundred more laps i might be able to crack under a 1.01 I just cant seem to be perfect, alway mess up at least once....

Down to 1:31.101, it’s really the mid sector that’s killing me. I’m equal with the fasts RSR through sector 1 and the first half of sector 2, but then he puts a good chunk on me and holds it.

I’ve got the RSR really stable now though. Can do 1:31.3-5 non stop with ease.

EDIT: dying here, been hitting 1:31.1 non stop but can’t pull it together to get below 1:31. On the plus side I noticed I’m #42 overall, #3 with the RSR, and #1 in the USA overall. I’ll take it.

Pretty disappointed with this week's combo. Just second week and we're already back to a Daily B esque combo? C'mon PD, there's literally thousands of car/track combinations in the game that we have never even seen yet. Mazda @ Suzuka was also a Daily C a few weeks back (albeit the full track and different tyres, it's still pretty similar).

Is it actually wrong? This trick is used in Forza as well, to reduce the drag of the front and rear wings, increasing speed. You've got no chance of getting high up on the leaderboard for many speed cameras in FH4 if you don't do this.

In regards to the negative rake increasing top speed, I remember this from some time back

There are 2 ways a higher front height can help make you faster in GT. One is the wheelie trick, which I explained in the post quoted by splitwindow. However this effect is not so pronounced anymore since GT6. The second one (and the one which applies to the Civic here) is helping to reduce understeer. Normally high front causes MORE understeer but in GT land for some reason this has always been backwards at extreme settings. Many theories has been postulated as to why this is the case, but there has been no conclusions. We just know that it works. It's just laughable that such a bug in the physics system has gone unfixed for many many years. Just tells you how "accurate" of a sim GT is.

I am so pleased that TT is now in GTS.... fantastic!! My last online racing was at Red Bull Ring ages ago, did well at first, then saw it descending into a bumper-car-fest so called it a day. Was really fed up with getting hit and losing SR, and thinking I'd done well but losing the meagre DR I had too.... (I know, gitgud  ).
Decided to give TT a go this week (skipped first 2 weeks) and it is SO enjoyable! It's a joy seeing your ghost in the rear-view mirror and knowing you're not going to get rammed off at the next corner.

It really helps improve your racing too... while I am nowhere near the top (my best so far, which would embarrass many of you here for its slowness, is 1:34.6XX at Interlagos) I am chuffed to see that it is well inside what was needed for gold on Circuit Experience (1:39.00) in a Gr. 3.

So, thanks PD, for me this is a major, major improvement for the game as a whole! 👍👍👍

Messed about in the Gr.3 TT with the Porsche, managed a 32.2 may be able to sneak into the 31’s with some more effort...

The skills gap is huge right now, I am over 2 seconds off the lead time and still in the low 300’s ranking wise :o

This week, miata at suzuka sounded nice, found out that its on CS tyres??? Why? Oh why is this? Race car with road tyres.

Did test thou, had about 45min time and will not bother again

1:01.021 BB-5 (optimum was 1:00.91x)

Will try that Interlagos tomorrow, maybe.

After 300 laps and enough cursing to keep me, and any relatives, out of heaven for generations, I’m concretly stuck at 1:01:671.... do you give driving lessons?

Wow! Can't believe I just saw this, Time Trials again showing world rankings and it started two weeks ago.

Was getting so sick of the same old same old routine. And I see there is a race where you can tune up, apart from gears.

Oh joy, been waiting since GT6 for this. Only trouble is I have completely forgotten how to tune up, although I still have my note pads with tunes from GT6 although I doubt they will be usable.

No matter, we used to swap our tunes here in GT6 and I expect (hope) it is done here too.
Admit I have only glanced at the 1st page here before writing so likely there are some here already. Cheers everyone.

It's not even necessary to have the racing etiquette trophy unlocked to enter these.
Hey mate, back in business it seems, Hoo Haa!!!

Did you notice that I use small throttle input thru whole track? Even when braking?
It helps with the stability.
Also use cerbs, theres more traction.

I’ve always had more a off/on approach towards the throttle...

But I noticed you didn’t have so much wheelspin and was wondering about that - Thanx a heap!

As soon as the kids get of the PS4 I’m trying this!!

I can use your vid - I’m doing the exact same, only slower.....

:lol::lol: Classic.... that's exactly the way I feel.... watch a fast lap and think but that's what I do, brake in the same place, turn in at the same place, feather throttle at same place..... but still many seconds slower!!

Just tried the Mustang for the first time ever, no tuning, bog standard, and within 3 laps had dropped my time down to 1:34.1xx . Yowza! That puts me in the top 3,000 ;)

This is because you are losing tenths of seconds on every corner rather than big chunks of time on one corner. That time soon adds up over the length of the lap. ;)

Hey Mate it is good to see you No.1 on my friend lists . PD should have had online Time Trials at the released of the game, and then I would have stayed on this game.
I was good in GT6 days with Time Trials, but I can not that bring that good form in GT Sport as yet, but practise is the Key.

It is good to see @Stewyripper around .

Yep, great to see it back, and some old friends here as well, top stuff.

Currently doing the Gr3 race, got into low 1:32's with RC F GT3 EF '17 with some help from Praiano but have switched to the very popular Atenza, again with a (older) Praiano tune.

Now #207 with 1:31.872.

Improved to #164 with 1:31.751.

Where are all the tunes these days?

It's good to be back now PD have woken up. HAHA

I really don't have any motivation to improve my time. Like there is no reward as such. In Sport mode, you move up positions by improving the time but here i really dont see the incentive to improve my time apart from some bragging rights :P

Its about trying to reach your limits and enjoying the satisfaction when you know you've done your absolute best. If you don't like it that's ok, but no need for that kind of comments.
