I was a regular in GTP weekly series with GT3 & 4, have a bunch of good memories fighting on top with Hugo_the_boss and the other regulars under my nick “Monty”. To me this new TT is a GTP answer to those early days of online racing. Made it top 600 with the Civic last week, and 10-12 rounds with the Miata got me top 1200 this week. As a busy family guy that’s my best shot nowadays, but man if I had a whole day with the pad. I’d be climbing my cage. Race on y’all!!

Quick tune for interlagos. I did a top 50 with this one.
Same tune work on merc amg 16 , even with full aero.

The number of participants in this round has already broken the previous event record (12.800 - Nürburgring) and still 9 days to finish!
This time the Tuning event has more drivers:

Interlagos - 14.000 Players so far. (P1 kazunokota...1:29.983, Atenza)

Suzuka - 9.200 (P1 TRL_holl01....1:00.120)

I dislike when most jump on the bandwagon. Never see the Atenza anywhere. Now, it's a top choice.

Well, I've switched to Ford. Took 1 second off my Atenza time and I moved up 2100 places. Sitting at 1292 now.

Edit: Up another 340 places

If 'jumping on the bandwagon' describes using the car the fastest drivers use, then it seems a great many of us have done exactly that.

15 of the first 25 cars are Atenza's, including #1. There is a Ford there also, top 4 or 5, but only the one.

Fact is that certain cars perform better on certain tracks under certain conditions and the Atenza appears to be the 'certain' car in this race.

If one does not wish to use it just because it has been shown to be the fastest car, well that is up to them, but I applaud those who, like me, aim for the best time they can manage and use the car which has proved itself the best for most people on this track in this race.

Certainly working for me anyway, further improvement to #86 with 1:31.207 and currently #1 in Australia.

I wonder if some inspiration could be taken from the older GT Academy programs, where in a future iteration of Sport Mode, your performance is more based around time trials rather than races? Perhaps you'd have to get a certain time in a specialized time trial to qualify for each championship, rather than building DR in the Daily Races. AFAIK Formula 1 has (or had?) a rule where the slowest time could only differ from the top time by a certain percentage.

If you've set an eligible time, then the rest of the matchmaking algorithm could work accordingly in putting you with other players who have also set eligible times.

(I also think each championship should have its own separate ladder, with the daily races tab having its own ladder.)

The rule still exists in many racing series, I believe it sits at 105% ATM.
But given that quali and time trial are my biggest weaknesses I have to strongly oppose your suggestions :sly::sly:

Cool! Now I don't feel so bad about dropping out of the "top" 3,000 (and barely making it in the top 4,000.... last time I looked, likely that's changed already :) ). Where did that info come from? I wanted to check but the thought of scrolling through the rankings at 25 entries per page to as far back as I am and beyond filled me with dread...

There are other cars in that top 25. Maybe those people haven't achieved those particular cars' full potential. It might be faster and easier to use than the Atenza, but we might not know.

Can't remember exactly how strict track limits were in GT5/6... But, now the limits are way too forgiving & unclear.
There were some questionable techniques in GT6 (e-braking & money shifting which is still used), but don't recall anyone going 3-4 wheels beyond white lines.

Why don't they place cones or any stationary objects with instant DSQ, just like in GT6's Academy TT's.
Suzuka's last corner would need one & same with Interlagos' turns 2 & 8.

Well, let me ask you to say a bit more, then: what do you think makes qualifying/time trials your biggest weakness? I.e. how would you improve them? Do you mean to imply that you're much better at racing itself?

Precisely that, yes. I wouldn't think of blaming the game though, it's very much a player problem :banghead:
I.e. I have yet to get anywhere near the fast guys lap time wise, in FIA qualies I often fail to come close to my free practise times, consistency can be an issue, the list goes on...but all of these are my personal shortcomings. The only thing I'd might change about qualifying is to establish one single way of handling it like for instance giving dailies a timed quali session too.

Here is a comparison between my best lap in the Dodge vs my best lap in the Mazda at Interlagos.

I can go about one tenth faster in either, but nonetheless a roughly 9 tenth of a second gap between the two is absurd especially given that I am much more used to the Viper.

Heh, well you like to drive with those bad tyres?
To be honest, the MX-5 TC isn't that fun on CS -tyres, but i think it's more due to it's understeer rathen than being difficult to drive, & i doubt using RSS -tyres would make it any easier, perhaps the opposite. What if the 911 combo was on RSS... :scared:

Wonder what difference RSS -tyres would actually make: aliens dropping out from participating, or performing better/worse? New names in top 10?

But, i did misread your post: "give me TT with RSS", instead of "give one TT", right under the MX-5 video - Hence i assumed you wanted RSS -tyres for that particular TT event & humorously said what i said... :dunce:

I would like to see, how much good tyre will level the grid.
Or would it make no difference.

Thanks for that, gave me 4 tenths after just 4 laps [before I had to leave for work] and with a mistake on the last corner I know there's more in there.

PS. Could not get my gear settings to match with yours, but it was close enough for the lower gears.
