Almost certainly the one FIFA related product I intend to consume this year.

[EDIT] They weren't inspired very hard. Fail. 👎🏽

Perhaps some Mexican jalapeño Philly cheese will save these from the garbage bin.

Interesting meal, how did it go? I miss pizza, seriously.
Well, schnitzels are great fried food if you are into fillets.

Just as long as the meat is pounded nicely.

My mum was bored so she decided to whip up some chicken in oyster sauce for me.

This is really gorge. Think it must be the sesame oil.

I made chicken karaage (for the air fryer) tonight...

It was disappointing - but partly because I didn't have potato starch (and used cornflour instead) and partly because it was air-fried and not deep-fried - it didn't work.

I rescued it by serving it with a tonne of BBQ sauce, and even had sake to go with it (and in the marinade) - so it was pretty authentic and it was very tasty - but it looked terrible and I could feel the floury texture. It was also an enormous amount of hassle for very little reward, so I won't be making that again :boggled:

Cheap booze for moi and then a Costco ween because Ima cook cook tomorrow. Still have half a pizza dough ball to struggle learning how to roll out properly, but those things are amazing and cheap via Aldi. My own marinara sauce is another thing I've yet to experiment with and have all the canned tomatoes ready to go.

Oh I tried that recently in a poke bowl! It really tasted great.

Today's lunchtime special:
  • Mum's chicken and sweetcorn soup
  • Otah spicy tuna spread on M&S Super Seeded toast
  • Cuppa char
I hope the otah doesn't burn my tongue like last time, or I really will be living up to the inscription on the mug. Ice cream in the freezer on emergency standby.

Soup looks great!!

I made a chicken roast for my Mum and I tonight (which was pretty great, even if I do say so myself!) with buttered new potatoes, roast veg and a rich chicken gravy.

The best bit, however, is that Mum makes a soup from the leftovers and it is really delicious - I got some lovely fresh bread today as well, so that is lunchtime tomorrow well and truly sorted!

Yeah, it was 👌. Just the right consistency and balance of flavours.

No ice cream required as the otah wasn't too spicy either.

I think I found a winner for the Oreo "Choose your favorite flavor' promotion...

Banana Cookie Pudding.

Also, a partly burnt crust pizza I made.

High hydration, difficult to handle. Chicken sausage, goat cheese, mozzarella, aru… rocket, red onion, leftover zucchini I cooked, some quinoa leftover added to the sauce for a bit more fiber.

Then the night before, a 90/10 burger with a slice of cheese, a little mayo, onion, tomato.

Since I resigned from my work and started working on a personal contract project, I have ample time to cook for myself. It feels night and day, the difference.

For a late dinner tonight, we went by Golden Corral and got 14 grilled chicken tenders, some green beans, black-eyed peas and some dinner rolls. This should tie us over until breakfast tomorrow. Always good to sleep on a full stomach.

Some salmon, potatoes and veggies. Only meal of the day and well worth the effort. I have some high hydration pizza dough ready for tomorrow, so I’ll be making something with that and meal prepping some burritos with some dry marinating chicken I have.
