Very weird. So I go to the race selection screen, and then I look in my garage for a nice car to do these races with. The game says I can use the Buick Special '62. I then want to start the race and the game says it's not an car from before 1970???? Fail?

Not really. The car is based off a 1962 Buick. It was built in a few years ago(not totally sure of the exact year). Therefore it is not qualified. Same thing with the Art Morrison Corvette and the Mustang Trans Cammer.

But why doesn't the game understand that?? I don't care anyway just did with my Miura and it couldn't be much easier than that XD.

Glad we FINALLY get some more races to race, really, but here's my problem. Why can't PD give us 20 or 30 races? Seriously, it can't take more than 30 minutes of one person's time to "create" all the races we just got. Why not throw a bunch at us then? Why so little content in GT5 altogether (A-Spec), and why not easily improve it now? WTF, I don't get it.

Some people will always be miserable...You should play another game, or try meditating.💡

just completed the 1st race with an untouched cobra 427 '66 with a PP rating of under 500. Didn't change oil or tires and still won by almost 50 seconds and lapped 3 cars:yuck:

Yep. It just shows how bad the AI is.

Did a couple with my personal favorite Isuzu Bellet 1600 GT-R '69... had a blast!

People who are looking for a good car to get for these event, should really look at the Toyota 2000GT '67 available on the Online Dealership... with just an oil change and sports softs... perfect handling & power and still keeping things competitive!

Next up is the Mini Marcos :dopey:

Everybody try out the Ginetta G4 in stock condition except a small exhaust tuning and smallest clutch update. Really great fun.

I'll definately try this one. The G4 turned out to be one of my GT4 favourites, and I nabbed one off the normal lot and havn't played with it yet!

That car is tons of fun. Kind of like a miniature Cobra :D

A good way to review the eligible car list is to use this site, and sort by year. If you're already using this site to catalog your cars, you can also see the ones you already own, along with the cars you want to buy for these races.

The eligible cars are on p. 20-21.

Love the look of the Bellet. Just bought it the other day from UCD, but haven't driven it yet. I'll have to give it a try.

I'm really enjoying these races with the Cosmos. Won two of them with the endurances and never touched them because I thought they were rubbish. They're actually really fun to drive, competitive in these races and sound nice to boot!

Recommended!

I had the Bluebird Rally Car in my UCD earlier today, so I bought it thinking it would be a nice option for these races. I haven't had time to try it yet, I hope it's not too fast!

People: please do not come in here moaning about a lack of difficulty when using fully maxed Cobras and Camaros. It makes you look stupid. Just a gentle tip. ;)

LOL, I have never seen people get so upset from winning. :dopey:

I used an RM Camaro the first race and I knew that even with the worst possible tires (sports hard) it wasn't going to be difficult. I downgraded in terms of power and used the 10 mil. credit Alfa. It makes weird noises from the engine but is a blast to drive. Unfortunately, it too is too powerful. I want to try the 2000GT or the Samba bus here (that may be even more fun).

Can anyone tell me why my 542hp '69 camaro is not eligible? Mine was tuned to 556hp so i decreased it to 540hp, that didnt work. Went on other toon and bought another and only tuned it as far as 542hp and still wont let me use it. After reading the posts here I realize I dont need to use that car now but I am still wanting to know why it is within the regulations but not allowed.Think I'll try the G4, havent driven that yet.

This race was very easy, I wish the AI had more powerful cars. I just used a Ford GT40 Race Car and removed the aftermarket turbocharger and set the power limiter to 75% (378 HP, 550 PP). I needed the XP boost though, it almost got me to 30.

OK, done it. After completing this with an Alfa Giulietta I decided to have some fun (not that that wasn't).

Fully tuned '49 Beetle, Matte Lime Green on racing softs. Won all races!! Took a couple of goes at Monza (due to lack of top speed) but if you take the p!ss at the chicanes you can do it! Best lap 1.46.xx.

Now that was fun!!

EDIT: Car was 373pp

I used to think that most of the complaints about GT5 were valid. Then I opened this thread and read all the whining about how lame this week's Seasonal Events were because they were too easy when using ONE MILLION HORSEPOWER cars. For grief.

Haven't raced them yet but totally excited. Look at just a few of the cars you could make a competitive race out of:

Honda N360 '67
Volkswagen Typ2 (T1) Sambabus '62

Chevrolet Corvette Convertible (C1) '54
Nissan Fairlady 2000 (SR311) '68
Toyota 2000GT '67

PD really should have restricted it to those cars, and comfort softs like the AI. They're still easy to beat with enough tuning, but at least there's incentive to minimize your upgrade costs and work at the challenge.

Has anybody given the 'wagens (Schwimm & Kubel) a go yet?

I've won the last one (Eifel) using a fully tuned Kübelwagen on comfort/normal tyres after I already won it before using a 300SL, the other ones I easily won using a stock Alfa Giulia TZ2.
Might do them again with some other classics, although the Kübelwagen wasn't much cop on the other tracks due to its low topspeed (at least with the set up I used).

I just gave a Ginetta soft sports tires, a racing air filter and the computer chip and I won in a very fun race at Tokyo.

Stock '65 Shelby GT350-R,w/comfort soft tires.

Cleaned house.

Especially on the Eiffel Kart track.Hang on,we're going for a wild ride.

I do have a question though. The event calls for cars '69 and earlier. How come I cannot use the '69 C3 'Vette ? That was my 1st choice, then I had to opt for the Shelby.
