LOBBY INFORMATION

lobby settings

Events will be hosted in a friends only session

Qualifying tyres: Racing Soft
Race Tyres: Racing Soft - Racing Medium
(both compounds must be used)
Driving Aids: Prohibited except ABS on 1.
Tyre/Fuel Consumption - Normal
Damage - Heavy
Slipstream - REAL
Penalties - Off
Boost - Off
Grip - Real
Race Finish Delay - 180 seconds

WEATHER
will be decided using a real world weather report for race day at the track due to be raced.
Weather report site link

TIME
Any track that has change time feature will be set as follows:
time at start of race: 13:00
progression: 12
This should simulate a 24 hour race in 2 hours giving us a night stint half way through the race.
I have noticed that not all tracks can progress a full 24 hours of game time.
In this situation I will be setting the time progression to use the full available time spectrum for that track.

Voice chat will be enabled for the race director.
During sessions all microphones MUST be turned off!
The chat box may be used between sessions.
Use of chat box during race is strictly prohibited!
After the race the chat should be kept civil!
Asking someone about an incident is OK but having an argument is not permitted.
Incident reporting and stewards procedures below.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

GTP OLR
APPLIES AT ALL TIMES
PLEASE ALSO READ
THE GOOD RACECRAFT GUIDE

(Thanks to the GTP admin team for the OLR
Thanks to @VBR for the good racecraft guide)

SPEC CHECKS

Before Qualifying can begin all cars will need to pass a spec check to ensure that all cars are running at the regulation specification.
This will be done by setting the car regulations within the lounge settings for each car.
Weight limit in the lounge will be 1380kgs
Then the individual car's pp's will be used to test each car.
When your cars pp is programmed into the regulations for the lobby you must then press
"enter event"
but do not go to track.

ONCE THIS IS COMPLETE ALL CARS WILL BE IN PARC FERME
YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED INTO SETTINGS AFTER THIS TIME!
THIS INCLUDES THE TIME BETWEEN QUALIFYING AND RACE!
IF YOU WISH TO CHANGE TYRES YOU CAN DO IN THE DRIVING OPTIONS MENU.

QUALIFYING

Qualifying will take place before the race on the day.
This will be done using the practice or "free run" part of the lounge.
After spec checks are complete and all cars are on track the message:
"Qualifying is green"
will be typed into the chat box by the race director.
You will have 15 minutes to qualify.
In this time your best time will count.
IF YOU ARE HAPPY WITH YOUR TIME AND WISH TO STOP DRIVING PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON TRACK
DO PLEASE DRIVE TO THE PIT LANE AND PRESS START.
Once the 15 minute session is complete the message:
"Qualifying is over"
will be typed into the chat box by the race director.
YOU WILL BE ABLE TO FINISH THE LAP YOU HAVE STARTED!
The race director will drop off track and use the live timing feature of the watch race feature to take all your lap time's.
PLEASE STAY ON TRACK WHILE THIS IS DONE TO MAKE SURE WE CAN SEE YOUR TIME!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

RACE PROCEDURE

GRID ORDER

Grid order will be set to fastest 1st.
Drivers will be called to track in grid order.
Drivers should then drive out the pits and park on track at the end of the pit lane in grid order.

START

The start will be using the standing start with false start check feature as I think this is the easiest way and saves confusion with rolling starts.
If rolling starts is an option in the game settings then this will be used.
Once moving you are expected to race hard but fair!
The start of the race usually is a bit tricky as all the cars fight for turn 1. You are expected to make it your number 1 job to get through turn 1 cleanly!
This does not mean I expect you not to try to gain places as we all will but IF you are deemed to have caused an incident doing so you will be penalized!

DURING

Lucky for me the GTP OLR covers most of this section for me 👍

On A straight FIA rule's apply!
I.E. ONLY 1 DEFENSIVE MOVE (NO WEAVING ON THE STRAIGHTS)
ONCE YOU HAVE MADE YOUR 1 MOVE YOU MUST THEN LEAVE SPACE FOR A CAR WHEN YOU MOVE BACK
The track limits are ALWAYS defined by the white line!
On pit entry and exit you must keep all 4 wheels inside the white pit line.
Pit lane lines may vary for some tracks so please read the next race information post.
Track limits will be strictly policed!

TYRES
We will be using the racing soft and medium to race with.
If the race is completely dry you will be required to use both compounds for at least 40% of the race distance (by laps).
The track will be considered wet at 25% track water.
If the track gets to be wet (25%) you are no longer required to use the medium tyre.
You must also Qualify on the tyre you wish to start the race on.
Failure to comply, will result in being disqualified from the race results!

LAPPING
If you are being lapped then you are expected to let the lapping car past with minimal time loss for both yourself and the lapping driver.
The lapping driver should also make sure that he passes without costing anyone any time!
Ignoring this rule and costing a lead car time (or if you are the lead car and cause a collision) penalty may be applied.
If you are a lap down but are quicker than a car a lap ahead, you may unlap yourself so long as:
You do not slow the lead car in doing so.
You have superior grip enough that once ahead you pull away to avoid being blue flagged.

MISTAKES HAPPEN

If you have made a mistake and have left the racing line you are expected to take care when rejoining the racing line as there may be other cars there already.
If a driver in-front has made a mistake and has left the racing line this does not give you automatic right to the racing line so be cautious and be ready to allow the lead driver to return safely.
If an incident occurs in this situation then both drivers will be looked at to see what they did to try to avoid the contact.
Gap between cars, speed and exact position of both cars will be looked at when dealing with this type of incident and penalty may be applied accordingly.
I.E.
If the lead car (making the mistake) comes straight back onto the racing line that a following car already has then that driver will receive a penalty.
If the following car does not have the line and causes a collision (so long as there was sufficient reaction gap) then this driver will receive the penalty.
If neither driver makes any effort at all to avoid the other (or there wasn't sufficient reaction gap) then it will be deemed a racing incident and no penalty will be applied.

RETIRING FROM THE RACE

If you wish to retire from any race you will do this by driving to the pits and pressing pause. Any drivers that leave the track will be considered as 'rage quitted' and will receive a penalty of 2 championship points.

AFTER THE RACE

After the race will will do a post race spec check, this is to avoid anyone gaining an advantage by using a new car for each race and running it in during the race and gaining power.
This will be done as soon as everyone is returned to the lobby.
Anyone who either enters their settings or leaves the lounge will be assumed as avoiding the extra spec check and may be disqualified from the race result.
If you disconnect before the spec check has been done we will require a picture of the disconnection message
"you have been disconnected from the server"
On this screen you are asked to press X to continue, so before you do this you need to either get a screen shot or find a camera to take the picture of your TV.
If this is done and the picture sent to the head steward then penalty will be avoided.
This is because you could just quit the game or turn your PS3 system off to avoid the spec check

DISCONNECTION PROCEDURE

In the event of a mass disconnection (3 or more people) the race will immediately be red flagged.
The race director will drop straight off track once they have noted their current position and announce the red flag.
All drivers that are left in the race should drive to the start/finish straight under yellow flag conditions (no overtaking) and then park in your respective grid box so that the restart order can be noted.
A steward will then give the order for all drivers to drop off track to start the restart procedure.
As for the disconnected drivers, they will need to know what position they were in prior to disconnection, other drivers may help with this.
If less than 70% of the race has been completed then the race will restart following a 10 min break.
If more than 70% of the race has been completed the the race will not restart and half points will be awarded.
Laps completed will then be deducted from the total with allowance for the 10 min break.
Drivers in this time should join the track and stay in pits until all drivers have returned or the 10 min is up and restart procedure begins.
This procedure will also be used during qualifying although drivers can stay on track so not to lose their time but must be parked in the pits
If less than 20 min of qualifying has passed then the session will be restarted after 10 mins with only the time passed at time of disconnection being taken off the remaining qualifying session meaning a 10 min delayed start.
If 20 min or more of Qualifying has passed then the session will not restart and the grid will be set using the driver positions prior to disconnection but the start will not be delayed by more than 10 min.
Disconnection / black screen at race start will mean full restart procedure will be put in place with a 10 min delayed start.
During the 10 min delay the disconnected driver(s) will be expected to take this time to do a full router and PS3 reset and clear their cache and rejoin.
IF A DRIVER HAS CONSISTENT CONNECTION ISSUES THEN ALLOWANCES WILL NOT BE MADE FOR THAT DRIVER!

RESTART PROCEDURE

Grid order will be set to fastest 1st
Drivers will be expected to leave the pit lane and line up at the end in order of position before restart/disconnection.
You will probably know what position you should be in but I will type the order in the chat box.
Please do not use the chat during this time as it will move fast.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SUCCESS BALLAST SYSTEM

You will receive a PP reduction for podium position(s) for both categories in the previous race(s) as follows:
1st: 3pp
2nd: 2pp
3rd: 1pp
This will keep building for every time you finish on the podium and will be reset once you finish off the podium.

You will also be reduced in PP for championship position in your respective category as flollows:
1st: 5pp
2nd: 3pp
1st: 1pp
I am hoping that this will ensure that no one driver can run away with the championship too easily (Sebastian Vettel) 👍

POINTS SYSTEM

Points will be awarded to the driver
for their finishing position in their respective race (PRO/AM).

AS FOLLOWS:
1st: 25 points
2nd: 18 points
3rd: 15 points
4th: 12 points
5th: 10 points
6th: 8 points
7th: 6 points
8th: 4 points
9th: 2 points

BONUS POINTS

Pole position: 1 point
Fastest lap: 1 point

these will be awarded for both categories.

The team and manufacturer points will be awarded using the points scored by the driver(s).

DROP SCORE

We have introduced a drop score system.
This will be your worst result of the season.
So you will be scored on your best 8 results.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You were seen to cross the pit exit line before the end of the pit lane

@Glenalz81, Both pit stops,
You were seen to cross the pit exit line before the end of the pit lane.
I would guess you probably forgot about the pit limits as you were the worst offender.

Please watch this in the main races guys as warnings will be given.

WARNINGS

Only 1 warning this week for the usual pit limits.

@Daniel Pinho, you were seen to cross the whit pit lane exit line on your only pit stop on lap 16.

Please can everyone make sure that you know where the end of the pit lane is on each track as I really don't want to have hand out silly penalties.

@Revoy, This is not a warning but just an observation.
I noticed while you were behind me (also other drivers pointed this out to me).
If you are behind a car that is a lap ahead but have more grip, you ARE allowed to unlap yourself, so long as:
You do not slow the lead car down in doing so.
You have the grip that once you are in front you can pull a gap to avoid being blue flagged.

WEATHER:

Looks to be dry at the moment but keep an eye on:
Motegi 14 day forecast

As we get closer to race day you can see a better weather report. So keep an eye on it.

PIT ENTRY
The pit entry is on the right before the final turn.
Be aware there is a chicane your car has to pass through while under the control of the computer.
You are responsible for the cutting of this chicane so make sure you slow enough for your car to make it through.

PIT EXIT
As you exit the pit lane you are handed back control of your car at the exit.
You must then stay to the right of the white pit lane exit line until it has finished.
Once past the end of the exit line you are allowed to resume normal racing although DO NOT cross straight back onto the racing line if there is a car there.

40% RACE DISTANCE
(Medium tyre minimum usage laps)
24 Laps

PP PENALTIES

As this is race 1 all cars will run standard pp with no penalties.

I'm glad you pointed that out.
The 8pm race is pre season testing race and will be half length.
Main season races will start at 7pm.
I will change that to how it should be tomorrow 👍

K, thanks for clearing that up:tup:
And just to make it crystal clear, that's GTM correct?

Now that my current series has been completed my full attention will be going onto this :D

Although nothing can be fully confirmed until GT6 has been released I am open to suggestions on how to improve this series.

A couple of minor changes have been made in the OP:

TEAMS:
will now be made up of both a PRO driver and an AM driver. Both drivers will compete for their respective championship and the team will be scored on the result of both drivers meaning that the maximum a team can score in 1 race is 58 points if both drivers win their category and take the maximum of 28 points each.

QUALIFYING:
Hasn't changed yet but we are trying to find a way to run qualifying better so that we can police the session properly. More details will be given after the release of the game.

We already have 7 drivers confirmed for this, so almost half a full grid already. There are some drivers from my current series that have not yet signed up that we are hoping to see soon 👍

Also F.A.O. stewards, I have just purchased premium membership to make stewarding conversations easier as all stewards will be able to view and reply to the same conversation 👍 :D
