...but I don't think any will be coming for this game (unless I missed it in all the GT6 excitement.)
Unfortunately, no. I'm still waiting for a Classic/Group B DLC though. But the probability of that happening is very, very unlikely at this point.

No regional lock - well not on the PS3 there isn't. You might have problems with DLC as you'd have to get that via the US Store, but I don't think any will be coming for this game (unless I missed it in all the GT6 excitement.)

Cool thanks! I'm not to fussed about DLC, unless there's Group B DLC but I'll figure that out if the time ever comes.

Did anyone figure out the sound issue with the PC version?

Just installed the game today and the sound keeps cutting out and doesn't come back until I re-launch the game. Pretty ironic considering they finally made the engine sounds decent  Game seems great so far, looks much nicer than WRC3 and the physics feel good too.

WRC 3 hasn't even been released in the US yet, apparently...

*Or only just released, can't remember off the top of my head...
WRC 3 was released something like six months after the EU release, or something like that. I've no idea about WRC 4 as that's a different publisher who probably has their own distribution setup.

That's certainly a bummer they look like excellent games.
They are indeed - like you say though, Amazon will get you the goods.

Hi, I bought this game a couple of months ago for the PS3. Really enjoyed it at first but ended up returning it and getting a refund because there was a glitch with repetitive results - basically, Loeb always won WRC, Kubica won WRC2 and Chardonnet WRC3.

Can anyone tell me whether this glitch has been resolved yet, or if you have experienced the same issue? Because I'd really like to purchase the game again - but only if this is fixed. Otherwise I find it totally unrewarding.

Do you mean they are unbeatable, or just those names always win their respective class stages and events? I think that's how it was meant to be and not a glitch as such.

Could you elaborate?

I mean they are always winning their class stages and events. For me this seems a basic error as it means that unless you win every single rally, it's almost impossible to win a championship since Loeb/Kubica always finish second when you win a rally. Whereas I had strong rallies (where I dominated) and others where I'd finish 5th/6th...that's life.

Seems very unrealistic - how likely is it (even with Ogier in his current form) that one driver ALWAYS finishes in the podium places, let alone winning all the time?

I remember a few rallies in arcade where occasionally another driver would get the podium if I diddn't and that mixed up the standings enough to mean I didn't need to win every event. That's arcade mode/full rally though, like those you do for the named driver trophies. Hope that helps.

finally got round to starting this game yesterday. ive just been doing career mode and the thing that has really struck me is how much harder than wrc3 it is. i used to win fairly consistently on difficulty 8 but ive had to turn it down to six for the first few rallies. im going to turn it up to seven tonight now ive got used to the handling, but it is much more sim now than 3 was.

I'm a big rally enthusiast, love watching the sport and have played a tonne of rally games over the years. Funnily enough, I can't even remember the name of my favourite rally game - the old blue Subaru imprezza was prominent.. I think it was a colin mcrae title and it was on PS1, anyone know which game it was? Played it around 99 (give or take a year or 2). Any ideas?

Anyway, picked up Dirt 3. Was okay... but it feels like it wasn't made for the wheel. Controls are sloppy and there's no real feel - I cannot get close to the A.I on max difficulty and it's not because they're too tough but rather I cant get the wheel to work properly. It's the first game in years I was faster with a controller rather than a wheel.

Is WRC4 better? Is it more of a sim? Could someone do a detailed comparison/evaluation of the two so I know whether to get it, thanks!

Edit: Just checked and I'm sure it was the original Colin Mcare Rally. I recognise the verticle bar on the right side that went green or red depending on your time. Damn I was like 6 years old and I used to race hard against my uncle, was a child prodigy xD

WRC3 has working FFB, voice chat, variety of cars to drive (not all in multiplayer) and the default suspension settings is stiffer than WRC4 making it easier to slide, rotate and roll the cars.

WRC4, sharper graphics, sound break up in single player mode, no FBB for road surfaces, no chat, less cars, removed New Zealand, added Australia, changed stages Germany, Finland, Sweden and Italy. Lots of cheaters with hacked mtx files taking all the fun out of competition :(

Both games work very well with wheels once you get it setup to your liking. First patch fixed some bugs and created new ones. Second patch removed the first patch,...it was that bad! :(

Still if you're looking for a dedicated rally game,..WRC4 is the one.

Is the physics superior to Dirt 3 though?

Can you tell me how to get the FFB to work on my T500RS? I bought this from Steam, downloaded it, then found out there were a lot of problems with it. Mainly the FFB.

I got the WRC3 from Amazon digital and it worked fine, I have not been able to try WRC4 at all.

Yes, WRC4 has good physics. Not great to everyone's liking but there are mods that make it very challenging. Dirt3 at least in rally mode has way too much grip, most stages in the lower classes you can drive flat without braking!...not like Dirt2

This post is from the WRC4 Steam forum,...The game as it is right now has NO surface feed back, just spring and damper on a G27. I know that they are listening to us about the bugs in the game because they unpatched the game to fix the achievements. I'm sure they will release another patch to address the FFB.

I have a similar set up on my Thrustmaster ts500.

Overall effects = 100
Constant and periodic = 100
Spring = 100....(Not the center spring) This in my case, seems to be the key setting
Damper = 0
Degrees of rotation = 540
Allow game to adjust settings = selected

In game = feedback full and 900 degrees on.

With these settings, especially the spring on 100, I have slight surface feedback and if I hit a rock, tree or guardrail, ( on purpose I might add ), the wheel jerks quite heavily. The feeling of weight to the car is also more pronounced.

All this does not excuse the lack of proper FFB and track surface feeling.

Thank you for the information Superd

Honestly, if they don't correct this, and it's looking unlikely, I'll be done with them. WRC3 supported my wheel, why wouldn't this version do so as well. This day and age not to have proper FFB for all available wheels is just unacceptable.

I don't know if I should get this game, never got WRC 3 because I already had DIRT 3 but with WRC 4, since it's now a last gen game, I think I should wait for WRC 5. I'm a big rally fan but I don't like that the stages in these games are basically fantasy tracks. I live in Mexico and I've never seen any of the real stages in the game (not even the scenery).

This is footage from different stages of this year's event, taken by me.

I can understand why Dirt uses them but WRC is supposed to be the official game.

You won't get the actual stages in a modern game, due to the length and work required to model all of that.

How is this game now? Was it fixed? i mean all the ON LINE disconnections was the issue for me. I've read that doing platinum trophy was an issue because of it.

Anyone is still playing it? I'm considering buying it because it's cheap now so i need a co op partner for on line trophies.

I haven't played much in the past three months due to GT6 and Borderlands 2 but I did jump on a few weeks ago. There was no update but I never had any problems with online connections. There are only six trophies for online and they ask you to complete a certain number of stages online, not win. The last two are for a cumulative total of one hour and three hours respectively spent online racing - so you don't need anyone to run them with you.

EDIT: Actually update version 1.01 (30Mb) greeted me just now. There were also a few lobbies when I looked. Odd thing though, it has reset my online level to 1 and given me a disconnection rate of 100%. I think I only had two disconnects which were due to the host...

Does anyone want to join a online mini event /league for this game? I already have two other people who would be in it.

Good idea, unfortunately I suspect you'll be in the wrong timezone for me and probably most others who have the game. There are a few players in the US though - what times and days are you thinking of?

We can always set up some time trials.

I'll have crappy times though, I'm on the Vita. :p

Can't wait for my copy to get here. I've been holding out for the price to drop and I just checked only to find the official carrier on amazon only had 11 copy's left so I went ahead with it. Lol. Pretty good wait ahead though, coming from the U.K. and all. But recently got 3 and it takes me back to an old rally game from like 99 maybe 2000. Instantly fell in love and knew I had to have 4 in my collection. Hoping there are a few other fans here in the states.
