Is the full game available for download on the PS3? Rather not wait to import the game.

Yes !! It's available on PSN as well but much more expensive :guilty:. For this kind of money it's just not wort it. Either go to local store and purchase disc version or let it go. :yuck:

ok I managed to have a better go now I have centre spring working (no true ffb thou) and all in all its ok still got same prob with repeating sections they had in WRC 3(I live in wales GB and they use sections from great orme and hafren in the same rally stage but yet they are over 2 hrs drive apart ) the car handling is the same as WRC 3 slightly better visuals slightly better sound and a much better career mode I do wish someone else would pick the WRC licence up coz its good but could be a so much better!!!!! arcade at best (still better than dirt 3when it comes to pure rally thou)

I think the handling is way better this time, far less random wobblies being thrown by the car braking at speed. True the graphics are only slightly improved, but I still like it.

Seriously though, who would do as much for the rally genre if they had the license? Codemasters? Don't get me wrong, I like their DiRT games...but really, they have a different focus nowadays and are owned by an investment company that is more interested in casual gamers, so they certainly wouldn't be allowed to go the rally sim route. I can think of no one else who would want to do this right now.

On the stages - I took a break from career to dive in and do a few single stages. Finland is improved once more and you can see bits from the first two games and what they had wanted to do back then. The current version though is far, far better with the more noticeable elevation changes and they're still insane stages to drive.

Ditto Portugal - nice improvements to the flow of the stage I did (SS1)

Australia seems like a blast from what I've done.

I don't feel it myself but that said im still without ffb so maybe if they fix that I will feel a difference.

I don't know who that's why I said I wish someone would, coz its taken four years to get to this stage and its still arcade at best!!!

im just gutted coz im a very big rally fan who wants the best sim like game that can be made in 2013 and no one is doing it just imaging the opening screen menu of the game you get to select arcade mode or sim mode that's everybody happy ,that's got to be possible in 2013 right?

It's not the best rally game ever. But it is the best rally game we have had since the PS2. It's as good as the PS2 rally games for sure. But perhaps not quite as good as Colin Mcrae Rally 4 and 2005.

Ironically my favorite rally game before this one was WRC 4...

However with the talk of it being aimed at casual and sim and what not. It's a tough one I think because the handling isn't full sim, but still has sim aspects. The stages however, are incredibly tight and narrow in places which hints at a more hardcore target audience.

Only the dev knows but it's not a huge seller so I think they should just go full sim anyway.

A good point, and with that sales forecast comes a certain lack of funding which is probably what's stopping them going the whole hog.

I think the last and now this current title have gone a long way to opening up that potential. As far as I'm aware, they have the license for one more year, so maybe the next one will go full sim - assuming the reviewers don't go over-the-top unreasonable on Milestone like they did last time...

So far I like the game, it's not the best but it's still pretty fun. I wish there was more of a "start your own rally team" in the Career Mode, but that's pretty minor all things considered.

I really like it. Handling is certainly improved since WRC3.

Now it's just waiting for the Vita version to appear on PSN.

Wait for the DLC I'd say - that's what has happened at least once before and I can't see 'em dropping their Group B beauties.

Yeah, hopefully they aren't dropping them. Would also like to see the Tokyo Urban Rally Stage from WRC2 as DLC.

Video commenting my first impressions of WRC 4, half of the video in "English" and half in Spanish, also a gameplay of Rally Australia with the Mini John Cooper Works WRC.

They would be a heap of fun with the new physics, agreed!

Looking back at some of the gameplay videos of the Tokyo Urban track, I think it would've made for some great racing in multiplayer. Shame Milstone never implemented a rallycross mode.

ha anyone had any issues with the multiplayer? Ive set up an account, it worked once then next time I played it wouldn't let me log in saying "you have to validate the email" which I had, so I made another account and its done the same thing again?? Anyone got any clues so I don't have to set up a new account every single time i play...

Are you on PC? I ask as that sort of thing never happend on the PS3. I hope to start MP when properly connected in two weeks, so unfortunately I can't check.

If you are on the PC version, check with the people you got the account with - I remember Ubisoft's online service did similarly annoying things a few years ago, as did the NFS crowd.

I got an email (in my Hotmail junk folder, so it didn't get sent to my phone or desktop via POP) asking to validate, but when I did all I got was a white screen with the message 'Link already used' or similar. No option to resend, no further explanation...

Edit: So after a few hours on Borderlands 2 I decided to have a quick go on WRC 4. On my first attempt it knew my wheel was plugged in and that it was supposed to be using it as the main input device, yet only the keyboard controls worked. So I quit, unplugged my 360 controller, reset the connection with my G27 and tried again; no luck. Went to the options menu to see that it now defaulted to my keyboard, so I chose the wheel and tried again. It worked, but the button binds were all messed up; up/down gear were mapped to buttons 0 and 1; i.e. the left two red buttons on the shifter, rather than the paddles. So I remapped all the buttons to how I wanted and tried again. It worked, but the feedback (if you can call it that) didn't. I restarted the stage and the feedback was working again.

Then I got to the third stage of Mexico in the WRC 3 category, no problem at all. Between stage 3 and 4, the sound on my PC cut out, completely dead. No sounds at all now, and I don't know why. The mixer doesn't think the PC is muted so I don't know where to look next. Either this is WRC 4's fault or my PC just doesn't want me to enjoy WRC 4 tonight. Maybe it was having too much fun with Borderlands 2.

I'm really enjoying the atmosphere in these races - in particular Rally Wales with its rain, even when the sun is out... :)

I know these screen-shots don't do the feeling justice, but Milestone have captured the atmosphere well.

I take it WRC4 has only released console versions in Europe exclusively again?
They did release later in the US and possibly Canada for WRC 3 - so maybe this will happen once more. You can always get a EU copy sent to you too if it looks like being a long time.

I may consider it as I've just about taken current-NFS out of my life so if I ever need a new racing game, WRC can be one of it, but only under one condition. That condition is that there is some competitive base here. I'll have to keep my eye out to see how many people here are always up for a challenge to beat records.

This is just how I find lasting appeal of a game that doesn't look particularly pretty; there has to be something I can do in the long run. Of course driving in itself has its set of fun, but that lasts for a very short period of time for me. I can learn more about the game and put that into setting new records.

But this won't be true unless there's a great number of you who'll want to play at that level, so again, I'll have to wait a bit at least.
:)

There may not be a large amount of GTPers playing the game - however, there is a core group of players who have played all four games that you'll see online each day and they'll provide a challenge alright...

Yeah I am on PC, ill check thanks. I've been on the steam forums and it would seem that near everyone is having the same issue with no word from the WRC4 team. I hope they can resolve in a patch as it really is a pain in the rear!!!

Milestone invariably get a patch out...hopefully you won't have to wait too long though.

I got it im on PC Logitech g27 I started the game without the profiler running and felt a little something so went back into wheel settings put all sliders on full apart from centre spring and bang works great now had to turn it down a little and just fine tune that feedback just right (I don't feel road edge and landing off jumps but I think that's more to do with milestone than my setup very happy now (feedback however could be better on this game)

"Whoah, careful."

Please say you can change the co-driver.

Haha something that has always annoyed me about rally games, the co-driver has way too much to say! Just read the pace notes and don't say anything else thank you very much.

Would be nice to lower a little those arrows on screen, because some times pilot gives sometimes so much informations. It's hard to follow. Especially for someone who's English isn't the first language :/

Might not be everybody's favourite, but I like the Junior WRC front wheel drive Fieste. you have to really work them hard to show their potential.
