My GT would do away with GT4's map system and instead use a fully modeled city that the player could drive in. Within the city there would be dealerships and a racing school (for license tests). If the player wanted to buy a car, he/she could either drive to its respective showroom or simply warp there. The player would also have his/her own garage, where they could store, tune, and customize cars. Think of it like Test Drive Unlimited's island, except much smaller and without the various challenges. All racing would take place outside of the city, and only street cars would be allowed on the open road. No cops either... after all, this isn't Need For Speed. Think of the city as a hub from where you can access everything the game has to offer.

When you want to compete in a particular event, you simply return to your garage. All races can be accessed from there. Your team would then fly out to whatever track the event is taking place at. There would be full race weekends, and the player could skip the practice or qualifying sessions if they so choose.

As far as the customization aspect goes, the player would be able to add exterior parts as well as internal upgrades. Some would be specifically designed for racing (like a front splitter or rear diffuser), while others would be just for show. The player could also design liveries, either for specific cars or an entire fleet.

Online, players could start their own racing team with up to two other friends and compete side by side. Teams would be ranked on a central leaderboard. Also, an online showroom would allow players to create their own tuning company to modify and sell cars they've worked on. This would work the same way as the racing teams - you could either go it alone or employ a few friends, and leaderboards would allow customers to rate the best tuners and see how they rank.

I love this idea.

I have a master plan for my GT, but it's very long. I may post it when I have finished.

Yeah im sure alot of us had the "open world" concept in our minds after playing GT2! i mean it was just there, teasing you.

I always wanted a true career in a racing game.

really starting from the beginning. getting some tuny sponsors. Earning a contract at a manufacturor. Working your way up classes and fields. Getting into new sponsor deals, also edetting your livery. And so on.

My GT will include animals. I would like to hit a deer in the middle of the straight away in Fuji.

I would love that! You could replicate the DTM car hitting a rabbit and WRC cars hitting cows and Kangeroos among others

Ideally, I'd take every car that ever existed in history and then take a satellite picture of the earth and map out every road and race track. I'd have damage on it and the option to have traffic or not depending on your mood. Cockpit view as well. I wanna cruise around my town in a Ferrari FXX. >_>

Edit: And for example, if you damage the front splitter on a speed bump, you have to get it repaired somewhere, which will cost in-game money.

That would be one of the bestrest games in the whooooole world! Honestly I would love that.
That kind of game could probably be done just now... It wouldn't be very good but still... Seeing what Google are doing just now with "Street view" and stuff it is technically possible.
