Forza Motorsport 6: Apex Rain Driving Demonstration

We haven’t forgotten about Forza Motorsport 6: Apex, the latest free-to-play release of the Forza series and the first one built for the Windows 10 platform. Although it doesn’t feature the traditional hallmarks of the console-released titles in the franchise (online multiplayer, wheel support and livery editor), with 63 cars and approximately 20 variations of 6 playable circuits, the game still offers a tease of what’s to come, as future Forza titles will be released on Xbox One and PC simultaneously.

The gameplay video above, provided by GTP member Ak1504, shows off one of the more challenging track variations in the game. You’re going to watch a 3-lap race at the famous Belgian circuit Spa Francorchamps from the interior of Audi R15 TDI Plus, the car that locked out the podium at Le Mans in 2010. Road conditions are slippery and visibility is modest. Pay special attention to the pleasant sunset on the horizon and the overall mood of those rainy days…

WOW! just watched the game play of Forza 6 and it’s the most stunning, realistic racing game I’ve seen to date. The weather is spot on and the cars are perfect and so is the track the makers of the next Gran Turismo series have got to pull off something special to compete with this beauty.

I have a different issue… I’m getting random freezes that last 2-3 seconds and then everything goes back to normal (~60 fps). BTW running a GTX 980 Ti.

This just doesn’t seem right at all,

Does rain rally sound static when you’re driving? And does rain sound louder than a le mans engine? Are there really huge puddles flooding parts of the track when it rains? Since when does the driving line completely disappear and tyre marks vanish so quickly?

Does it really rain this heavily on spa? I must have seen at least 1000 real on board footages of Racing in the raining conditions but I have never seen anything like this in my life!

Came here to say the same thing.

The graphics may look very good, but fluid dynamics in this game is TOTALLY WRONG!

Water droplets are not moving fast enough… It’s as if the cars were moving only at 20 mph, the drops on the car surface is not moving fast enough… the water drained from the tires are ejected as if the car was just driving at 15 mph…

This totally detracts from the game play…

GT is better in that sense… Good things come to those who wait… patience my friends…

Is it just me, or does the tachometer on the right look awfully similar to GT Sport’s tachometer?

Now who stole the idea from who is my main question…

They don’t look anything alike to me, and that’s the standard Forza tachometer, so if anyone “stole” anything, it would be GT.

On the fence about what to do…I wanted to buy an xbox but since the Forza series will appear on pc now is it more wise to build a super computer and play it on pc? I am a big pc gamer that is in need of building a stronger computer….

If you don’t have a xbox one atm I wouldn’t advise buying one, there are rumors that microsoft is going to unveil a new gaming console in the next couple of weeks/months. Same with Playstation, with an ugpraded PS4.

But I already thought the same thing as you, with a good PC (I already have one but needs an upgrade) I can play multiplatform games and in the future Xbox games. So instead of buying another xbox console I’ll use that money to give a good upgrade to my computer and I’ll keep the PS4… that way I get the best of both worlds.
