Used a Celica TRD for the 400pp dirt event. Climbing uphill was killing the car. 3rd gear limiting it all the way up stuck on 90km/h lol. If GT5 implemented oil temperature failure, I’m sure it would have overheated.

time for more cones at abused corners , still allowing assists is a joke on these , i thought tt’s were to show the rest of us that the top places drive excellent , nothing excellent about cheaping out ,

    1. Amac500

You do realize the assists slow you down right? When you know what your doing your quicker without them every time and the quick guys at the top of the leaderboard run with then off and if YOU want to run quick you run with them off. They are on so other players can still have a chance to play them and earn the rewards. Plus, the bottom line is the best drivers will still rise to the top in any condition, that’s how it goes. Stop whining about pointless crap that doesn’t matter.

    2. w115ter

thats bs amac & u know it , try taking the lines they do at the same speed as them ull see assists help , assists slow u …. please , try telling that to someone who’s under 16 ull get them to believe u , this pointless crap as u say is the reason why the ‘real’ good players are from 7th place downwards , sometimes not even that high up , also when was the last time u looked at the leaderboard & saw no assists , PUBLIC HEALTH WARNING 101 – dont do drugs kids u end up seeing things that r not there and believing it

    3. w115ter

for the record amac im usually sitting from the 400’s to 1000 mark depending on how much the cheap seats are abusing things , i run abs 1 only & all 4 wheels are on the tarmac at all times , give or take jumps or if i clip the strips too heavy , i play fair every time

  3. Flagmo-T

I made gold in 7 laps, with a Citroen C4 2005 – The worsed place on the track is the middle part where you are just climbing – can’t get the Lazy car over 90km – so i need to find another Car – The Element 03 isn’t just for grabs, which company creates that funny little family car ?

    The 600pp 4WD i reached a 1560 place after 6laps in a Nissan gold edition.

I actually find both challenges fun and interesting .. and only 1 single Lap invalidated in the rally part, great looking track PD :o)

  4. MeanElf

Quite funny though having a rally car pic to announce this – I didn’t check all of the older ones, but most rally cars were all way too powerfull for the 400pp range. Had fun in an Audi 1.8 though

  5. w115ter

This is crazy , all you guys do is cry for ‘more cars ‘ , yet going by each seasonal tt you lot only use about 12 …. sorry how ignorant of me ill try to write it in you’re language – baaaaaa baaaaa baa , maaaa baaaa maaaaaaaaaa baaaaa , i tuned a car specially for eiger as i was feeling left out & not part of the crowd ( yeah right ! ) , its a fully tuned , fully lightened , red chrome schimmwagen , gold !

precision and patience. Forcing it makes you crash 60 times back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back.

I’m gonna try the hatchback Impreza (’07?) with 90/10 split, and locked up rear diff with open front. Ought to work OK.

  8. Doober

I am still hoping one day we have an endurance seasonal or maybe even a rally generated seasonal. Sure some of you won’t like but at least its a different thing than what we have been having for the past (almost) 2 years.

    1. another_jakhole

I’d want an endurance seasonal events. I’m not sure what they’d give for a prize. One of the +15million credit cars maybe?

    2. Progress823

If you even breathe the word “endurance” in an online room people run away. It’s kind of a bad thing; I know most of the good drivers on this game are looking for an endurance seasonal, but it may not happen.

For me, I would rather do one good race with a good group for two hours then hop around rooms running 2-3 lap races for two hours. If PD would make an hour long seasonal it would be an improvement.

    3. another_jakhole

Online needs to be improved greatly. There just needs to be more options and variables with quick match. It’s why I don’t use online as often as I would want to.

    4. Amac500

Well I think the people leave online rooms when they breathe the word endurance is because of the time you have to play the game. I get on at night for a couple hours. If I get online and I find an endurance race early on I run it, but if I’m about to go to bed I don’t want a race taking too long, gotta wake up after all. I’m on the endurance band wagon, I want one for sure. I wish PD would fix the levels of tire wear, well not fix but have a second tire wear setting for tires that last longer like in real life. Racing the 24 hours of Le Mans my tires should at least go a full stint. Real world they get at least 24 laps in the good tires and my good tires get 3? Leave the original tire wear and pair it with quicker fuel milage and then have a setting for the current fuel milage with less tire wear.

I thought we had drifting events last week with comfort soft on 500pp cars. Stick a fork in this simulation….it’s done

    1. lbpomg95

Wrong. Last week was 500pp Classic car races on comfort soft. If you read properly, you’d realise that it’s not a drift trial. It’s an A Spec race series. Maybe get your facts right before you complain?

  10. Cyber_stig_77

Dont understand what all the hate toward 4wd drift cars is, Ken block seems to be able to drift his 4wd fiesta ok ;)

    1. COLOSAL TOSSLE

Dr Tossle prescribes lots of late braking,i flick of the handbrake, then mash the throttle….

    2. jc18137

      Quote from spikeyhairdude

Ken block aint drifting. Its gymkhana where you perfect the way you drift etc.

Wut. Ain’t drifting, perfect the way you drift.

    3. another_jakhole

People taking the 4WD drifting seriously need to rethink what they’re playing. This isn’t iRacing, which you’ll need a subscription to play and is a sole racing game, nor is it GT Drifting Academy.

    Next lap invalidated!
    Next lap invalidated!
    Next lap invalidated!
    Next lap invalidated!

Why the hell don’t they just drop the time of the current lap instead. I hate time trials!

    1. qwbufp

You could gain an advantage by cutting the last corner and carry more speed on the start/finish line on the next lap!!!

    1. UrieHusky

That was my initial reaction when I saw it XD I was giggling hysterically as I posted the tip to GTP because I had been reading a thread where people were laughing at someone for using a R33 skyline for drifting, so I made a point of using my R33 to pass the events =P

  12. SonicConqueror

I used the Honda Insight LS ’09 for the 400PP time trial at Eiger Nordwand G Trail Reverse Time Trial. When driving an FF car on a dirt track, you have to accelerate to go faster around corners. The steep uphill proved very difficult for the insight’s acceleration. Also, the steep downhill section makes it very difficult to brake in time for a corner. A bit crude, but that’ll do.

    1. Andyc709292

Actually I learnt to drift in GT5 using a Skyline M.N.P edition. I tuned it to 10/90 diff split to the rear and it was serious fun. It never really scored much in drift trials as it was more sideways than drifting to be honest. Video is on youtube, won’t link it, not touting for hits.

    2. Andyc709292

I have, in fact have moved to a 240sx to continue my ‘training’ but I’ll be first to admit it’s a challenge difficult to master. Certainly I realised a few sessions ago I was doing too much driving sideways and not enough steering using the throttle – there’s quite the difference and it helped when I realised that. I’ll get there… ;o)
