This week’s new Online Time Trial isn’t doing itself any favors on variety. Gran Turismo 7 sends the McLaren 650S Gr.4 back to Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, running with High Speed BOP on Racing Hard tires with specified settings.
Of course, it’s not necessarily a bad combo. The 650S is one of the more forgiving Gr.4 cars in GT7, and Spa rewards exactly that kind of easy confidence through its faster sections.
The problem is timing: this is now the second active online event asking players to set laps at Spa-Francorchamps, running alongside the Mercedes-AMG Virtual Championship that still has over a week left.
Fortunately, the flat-out run through Eau Rouge and Raidillon remains one of the most demanding sequences in racing, and the lap’s blind crests and elevation changes punish anything less than full commitment. It’s just a lot of the same scenery for GT7’s time trial specialists.
There’s also a week left on last week’s event, which drops the Aston Martin DB11 ’16 onto Autódromo de Interlagos on Sports Medium tires. That one closes July 16.

Mercedes-AMG Virtual Championship: 10 Days Left to Qualify
The Mercedes-AMG Motorsport Virtual Championship is heading into its final stretch of qualifying.
The way into the GT7 field is still a single hot lap in the Mercedes-AMG GT3 ’20 at Spa-Francorchamps on Racing Soft tires, and that window closes July 20 (10 days left as of publication).
The quickest qualifiers go straight to Division One; everyone else who sets a valid lap goes into a raffle for Division Two. Entry is open to anyone aged 16 or over, and registering means joining the championship’s Discord too. We covered last year’s season, and the full rules and entry link are here.

Accessing Online Time Trials
If you’ve not jumped into one of these before, you’ll first need to unlock Sport Mode by completing Menu Book 9 (“Championship: Tokyo Highway Parade”) in the GT Cafe. There’s no need for a PlayStation Plus subscription to take part. See our full unlock guide here.
Once an event closes, prizes go out based on how close you got to the fastest lap: gold for anyone within 3% of the top time (2,000,000cr), silver within 5% (1,000,000cr) and bronze within 10% (250,000cr).
New events arrive every Thursday, and each runs for two weeks with the oldest dropping off as a fresh one appears. The next new Online Time Trial lands on July 16.
