A new set of Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges arrives this Friday, August 7, once your console clock rolls past midnight into the new week. Five events are up for grabs over the next seven days, along with the usual run of bonus tickets for anyone who clears them.
If you’re new to the format, Weekly Challenges unlock once you’ve cleared the GT Cafe career through Menu Book 39 and sat through the ending movie.
Each set pairs four standard World Circuits races with one Special Event built just for the week, and completing them earns bonus tickets at one, three, and five events finished, delivered to your Gifts and needing to be redeemed before the set expires. Clear the whole thing with clean race bonuses intact and there’s roughly 1.3m credits in cash and prizes on the table.
This Week’s Highlights
The Special Event is a time trial this week, and it’s a quick one. Gran Turismo 7 sends the BAC Mono ’16 around the National Layout at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, a stripped-down loop short enough that a clean lap should come in comfortably under 40 seconds.
Bronze requires a 40.300 or better for 12,000cr, Silver drops that to 38.100 for 18,000cr, and Gold pays out 30,000cr. It’s also worth noting Catalunya is doing double duty this week, hosting a second event on its GP Layout.
That second Catalunya appearance is the Schwarzwald League, a seven-lap race for German cars capped at 700PP that pays 88,000cr for the win, the second-highest reward of the set.
The headline payout, though, belongs to the World Touring Car 800 finale at Yas Marina Circuit: 200,000cr for a 10-lap, 800PP-capped race on Racing tires, with tire wear cranked to 7x and fuel consumption to 3x to make sure pit strategy actually matters. The Japanese Clubman Cup 550 at Autopolis sits in the middle at 20,000cr over three laps, while the European Sunday Cup 400 at Alsace’s Test Course Reverse is the low point of the week at just 7,000cr, though it’s also the shortest standard race on the schedule at three laps.
