Summer holidays are going to leave a big impression on Gran Turismo fans spending their vacation in Japan, as Polyphony Digital recently took to its Pit Stop blog to announce it will be hosting special GT Sport public sessions over the course of the summer. Much like the previous event in the country, these will be open to the general public.
Of particular note is the (translated) comment about the game’s steady evolution. The London GT Sport blowout was two months ago as of tomorrow; E3, five weeks. Considering the marked visual changes between the two events, we could see yet more advancements over the summer. These Japanese events may also represent some of the only opportunities for players to see further development on the title before autumn.
The next major gaming event is Gamescom, the European convention opening August 17. However, Sony has not yet commented on its plans for the occasion. In 2015 the company sat out the event due to its close proximity to E3, instead saving its big reveals for Paris Game Week (where GT Sport was originally announced last year). PGW is set to run October 27-31 this year, with SEMA – another event Gran Turismo typically features at – beginning a day after that. GT Sport is set to roll out in various regions only two weeks later, starting in North America on November 15.
The full list of dates and venues for the Japanese events are below:
- July 18 (Today), 10:00 to 18:00
Aeon Mall KYOTO (Kyoto) Sakura Hall second floor atrium next to area - July 30 & 31, 9:00 to 18:00
Aeon Lake Town (Saitama Prefecture) first floor wing of the Square - August 6 & 7, 10:00 to 18:00
Aeon Mall Tokoname (Aichi Prefecture) first floor North court - August 13 & 14, 9:00 to 18:00
Aeon Mall Hiraoka Sapporo (Hokkaido) first floor centre court - August 20 & 21, 9:00 to 18:00

If you do happen to be close to one of the listed locations, this could be one of the few chances to try the game before its November release date. Head on over to our Gran Turismo Sport forum section to discuss and share your demo impressions.
