GT Sport’s Next Update Arrives January 17 with 8 New Cars

The first update of 2019 for Gran Turismo Sport has just been confirmed by Kazunori Yamauchi in one of his famous silhouette tweets. According to the blacked-out image, eight new cars will be coming to the game on January 17, 2019:

Although the tweet was published just minutes ago, our forums are already buzzing with speculation about what the new cars might be.

The most notable (and perhaps the most obvious) in the bunch appears to be a Porsche 356: the very first production automobile ever produced by the Stuttgart brand.

Other possibilities (from left-to-right, top-down), include a TVR Tuscan, BMW Z8, the Aston Martin DBS3 which won the Gran Turismo Trophy at Pebble Beach in 2013, a Ferrari Dino 246, a Nissan 350Z, the aforementioned Porsche 356, a Honda Integra Type R (DC2), and a classic Mustang Fastback. Notably, there do not appear to be any race-spec cars in this update.

At this point we do not know what, if any, other content will be arriving in the game on January 17. The last update, version 1.31, landed in early December and included several new track layouts at Tokyo Expressway. As always, we’ll keep a close eye out for more news as it emerges.

Until then, head on over to the comments in our forums to join the speculation and share your own predictions!
