Following yesterday’s surprising news that Kunos Simulazioni has been acquired by Digital Bros, there have been a lot of questions regarding the future of Assetto Corsa within the sim racing community. Marco Massarutto has taken to Facebook to lay those concerns to rest.

Acknowledging that while both himself and Stefano Castillo are now shareholders in Digital Bros after the acquisition, he continues by saying “that’s it.” Massarutto assures fans that nothing will change, and everyone will maintain their positions and responsibilities at Kunos Simulazioni—the same policies, strategies and goals synonymous with the team will remain in-tact.

The one exception is the budget managed for the game will no longer come from the team’s own pockets, and will instead be supplied by Digital Bros directly. As discussed, the additional money could lead to the development of Assetto Corsa 2. Continuing, Marco assures fans of the game that the only news from the acquisition worth any concern is the fact they’ll now have more resources, time and power to do their job “even better than before.”

You can read Marco’s reply down below, and head over to his Facebook page for the full-length post.

“Ok, let’s clarify this before it becomes the bigger flame of the year.

By today, Kunos Simulazioni is part of Digital Bros Family, and me and Stefano by today are shareholders of Digital Bros. That’s it. We are still the founders of Kunos, we are still IN, also keeping our respective positions and responsibilities, with just [a] few exceptions: the budget we’ll manage by now doesn’t come anymore from our personal profits, but from Digital Bros, our bigger AC fan. Keeping the same policy, strategies, DNA, development team, [and] goals.

Therefore, before to scream in any direction that “Kunos has been bought, the world is over,” please sit down, breath and think. Because the only news you should be interested [in] is that by today, we have more resources, time and power to do our job, even better than before.”
