Dont worry Guffaluff,as far as i know, the SLS AMG will have an automatic transmission.Because that’s what Mercedes always do with their AMG models. So your G25 will be just fine for the game.

  2. Kiryu03

Dont worry Guffaluff, because as far as i know,Mercedes always equips their AMG cars with an automatic transmission. So your G25 will be just fine for GT5.

I am also conserned about driving this car with the Logitech G25. It only has 6 gears compared to the 7 gears in this monster of a car. I wonder how that will be supported. Maybe we´ll just have to use sequential shifting.

  4. Onitzuka

I’ve seen the car at the Frankfurt Automobile Salon, did not like it!! I find it too long in the front and not that ballanced.
But the news about this car in the game meens they are working hard to give us all the new car in the game at it’s release!! Really good!!

  5. DRiver

what whe now need is day night cycle and realtime weather internet to compleet the name real driving simulator i know its not easy to do but i dont expect much

I thought PD planned to have the Ferrari 599 XX on the cover. I think it should have 5 cars on the cover, one from every major motorsport. (Nascar, F1, WRX, Leman, Super GT)

  7. somestrangesin

it says the car is a 7-speed double clutch? what is that? there isnt 7 gears on the logitech g25 haha how do i shift into 7th. and what is double clutch?

  8. Parker

man i want the fxx to be the cover car! or the f458! i just love ferrari. they always do a good job, and lets not forget this is the first GT with ferraris, and so seems fitting maybe to have a ferrari(enzo?), lamborghini(reventon?), and bugatti(eb110ss?) on the cover.

I want to know the time TGS starts. Im on east coast of USA and TGS is this Thursday, but what time?

I hope they clear up the issue about how many tracks are going to be in GT5.

  10. Skittlybebop

    Regarding the Cover Car:
WThey should just take a photo of the SLS from the same angle as the GTR photo on Prologue and nobody could tell the difference anyhow. Total design ripoff.

  11. HaVoK_

Personally i think it’s design is a bit strange, i do however respect the car’s legacy and it’s performance. I would love to take it for some virtual laps on the ring to truly test it’s mettle..

  12. Rasmus

@ Ryan: Hmm, maybe the special announcement coming up at TGS could be that Porsche will be in the game… and Koenigsegg… and Bentley… ah well. Daydreaming a bit there, I think. :D

@ W89rnr: I agree. Even though I don’t really fancy the car nor its design, it’s for sure an icon and pays great tribute to one of the world’s first supercars. Plus, it kinda shows what the 2009 car design is able to put forth. My guess is that this will be a car which people will remember – and in that case, it’s a great cover car.

  13. hardvibes

But they have to fix the sounds!!! I don’t want to hear an electric car sound for this 571 CV V8 engine!!! It’s a monster!

  14. W89rnr

I really quite enjoy the mix of styling and performance of the SLS; a car that is a throwback to one of the world’s first supercars, it would make for an awesome cover car IMO

  15. Ryan

    @cobraagent90 Are you serious?

@Nomino Fair enough. I’m probably just ranting to myself about Porsche not being in the game.

  16. Franz

I think the cover car has to be KY’s new love. Like he bought a Ford GT then put it on the GT4 cover. Same thing happened to R35 on GT5:P cover, since his team helped Nissan to design the gauge interface, and also he got the privilege to test drive the car before the production model was revealed to the public. The chance of the SLS being on the cover of GT5 is pretty high IMO.

  17. lmntr34

is the tgs gonna have live stream n if so is gtp gonna provide it on its page?…oh n rumor has it gt5 will have livery editor…since it was one of the features gt hd was suppose to have

  18. cobraagent90

@Spring Ten Well Some say 25th September(I dont think so), others say 21st October(I dont think so neither) and others 4th December(maybe). IN 3 DAYS WE WILL KNOW FOR SURE

  19. Spring 10

    @ cobraagent90

A good point well made! My pre order from ShopTo has a release date of Dec 4th.

I really hope this comes out this year! I really hope they vary the cars and not have 600 Nissan’s!

  20. cobraagent90

@Spring Ten I’m 100% sure that GT5 will be released in 2009 BECAUSE:
1 Forza comes out in October
2 The 4th quarter of a year is the best time for sales
3 A lot of amazing games are coming in Spring 2010(FF13,God of War 3…)
    4 PS3 Slim+GT5 bundle is coming December 4th
5 Kaz himself said GT5 would be released SHORTLY after GT PSP

  21. Spring 10

I really hope theis means nothing but, the SLS will be out in spring 2010 (as stated in the article)

Has the PD brought a game out prior to the ‘official’ production release of a car.

In other words, not a concept car?

If memory serves me right the BMW M5 was a new car in GT-4. as was the BMW 3-Series in GT5P.

Can some one correct me if im wrong.

This would indicate a Spring 2010 launch. Which I think would benefit Sony. This would allow them to get the right marketing together for GT and allow consumers to finish/get bored of games like Uncharted 2 and COD:MW2.

  22. Mr_Hansen

    @Franz

I’ve been thinking about the exact same thing, about the Mclaren MP4-12C and Ferrari F458 ;D
(I’m especially hoping, and is pretty sure about, that they will include the 458 Italia at some point!)

  23. Nomino

Quote: “Why would anyone buy an SLR when one could own a Carrera GT for roughly the same price? Maybe an old golfer-like person, but I hope not any true driving enthusiast (which you GT guys should be).”

Why does anybody who plays GT have to be a true driving enthusiast? Maybe some people play GT because they simply enjoy playing driving games?

  24. Nomino

Quote: “This will probably be the cover car for GT5. As long as we get the game this year, I don’t care what car is on the cover! ;)”

Clearly you do, otherwise you would not have mentioned it.

  25. Ryan

Why would anyone buy an SLR when one could own a Carrera GT for roughly the same price? Maybe an old golfer-like person, but I hope not any true driving enthusiast (which you GT guys should be).

  26. David

We kinda already guessed it would be in but its nice to have it officially confirmed.

If they are making such a big deal of it it could well be the cover car of GT5 like how Forza 3 had an R8 on the stage when they officially annouced the game.

Anything is better than that horrible shot of the ZR-1 on the PSP box!

  27. Alan

I dont think theyll have just the 1 car on the cover, seeing as this will be the number 1 racing game all over the world they will probably have at least 4-5 covers for the different regions, if i had a choice of a car on the cover it would be the mclaren slr in black

  28. Black Chamber

This will probably be the cover car for GT5. As long as we get the game this year, I don’t care what car is on the cover! ;)

  29. Franz

Let’s hope PD will add the MP4-12C and F458 as well. It will be so much fun to have these 3 new cars competing in the game.

  30. alba

Why people think this is the major advancement news? TGS is still 3 days away people. I just don’t get some of you guys :P

  31. TW82

Boring car for old guys. The performance of the car on a race track is poor, like all other Mercedes cars. Well, it will never see a racetrack. It’s an expensive ego-car, not a racing machine.
