Does This Nissan GT Sport Teaser Feature a New Circuit?

Nissan has posted a new GT Sport teaser on its YouTube account. The manufacturer and long-term Gran Turismo partner focuses on the Nissan GT-R included in the game. Lasting only 25 seconds, the car is front and center for the whole duration.

The clip opens with closeup shots of the interior and exterior of the Nissan flagship. The second segment then shows the car driving on, what appears to be, Tokyo Expressway. Interestingly though, some speculation has arisen on this subject.

At first glance, the track does seem to be Tokyo Expressway. From the known track roster, the city track is the only option that matches with the scenery. Look closer though and you may see similarities with GT veteran Clubman Stage Route 5.

The fantasy circuit has appeared in every mainline series game (minus GT3) and the reverse variant bears a striking resemblance to this GT Sport shot. We see the car cruising down the expressway with the city skyline in the background. Compare the image at the top of this article to the shot below from GT6. While there are differences, it would be easy to draw comparisons between the two.

Given PD’s apparent reluctance to fall back on its fantasy circuit catalogue for GT Sport, the track is probably just a new variant of Tokyo Expressway. We haven’t seen any other evidence of favorites from previous games but perhaps Nissan has let the cat out of the bag early. We’ll let you be the judge, do you see the similarity in the tracks?
