    I think PD was onto something when they provided a car for the TT.

    – No hacks
    – no difference in car performance

    The only difference comes down to the drivers skill. which is how it should be

    1. TokoTurismo

      So? Is that a problem to you? Go play whatever game you play and leave other people to play theirs. It’s so dumn to see how people thinking playing a game since release is some sort of problem….

    2. sergio_z4gt3

      yeah, people play this because it´s asssisted by the gt community of gt, not like forza 3 or 4 which were abandoned 1 year after the release -_-… Go play your baby game where no-one knows how to drive

  2. RacingOtaku86

    So I read all this Chaparral BS, and how it’s so broken. It may very well be broken, but I got some news for you all: the top two racers (at the time of posting) USED THE RED BULL X2010 5G. You b^#<¥ and complain about the Chaparral, but these two post sub-three minute laps. These make the Chaparral times look realistic. Unbelievable… BTW, I did my lap in a Jaguar XJ13 RC '66, which is so much better than using those vacuum cleaners on wheels!

  3. Quakebass

    how about we stop saying “ban the 2J” and start saying “fix the 2j’s pp rating”…

    …I mean that’s the only thing wrong with it, right…?

    1. infamousphil

      Horsepower and Weight restrictions used in conjunction with the performance points system would resolve a lot of boss car qualms, imo ;)

    2. Soyuz 77

      I don’t see any thing “wrong” with the 2j at all! Maybe PD wanted to exaggerate the performance of fan car technology a little bit but I love drive that thing!!
      If you want to drive something else in the TTs… BE MY GUEST! no one said you HAVE to be on the leader board! Take whatever… regulations usually allow fairly wide range of cars to choose from ;)

  4. kolio123

    With all the complaints about the 2J and wether it should be allowed, I would like to put my own 2 cents in the piggy bank!

    I am on the fence no matter what.

    Some people state that it was banned from racing in real life, however this is a video game. Should the fact that this is a Driving Simulator make its way to be a regulation simulator? That is up for others to decide. I am in the same boat, why should a car be banned from the TT if it was never legal in real life(Some may not exist)? I have noticed that they always ban the F1/X1 Vehicles even if they can reach the restricted Performance Point Limit.

    What is the difference? Should they all be banned, all be allowed or simply left alone?

  5. Sharpener

    The fastest driver in the time trial must think we are morons. I think PD should be to take matters into his own hands.
    Those who use hacked cars should be expelled.

  6. Pit Crew

    Subaru Touring car on top of the Leaderboard? Now that’s something to be mad at PD for. Hacks are more of an issue in the TTs than the majority of 2Js in the top 200 are…

  7. stiggylab17

    I don’t understand people who complain about the 2J. Because of people who whine constantly I cant use my 2J except on very rare occasions, and sometimes not at all. Same goes for the X1. Because absolute morons go around in the X1 ruining everyone’s room, the rest of us who can actually drive cant have races with them, granted against other X1’s. Its people that whine constantly about every single detail of their o so poor lives that ruin everyone else’s time, and limit the socially acceptable cars that we can drive. As for the people I call de-tuners (people who like to make their car crappier for more fun), your the reason F1 sucks so much now! Lets take this marvelous exercise of engineering and give it crappier tires that last only one lap, a crappier fuel supply so it runs out of gas before it gets to the pits, crappier down force so it crashes before he runs out of fuel, and a crappier team so the car doesn’t even start so that it can crash. And last of all the people who are constantly hating on Sarthe and generally everything, have you nothing else better to do than be negative? BTW GT6 looks awesome.

    1. HKS racer

      petty? 1100 cars and everyone forced to use a vacuum cleaner box plagued by several mechanical problems in real life and banned the year later? That’s not what a Real Driving Simulator is supposed to do.

    2. TokoTurismo

      It is a petty. If people only focus on what other people do, how will anyone have fun? As of right now, I’m not taking GT5 seriously and just enjoy it, because GT6 is coming.

    3. Zuel

      @TokoTurismo

      Everyone was always focused on what others were doing since GT5 Prologue. I thought it was going to change with GT5 but GT5 is so much like Prologue in too many ways. There is nothing in GT6 even close to GT6. GT5 to me now I think it is nothing more than a hyped up version of GT5 Prologue.

    4. esio trot

      Now please bear with me for just a moment… like most folk here I want realism in my driving simulation.

      I’m gradually working my way through various race cars and struggling to get gold. Thought I’d give the 2J a run just to see how much quicker it was so I jumped into the cockpit and blow me down there’s no lights on the car! It’s pitch black and I can’t see a thing. Oh how I laughed.

      So, I checked out the top 2J guy on the leaderboard and he’s driving in almost total darkness, WTF? How does he do it? Does he wait until time moves on to daylight? eat lots of carrots? or turn up the game settings so that he can see where he’s going?

      Anyway, I was pleased to get into a car with lights again and I’m still laughing my socks off…

    5. TokoTurismo

      @Zuel Well than that’s too bad now is it? I don’t even see what it achieves, just have fun, who cares what other people do.

      And I see you’re one of those “GT5.5” people, right? Well you can say all you want, its still GT6 in my eyes. A hyped GT5P, what a joke…

    6. infamousphil

      The track map in the upper left hand corner of the screen, Esio. Zoomed all the way in… first thing an old friend from Forza did at Nurburg. He didn’t bother to purchase his own PS3 system. Used his brother’s account. To each, his own ;)

    7. Zuel

      @TokoTurismo

      GT6 is far from and is on another scale than GT5. I see GT5 Prologue as being GT5 and GT5 being GT5.5. There are too many holes in GT5 still that haven’t been fixed.

    8. Zuel

      @TokoTurismo

      GT5P and GT5 have a number of differences between them beside the pp tuning method. Even though we have more options to do what we want to the power of the cars, the pp tuning method is the same as in GT5P. I seen what some were speaking of when they were referring to GT5 just being a updated version of GT5P after a year or so of release. With all the updates that GT5 has gotten you can say it’s GT5.5. GT6 should prove to be far more capable.

  8. Oyashiro-sama

    After hearing ppl complaining about the track, I just dropped by to say that I love the track. Sarthe is my all time favorite. But I can understand the Chaparral anger. Wish I could use that Ford GT.

    1. Zuel

      I agree with you on Halcyon925, it’s the demon on the PP system. It’s also annoying that a lot of people are unable to use a car with a stock motor, a turbo or supercharger or lowering the power below 70% with the power limiter pending on PP or weight added to the car.

      Can anyone run the cars within their means? Oh never mind “My game I’ll play it the way I want” Same old song and dance.

    2. Terronium-12

      I see the issue now, thanks for clearing that up!

      Zuel, I’m not sure I really understand your gripe. You’re asking if people are capable of running the events within their own means, but wouldn’t the “I’ll do it my want” falls directly in line with that?

      Or are you making a case for those still using hybridized vehicles? That I would understand.

    3. Zuel

      I’m sorry if I was misunderstood, I was speaking along the line of the cars means. With the race car events, take a race car with a stock motor no added parts for power, meaning not adding a stage 1, 2 or 3 motor upgrade pending on the race car, adding a larger turbo or a supercharger. Taking a properly tuned street car within its means to the TT and see how well you can do with a nice setup. Or lower the power of a car out of its means to meat a PP number so you can see how fast you can be. Some people if not a lot have found around the lower pp numbers by tuning the transmission to the pp. With the PP along with the power limiter all we see is a one car TT or someone trying to find that edge car. There’s no identity anymore, now that I think about it there never was.

    4. Zuel

      If you take a step back and think about it some we all have been doing the same thing with the power limiter and the pp system since it was interdicted in GT5 Prologue. That’s almost six years, six years of taking cars, race cars and overly powering them. Taming them with the power limiter so we can get that edge or find that edge car, six years of not know what can be done with the race cars with a stock motor or a properly tuned street car.

      Will the same be in GT6?

    5. Swagger897

      yes… the demo had their own version of PP but I believe it was named PD? I know for sure that it wasnt PP though…

    6. sepulturite

      Remove the power limiter and the ability to add ballast and the problem is solved. I hope both aren’t in gt6.
      I only ever run rooms where me and my friends run non power limited and no ballast races, and the racing is always better.

    7. infamousphil

      It was difficult to get visitors to my HighPerformanceStreet room to agree to certain hp/kg regulations. And it’s mind boggling to see PD let their pp system go without being restricted along side the aforementioned hp/kg limiters this long. The 2J will remain boss until they to allow all the limiters to be used together. I don’t mind the pp system as much as I did in the past, but if they continue to ignore this discrepancy in GT6… which car will be the new 600pp champ?

    8. Zuel

      @infamousphil

      I’ve joined your lobby, had a good time with the cars as well. Though what lost my interest was seeing all the cars tuned with stage 3 motors and adding weight to compensate for the added power. It was the same for I when running cars with set tuning rules to make them even.

    1. Pit Crew

      Actually 3 weeks in a row doodlemonopoly if your counting the Ferrari F1 race seasonal, but yeah, quite odd for sure…
