The WRS Ties into GT Academy for Week 71

GT Academy Event 8-5 is the Platform for This Week’s WRS!

GTPlanet’s Official Registry is hosting a competition within the GT Academy, as everyone works hard to improve their times in the final week of competition.  Even if you don’t have the speed to make the top 32 in your country, you can compete to compare your times to your own division, and gain credit for all the hard work you’ve put into your lap.  This will also provide a unique opportunity for those who do not live in a participating country.

Check out the main event thread for specifics and discussion.   We’re making many exceptions to our normal rules this week, in order to accommodate as many racers as possible.  Although you need to be part of the registry to participate, we are not requiring participants to use their GTP_Tag account this week, and unlike most WRS weeks, we’re allowing participants to share their total lap time in the public thread.

The deadline for this week’s race is Monday, June 25th,  and only qualified, GTP_Registry Members are allowed to participate.  If you are eligible and decide to run this week’s event, be sure to post your lap time in the thread, to compare to your fellow drivers and see how you stack up on our leaderboard.

wouldn’t it be cool if your PS3 RLODed on you during the final rounds of GT Academy? Well, I’m here to tell you, it’s not.

It’s being reballed as we speak and hopefully will be back to me by friday- leaving me a whole weekend of major grindage to try and top HuskyGT and TokoTurismo’s times.

    : )

Even though YLOD is the right term, the correct term should be RLOD since it’s that flashing red light what really tells you that something is wrong with the PS3. The yellow light just appears for a fraction of a second before the flashing red light.

thanks fellas. hopefully you see me on your lists this weekend.

and I REALLY hope, that if I don’t get it back in time, that I still may be able to unlock Motegi for use in GT5 after it’s all over. Good luck and speed to you all..

I have to say that it was a lot of fun driving around Motegi for almost an hour. But I reached my limit and can’t really improve the times. 1:34 something was the best I could manage and I don’t think I’m close to the best players here.

I managed a 1.33 with my controller, but that lap included alot of overstering correcting, times where I was way too late on the gas & obviously having to contend with the hinderance of using a controller.

After studying other people’s laps, I feel I might crack 1.31- the times the top people are putting up – when using my wheel. Maybez.

Yeah, the thing is that I’m not that good at driving fast with a drift/powerslide style. My best time was achieved with the back end of the Fairlady bolted firmly into the ground the whole trail.

I use DS3 only since I don’t have a wheel. I really don’t know if I would be faster with it.

Not competing, but good luck and have fun to all the competitors.

In particular to my good pal, who I won’t name.
