Win a Trip to the GT5 European Launch Party in Madrid

Gran Turismo 5 will be officially unveiled at an exclusive European launch party in Madrid, Spain, on October 26th and – if you’re creative enough – you can be part of it! Sony is hosting a contest on Facebook (open to residents of UK, Ireland, Germany, France, Spain, and Portugal), inviting you to re-create the game’s Photo Travel mode in real life, with your own ride:

For a chance to win this fantastic opportunity to attend the GT5 launch, just send us your most imaginative photo of a car in an unusual location. […] We want you to show us what you can do with a camera to recreate your own Photo Travel Mode. We’re looking for real creativity!

Winners from each country receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Madrid for the party, complete with airport pickup in a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. Click here to register and get started – but hurry, the last date for photo submissions is October 17th. Good luck, and please let me know if you win!

I wonder if this is still happening?? Could be something of a sour atmosphere now. You could be right, maybe this is the venue for the new release date to be announced.

  1. dani_corvette

hey guys I live in Madrid!! so I’ll go and see what’s going on around there :) Hopefully I’ll be able to record some footage and share it with all the GTP community.

  2. FrancisBenjamin

PD clearly favors Europe and Asia for all their marketing, tournaments and contests… can’t blame them, that is where most of their money is coming from…

    1. Spaghettimonster

didnt they say they were visiting pd as well? didnt see it in this video. so i keep thinking a lot is missing in this.

  3. Lotus496

It sucks they don’t have things like this in the U.S. I have a competitive shot of a Ferrari 458 Italia that hopefully would have got me my first trip overseas. I just wish I spoke fluent spanish.

  4. GT'ireland

that would be a nice couple of days to spend away.as i live in ireland i could take a short flight over for a look..not long to go now fellow GT fanatics..the wait is almost over

    1. GTP_Sphinx

It’s all down to which countries decide to take part. Also, competition rules are different from one country to the next, thus making it impossible for some countries to take part even if they wanted to. Another reason could be that some have decided to run their own promotion.

This contest is a little more realistic than the last one advertised for the US…IF you’re showing your car at SEMA let us know and we might hook you up with a free game.
Honestly, how many folks are going to show a car in Las Vegas in Oct? How many of them are real GT5 enthusiasts?
That contest seems even more exclusive than the contest for the Spain party.

    ¡Buena suerte!

Aaaaaargh, I live in Spain, but I’m 5 hours from Madrid, I my father wouldn’t take me even if it was 5 minutes away.

  7. TakeshiSkunk

It’s a shame I can’t enter from the US, my friend just got a brand new Fiesta last Saturday. I’m sure I could have found somewhere interesting to put the shiny little thing.

I’m anxious to see the entries :) Keep us posted!

Metallic blue…I think the name might be Vibrant Blue?

We’ve been having a lot of fun with it, it’s actually the first manual I’ve had access to. It’s a lot to get used to but at least it’s fun work. I look forward to the day that it’s second nature :p

The steering response is great. Suspension could be tighter, and in quick steering inputs it can start to wallow a bit, but tires will help with that. It doesn’t have much power but it’s light enough that it never feels sluggish. All in all it’s a very fun car to drive.

    1. TakeshiSkunk

Between GT5, DJMax Portable 3, and Rock Band 3, this is by far the longest October I can remember. The bulk of my excitement is definitely GT5, but if just one of the other games would come out it’d make the wait easier :(

    1. bucketseat

I don’t think that a Robin Reliant will be selected as a winner…just in case you were contemplating submitting that lovely little jewel.

    1. Hoodie

Yeah, a lad in the office had a curry last night!

Seriously though, unless you live somewhere special you’re going to struggle aren’t you? Shame you can’t use special effects.

  8. GTP_Dessy

What’s with people be too cool for facebook? I use it to keep in touch with old school friends, current college friends and the many other people I’ve met on my travels. There’s nothing narcissistic about it if you use if for the right reasons

  9. Wits

I think Holland is not included for this contest because we don’t have proper photomode locations in Holland? haha. No, why are we not included?

    1. FDM73

No photomode locations in Holland? All the japanees visit Kinderdijk and Volendam, so one day they have to be in the GT photomode.

    1. HugoStiglitz_420

I just hate the fact that it caught on. We already had myspace, and myspace could do more. These “wall” things are retarded & don’t even get me started on how gay you are on Twitter unless you’re famous. I’m glad people get screwed over because of Facebook, that’s what people get for posting their entire lives on it.

    1. Joe J

What?! I’d swap blighty for OZ in a heartbeat! For god’s sake, you’ve got winters as warm as our summers, and blue skies!

    2. DarthTurismo

      yeah cmon maxiboy….. i wouldn’t live anywhere else…
do i love travelling the world???? of course…. but….
(big cliche coming) I still call australia home!!! hahaha

happy to wait for GT5 the final version! got my G27 and wheelstand pro in position…. dont wanna spoil the huge suprises in store for me by playing it or seeing it at a launch party even though i know it would be plenty fun..

    3. HugoStiglitz_420

I’m slighty exaggerating but every single Australian girl I meet & everyone I see on TV is freakin gorgeous!!! I’d love to live there just for that. I know there must be fugly girls there but from what I’ve heard, most Australian chicks are good looking. No surprise after knowing all the famous ones

  10. Geminione

So, who else feel’s like moving to Europe for Gran Turismo6.

    I’m sure thinking about it.

By the way, I’m just kiddi’n.

    1. Dyemonic

Kidding? Why. Moving to Europe (from the US at least) would be a blessing. Not anything political here, but more racing! Living in England or Germany would be awesome for me. Good bye NASCAR, hello F1, WRC, Moto GP, Le Mans, DTM, etc……

    2. Geminione

True! Sure like Finland Rally Racing is amaZing.
      F1 is supreme
And I didn’t know Le mans was in Europe 2 cool

    3. Dyemonic

You didn’t? Please tell me you have heard of 24hrs of Sarthe. That is one of the best races all year (in my opinion at least).

    4. Geminione

Sure, I’ve heard of it. Seen it on tv. Who hasn’t.

And FYI I,m from southern California so I head up to Laguna Seca Every Chance I get.

My favorite Configuration of Le Sarthe is the one without those chicanes on the straight-away.

    5. Sum1s2pid

@maximumattack – I don’t know… I just scoured the internet (yes, the whole internet!) trying to find examples of girls with the accent, and I rather like it.

      O.O

    6. GTsimms

Yeah, that would not be so bad moving from the US. There are some hot women in other parts of the world. Here in America the people are getting almost as large as cows!

    7. elrouss

GTsimms : I hope you don’t include Canada when you say “here in America” because most of the women here (I’m in Quebec) are hot as hell ;)

    8. Bernd

If you like accents, search YouTube for Nightwish with Tarja Turunen. Nightwish is an awesome symphonic-metal band from Finland. Tarja sings like an angel and has that typical accent of Finns talking English

    9. robert

@ maximumattack…… the north east accent is the best accent in britain, closely followed by the yorkshire accent….all others suck including my own black country accent, i wont go on about the scouse accent coz thats just vile

    10. Fredyellowone

      @BWX

“I’ll keep my 1st and 2nd amendments, thank you very much.”

Yeah, stay in the US, with your ******* guns.

    1. ebhk

rydeen# I live in Denmark too. -.-, why is our country always overlooked, when we are one of the countries that have the most PS3 compared to population?

    2. bucketseat

      @ebhk & rydeen,
My grandfather was born in Denmark and I’m not eligible either…as I live the US!
You could send me your photos as I’ve never had the please to visit that beautiful little country…not sure if there would be any prize though :(

    3. bucketseat

@robert…is there a felony conviction in your past? I’ve heard it’s a lot harder to get a passport with a criminal record ;0
