Gran Turismo 5′s Car Pack 3, Route X DLC Full Details

Gran Turismo 5 January 12th, 2012 by Jordan

The new GT5 downloadable content that leaked a few days ago was confirmed earlier today by the North American and European PlayStation Blogs, who provided a few more details and pricing information.

As expected, “Car Pack 3″ will include the following vehicles and will be available in the PlayStation Store for $5.99 (USD) / €5.99 / £4.79.

  • Nissan Leaf G 2011
  • Aston Martin V12 Vantage 2010
  • Volkswagen [Beetle] 1200 1966
  • Jaguar XJR-9 LM Racecar 1988
  • Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 2011
  • Mini Mini Cooper S Countryman (R60) 2011

The “Speed Test Course Pack” will also become available at that time for $3.99 (USD) / €3.99 / £3.19, which includes the Route X test course and an apparent new “Speed Test” mode that allows you to exactly measure “things like your mile, quarter-mile, acceleration, and g-force”.

The blogs also confirm you’ll be able to use Route X online, though it’s still not clear if this will enable formal online drag races as desired by many fans.

Polyphony Digital has also posted an online maintenance notice for 03:00 GMT on January 17th, so expect the 2.03 update to go live shortly thereafter.

As for the DLC’s availability, the North American PlayStation Blog confirms it will be available next Tuesday, January 17. However, the European blog re-iterates the original release date of Wednesday, January 18. As always, stay tuned to GTPlanet and our forums for specific, local availability information.

Think ill pass on this DLC. hopin for a more diverse DLC soon. seems PD is gonna be consistent bout the cars they r gonna put in the game and none of them r cars I prefer. Having grown up in General Motors and Mopar vehicles i can see i wont be reliving those childhood naustalgia moments through this game (maybe GT6) which is sad when u think bout all the cars that coulda made it to this game over other cars. Im a muscle car nut and thought this game would at least have a Cadillac CTS (even the 2004/5 woulda been a great addition) and hows bout a specialty shop for American and european cars. heck europe was racin cars b4 my great great grand dad was even thought of but not much love for them on the racin or tuning side either.

If anyone complaining about the price of the track finds themselves sipping on a steaming mocha-latte-chino in the morning, please consider the time and effort put into the track by a team of college educated programmers; coding, testing, finding and fixing bugs etc, vs. the couple of minutes the barrista spent on your coffee. How long will you enjoy that drink for? 30 minutes? I know I will spend more time testing my cars than that. As for a buck a car, that’s hot wheel prices. If you don’t value the dlc as much as your coffee, don’t buy it!

can not wait for this especially for the Lamborghini and Aston Martin. I really don’t think its that much money if you play GT5 a lot, but if you don’t like the cars in the DLC then I can understand why it seems a bit expensive. atleast they don’t make us pay 15 dollars for 4 cars like some company does for map packs looking at you activision

I’m still on the fence with Car Pack 2 and these new DLC packs coming out, but it’s not ‘cos of the price. I just picked up GT5 last month (don’t ask me why I waited so long-been a fan since the first one and I still own GT2, GT3, and GT4), and I picked up the Bundle Pack and an extra Paint Pack for $15+tax (got a whole mess of cars, paint, gear, and tracks). New cars are not that interesting to me right now ‘cos a good 80-90% of the cars in the game are new to me right now, lol! I do look forward to driving that Lambo’ and Aston Martin though one day. I also hope future release DLC packs contain a bit more content than 6 cars and 1 track, but it’s all good to me if they keep releasing a wide variety of cars. I did pay an extra $2 just so I could get the FT-86 II Concept ’11 and some extra paint, so $10 for 6 cars and a track is not too much of a stretch for me. I don’t really get all the whining either. If you don’t like the price, don’t buy it and enjoy the game as if they don’t exist; that’s what I did with all the DLC Map Packs for MW2, and I enjoyed that game just fine without the new maps ’til they went on sale. I’m sure once I get my garage filled a bit more, get some of my fav’s in my garage from the cars that are already in the game, and complete the game, I’ll be picking up whatever PD puts out on day 1 if the price is reasonable like it is now to keep enjoying some fresh new cars and tracks.

As for my wish list (since several others have done it), it’s quite simple:
Saleen (all of ‘em! Premium Saleen street and race cars would be sweet)
    Shelby Mustangs (all of ‘em!)
Mustangs from every decade (GT’s Cobras, Race Cars, etc. IIRC in GT2, I used to love driving my screamin’ yellow ’98 Cobra and the SR Widebody. An ’03-’04 Terminator Cobra in street and race trim would just about bring a tear to my eye)
Trans-Am and SCCA cars, from vintage to newer models
    Ferrari’s are always nice
Porsche (RUF’s are great, but we need more of the originals, and they need to be Premium)

Beautiful wish list of cars though dont expect that porsche. the relationship between them and Polyphony digital is bad enuff that we may never see a legitimate porsche in this game ever.

I will not buy this DLC. A car here in Europe costs about 1,27$ and I’m no more willing to pay more for the same performance.

Easy, don’t buy it. Simple as that. Bye bye…. *Walks away through the GT Planet Hall*

    Looks pretty cool
personally i love the game, i know everyone has likes and dislikes but i belive that we should all “take the rough with with smooth”, “shit with the cream” etc

You dont like the look of it? .. Ok … dont download it :D
Personally if they offered us 5/6 of the worst cars in the game I’d still buy it just to support PD, in the hope that mine and everyone else’s support, supports the future devolepment of the “GT” franchise

Now seeing as everybody like’s to post a wish list id like to do mine

More a-spec lvls – maybe another 40 as this gives us somthing to work towards, although if this happened we may just find ourselfs on the grind even more but id still go for it

An option to access the garage whilst in the practice track list?

Working fuel and temp gauges in the cockpit veiw? (not really important) but would add somthing extra to a “simulator” and yes the time to do this would be better spent elsewhere

More endurance races or even an endurance race creator?

Garage “folders” so we could shift our cars for certain purposes

Would like to sell any car I own although just being able to get rid of the excess DLC’s would do

And my biggest wish… would love to see some sort of marker that lets you know wich cars you have “limited the engine power”
as im forever checking because im to lazy to correct each car after ive tampered with it

All in all Great game and looking forward to DLC
    Thanks PD :)

Hey does anybody know how to put the the cars in neutral because when I was watching a video on YOUTUBE hey puts the car in neutral???????

I would say you need a steering wheel with pedals and gearbox, I’ve got a G27 logitech wheel and it has a clutch on the pedals and a manual 6 speed box (as well as paddles behind wheel) so selecting neutral is pretty simple.

Hmm, I do think DLC3 is on the expensive side, but what the heck, I’ll get it anyway, it’s not like I get another PS3 games at all. As for future DLC possibilities…. I’d like to see
    Citroen SM, lovely French classic
Toyota Supra iv, really need the premium version of this.
    Renault Sport Spyder
    Piaggio Ape
    Audi Sport Quattro
Ferrari 308/328 GTB, I wanna play Magnum PI or even 288 GTO!!
    Alfasud
    Triumph TR6
Mini Cooper proper original one, not BMW
    Some 1970s Holden Ute
Kia Soul, well I like them

Anyone else fancy a BMW E30 M3 as a DLC car, not only an awesome road car but an established race car in RALLY, DTM & TOURING CAR spec. Probably be quite a good drifter too! Not that I can drift too good but someone will be tail happy in this classic. Also Silverstone would be a nice track to race.

Yes this would be a good time to put out the Senna cars with the movie being out, great movie you can watch it at the play station store or Netflix and put out the 93 senna F1car, I really need those old tracks I just can’t switch back to the older games anymore because they just don’t cut it compared the gt5

    Racecarmanjindelt

I’m not going to do it, I bought the other one’s but I don’t want any of these cars or the track and 3.99 for one track is just wrong, or at least a track that I don’t care about, I just don’t care about this dlc this time around, they really need to give us all the old tracks and cars from the old games, F1 Senna cars from gt3

Let’s see….What game have I played the most over the last past year plus? Ooh, I know, GT5! How much money have I saved since I didn’t buy near as many games due to GT5′s ever evolving experience? More than $240! Me thinks I can afford some DLC, and I don’t care if it ends up costing $60 over the course of the year. It will all be additional content than what was in game when I bought it, and I understand Kaz said the game would be finished with time. Yay for more DLC.

Gee who didn’t see the test course coming?? next they’ll want us to buy Apricot Hill And Special Stage Route 11!! Guess i’ll have to buy it since i have nothing left to do in the game I own all the cars thus far!! why do they keep adding cars and tracks?? why not increase the lvl’s you need to gain??? like 99 i’ve been 40 in aspec and bspec for awhile now!!
