Gran Turismo 6 Revealed: Trailer, Screenshots, & First Details

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DlaBkpi7vCI

Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. today announced Gran Turismo®6 (GT6™), the latest version of PlayStation®’s best-selling franchise, will be released in Holiday, 2013. The news was revealed today by legendary Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi at an event held to celebrate 15 years of the 70-million-selling series.

GT6 for PlayStation®3 will bring new levels of authenticity to ‘the Real Driving Simulator’ as well as introducing stunning new tracks and cars and a revised user interface. A new compact game engine will improve operation and increase the flexibility to expand it with downloadable content. Meanwhile, the game is also set for expanded connectivity with other devices such as smart phones and tablets and increased social and community functions.

All of the cars and tracks from Gran Turismo®5, which has sold over 10 million copies since launching in 2010, will be retained in GT6. But notable new additions to the already impressive line-up of historic cars, road cars and the latest race cars, brings the total car list to 1,200 at launch, with new cars set to be continually added online. Several thousand aerodynamic parts and custom wheels will be available for almost all cars, and players can personalize their own custom cars in game to the greatest ever level possible.

The UK’s famous Silverstone Circuit will be just one of seven new locations in Gran Turismo 6, taking the total to 33, with 71 different layouts available, 19 of them brand new. There will also be regular additions of new tracks set to be made available online. The improved course maker function will provide gorgeous scenery spanning several tens of square kilometers including the magnificent backdrop of Andalucía.

The theme of Gran Turismo’s innovative collaborations with partner companies will increase with the inception of GT6. A number of exciting new projects that blur the line between the virtual and real will be announced in the run up to the game’s launch. Not least of these is GT Academy, a collaboration with Nissan to unearth real racing driver talent that first ran in 2008. It was announced during the event that the competition returns for its biggest ever year in 2013, with the entry mechanic set to take place on an exclusive GT6 demo in July.

Other notable partnerships in the development of GT6 have been with tire manufacturer Yokohama Rubber and suspension company KW Automotive. Both companies are active in the commercial car industry and in racing, and they have acted as technical development partners for the game’s new physics engine, for its tire and suspension kinematic modeling, creating an even more realistic experience for GT fans.

“It is amazing to think that it is 15 years since we first released Gran Turismo,” explained Kazunori Yamauchi, during the announcement at Silverstone Circuit. “Things have changed a lot since then and now Gran Turismo 6 is a further evolution of my dream.  We’re pleased to deliver GT6 to PlayStation 3 as we have a very loyal community on that platform. However, we have refactored the game to make it very flexible and expandable, with a view to making many future developments. I am very pleased with everything about the new game and the new additions, but the launch will be only the beginning for GT6. The game will continue to develop throughout its life. I already have many ideas for things I want to achieve in the next 15 years of Gran Turismo!”

The celebration of 15 years of Gran Turismo event at Silverstone included a demo of GT6 featuring the famous circuit. Guests were able to play the game in the familiar circular Gran Turismo race pods before having a chance to take to the real track in cars provided by Audi, Ford, Jaguar, KTM, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan and Toyota.

Further news about Gran Turismo 6 will be revealed at the forthcoming E3 and Gamescom events.

  1. Crook

So we’re getting GT5.5? This is basically the game that GT5 SHOULD have been. I guess PD wanted to release a Prologue for this game, 3 years early.

  2. VexatuVex

I wish Kaz would pay attention to Forza 4 engine sounds and stop importing vacuum cleaners into GT6 :(

    1. FormulaKimball

Amen to that – FM4’s engine sounds are vastly better than GT5 on most cars. FM4 has some that are pretty annoying though (Aston Martin DBR9).

    2. dannaryan

Actually there are a few videos on youtube that prove the opposite.. Although i do agree that some cars do sound a bit… meh.. Youtube Lexus LFA forza vs GT5. If there was one thing that they could do to improve the engine sounds it would be to quieten that damn whining sound when you view the cars from the front.. Even without the race box you can still hear a quiet whine that ruins the sound.

  3. Stoop Solo

Man, I really hope they bring back the standing starts. I don’t like all the rolling starts that GT5 had, I miss being able to burn away from the grid. That’s my greatest hope.

Also, I’d quite like it if they brought back the Midfield Raceway and Red Rock circuits from GT2.

    Don’t ask for much, do I. :P

Lookin’ forward to more GT/Logitech G27 goodness!

    1. Stoop Solo

…I should add that the standing start thing is my greatest hope for GT6, not my greatest hope in life. That would be sad. :D

  4. BogartQ

i just hope i can drive straight roads at high speeds this time with my steering wheel. and, i hope they took my suggestion of a skip music button in-game.

    1. Logoncal21

IS THIS CAR EVEN EXIST?! i mean, from what i heard, the C7 is going to start on production in 2014.
if you are meaning the concept then skip what i’ve said

  5. FILTERONLINE

Let’s hope they finaly bring us a sophisticated Paint Shop! with multi-colour paint workes, Decals from all the Manufactures & miscellaneous other pieces to stick on the cars…to win these things as prizes like the helmets & Suits in GT5 would be cool i think…

SOOOO PLEASE MR. Yamauchi, don’t let us stand in the rain 8)…

  6. BoosterKiller

If that Audi Quattro doesn’t sound like the beast it’s supposed to, I’m going to kill someone!

  7. GETEDA

Better rally tracks this time, waiting a new trailer about the snow or dirt.
Yes its pain, damage more extended, engine, parts, etc.

  8. infamousphil

I just watched the GT5 night trailer. And again reminded to not believe the HYPE. Always the PR attack on my retinal senses… the announcement video is a polished version of GT6 but not realised during gameplay. The actual gameplay should be an improvement to GT5 but no where close to what we’ve been perview to date. What Jordan(?) played and what’s in the demo will be a more accurate representation.

No, I don’t do abbreviated GT, but cain’t help but feel excited ;)

  9. DJ Mawds

What’s the betting the sound will still be rubbish though?
Every car sounds like a vacuum cleaner. Sort it PD.

    1. BulkZerker

But they lovelingly recorded those sounds back in the day of GT… and recorded some new stuff for fords for GT5. (or am I the only one that noticed that?)

  10. Ferrari Enthusi

This is fricken insane!!! I am soooooooo psyched about GT6!! I fricken can’t wait! Gran Turismo is one of those game series you can’t stop playing. It’s been a while since GT5 came out & I am still not tired of it. That’s the power of Gran Turismo on a car enthusiast! haha

    1. TokoTurismo

I’m just as hyped as you are, haha. :D I soooo can’t wait to create my own tracks from the improved course maker, to be based on Enthusia’s tracks. I’m so hyped for GT6!!! XD

  11. austin4500

I hope the add he ferrari 458 gt3 , 2013 dodge srt gts-r, audi r8 le mans ultra, McLaren mp4-12c gt3 and the new corvette c6r. ( and any other gt cars

    1. sangdude82

may be they can add Sebastien Loeb Racing’s McLaren MP4-12C GT3 (it looks really good with Red Bull livery) since his WRC rally car was featured in GT5.

  12. mcalva98

READ!!!! at 0:31 underneath high speed ring(to the left) Special stage route 11 is there!!!!

  13. sorrentoandy

I hope dirt racing plays a bigger part in the single player career. Will be interesting to see what the new forza has to offer on may 21st

  14. GT911

We will have to wait until we see the final release I hope no delay on it, but too bad that I don’t feel excited about this, I think this is just and expansion to GT5, and regarding to GT5 I feel like it is in some way out of date… I think I am more interested on what is going to be Project Cars or Drive Club. The standard cars never should be in the game in the first place! And if they say 1200 cars for GT6 the logic tells me there will the 800 standard cars again… The only features apealing are the creation of your own series or championships online, I hope they add all the options for them, damage, appropriate system to handle people that is just crashing! And stuff like this, the other stuff is not exciting for me by the moment…

    1. ScotteDawg

There will be far less than 800 standard cars! Think, if they’re adding
200 they will ALL be premium cars – they will NOT add standards! AND,
as we saw with the Lamborghini being turned into a premium, PD
have worked at turning MOST cars premium!

      Now, I can’t be sure about this, but I think there’ll be between 400 & 500 standard cars…

Then we will get DLC’s which will give us only premiums again and,
as time goes on, we will get updated cars (standard turned premium)
that will either be prizes, free DLC or included in a Car Pack! I guess
that the cars list will be more like 100 S to 1160 P (1260 in total) by
the end of the first year!

    1. Nicky_loves_GT5

Omg…the game was recently announced, and people are already bitching about adding the cars they want… if you like the game just buy it, dont tread PD.

  15. kollosson

What we know so far sounds very very positive, we all know Kaz was never pleased with GT5 and although it had many accolades it also had its fair share of critisizms and even as a huge GT fan i had to admit to the problems and niggles. Enter GT6 and with Kaz saying he is very pleased with the game, to me, that says that GT6 is going to be the next gen Gran Turismo we have all been waiting for, the game GT5 should have been. Kaz stated ‘ they have refactored the game to make it very flexible and expandable, this could mean a number of things one of which could be that the game engine has been made in such a way that either it can be played and upscaled on PS4 or slapped onto PS4 in proper next gen glory and continued on that platform? its a possibilty but at the very least we have a new GT that looks like its going to be the best in the series to date, i for one can not wait : )

    1. ScotteDawg

@Austinford1994 – we get the demo in July! GT6 release date is (supposedly) November 28th.

  16. Jar31Lar

I just noticed on the S1 they spelled ‘Rohrl” wrong. (“Roehrl” is how PD has it, maybe Audi spelled it wrong on their car.. [benefit of the doubt])

  17. toospiciecc

I’ve just got 1 thing to say,YES,YES,YES,YES,YES,YES!!!!!!!!! Regular DLC’s on GT6,SILVERSTONE and more cars!!!!!!

    1. infamousphil

I don’t dig DLC. It’s like they didn’t finish the game then it’s not enough, over a 4yr period, not enough. ;)

    2. Quakebass

If its all noes content, it’s fine.

If its day one DLC like what CM and EA do, then I’ll be quite upset. But that doesn’t seem like PD’s style.

    3. ScotteDawg

@infamousphil – DLC is to keep the cars current! As manufacturers make new cars, we get them (the 2014 Corvette is a good example)! All DLC cars are premium! Now, if you don’t want DLC’s, I can’t force you to buy them or download the free ones but, after all is said and done, you will NOT have the complete game! Also, if you do online racing and a track is chosen that you don’t own, then you CAN’T race on that track… Yet another reason to buy and/or download ALL of the DLC’s offered!

    1. infamousphil

Heck yeah… there’s about 5 or 6 other 80s rally cars in GT5. Let’s hope they all get upgraded to premium! Oh yeah… and a proper rally event would have the entrants starting in interval. Not so to have all behind you eating dirt. That was just plain disrespectful.

  18. forzaturismo

SO,,,,, no more update and DLC for Gran Turismo 5 ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

    1. nascarfn

probably not but who cares GT6 is coming out in like 6 months!!!!! i’d rather they stop updating gt5 so they can can gt6 perfect anyways

  19. GTbyPlaystation

I personally think they were very smart (although slightly late) in their decision. Releasing Gran Turismo 6 on the PS3, right before the switch to next-gen consoles, is a smart move. They can provide fans with a totally new game to enjoy for a couple of years while they (hopefully) use their time and new hardware to push the series to the limit in Gran Turismo 7.

On a side note – I hope those PD Scouts at Mt. Panorama have been hard at work and been able to implement it into GT6! One new track is already revealed (Silverstone), hopefully one of the others is Mt. Panorama!

  20. Spannermonkey33

Some nice new cars, but why recycle the cars from GT5? I’m not a fan of the standard cars, much rather have all premium cars and less of them

    1. StiggyGT

Same here, a lot of the cars (standard) are going to sit there and collect dust just like they do in GT5. Still, if they convert more LMP racers to premium, I can live with that.

    2. infamousphil

As a fan of the series, I’m happy with the multitude of cars in the game. The more premiums the better.

  21. SillyBillyP

The GT6 announcement doesn’t say anything about AI. Nor is there any mention of improving races (ie no more rabbit chases)

  22. AERO_HDT

Mixed bag for me, this news. Glad GT6 is coming so soon, but you can pretty much bet your left boot that it’ll be delayed by a few months, if not longer. With the PS4 being released at the same time, I really can’t see much of a shelf-life for GT6 at all. It’s supposed to be a flagship title, how much support is this game *really* going to get in 2014?

On the plus side, I don’t think standard cars are going to be featured at all. I remember Kaz saying something along the lines of Premium cars being “too detailed” for the PS3 and should have been left for the next-gen platform. Could it be that PD have upgraded the Standard cars to Semi-Premium, and downgraded the Premiums to a similar level? Happy medium for all, and development time for modelling a car would also be reduced, allowing PD to effectively “keep up” with rapidly changing competitors and automotive markets.

There is no way, in 2013, that PD would release a title featuring graphic models lifted from a 10 year old game. :)

    1. Rionmoon

Something everybody had better realize is that this is going to be GT5.5 more than a real GT6. I would call it “what GT5 was suppose to be released as but the GT fan base wasn’t going to wait nine years for Kas and his PD henchmen to get their act together”. That title wouldn’t fit well on the box.

YES it’s going to feature standard cars!

Do you really think PD had spent the last three years upgradeing all it’s Skylines, S2000s and Civics to premium? Why put that much effort into each car when a new PS platform is around the corner and that console is where you’re really going to focus your efforts.

I’m looking forward to GT6 and I’m going to preorder from GameStop as soon as I can but I’m not expecting radical changes, just the game I SHOULD have payed for three years ago.

    2. Spannermonkey33

I’m with you Rionmoon, I have a feeling GT6 won’t be fully released until the PS4 arrives. This seems more like a stopgap game to boost flagging sales to me

    3. Nuuj

The way I see it, since most of the Standards are simply Copies of each other, they’d simply have to have one Premium Model of an S2000, Miata, or Skyline, and Copy that Premium Model-and change the color of the Door Handle and Badges (since that was the only difference between most of them anyway lol)..

I agree that it would be bad to release a game that has PS2 Modeled Cars at the same time that the PS4 is ready for Launch..

  23. Quakebass

    E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3

Let’s not make any assumptions or jump to conclusions until

    E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3 E3

    1. Rionmoon

I’m assuming there WILL BE Skylines, Civics, Lancers and S2000s (to name a few) as the bulk of the car selection.

I AM assuming there will be the same tracks AGAIN and again and again.

What I HOPE is that Apricot Hill and Seattle will return.

    2. Quakebass

Well, I meant aside from the obvious. There’s no way PD WON’T include S2000s, GTRs, lancers, etc.

I’m talking about standard cars. We have no info on it at all. Only that “all cars from Gt5 will transfer” – that doesn’t mean they’ll transfer as standard cars; two were already shown as premium. And I don’t think PD will do the same thing with duplications.

  24. Nuuj

Why all the negativity so soon?

We have no clue whether there will be an abundance of Standard Vehicles, or if all the previous cars are just being Recycled, I don’t believe that they would just reuse the Line-Up from the Game they Released in 2010 (even that Line-Up was slightly aged for it’s release time), they would have to have a fair amount of ’12, ’13, and ’14 Models of Vehicles in their Car List or GT6 would be a laughing stock.. Have some faith, they are far smarter than that..

Furthermore I’m sure they’ve heard enough gripes about the “Chase the Rabbit” problem, and have tried something to change it.. I can’t guarantee any of this, but in my mind (seeing Polyphony’s previous responses to feedback and desire to be the best Simulator on the Market) I see them doing no less than this, their competition is much too stiff now to Recycle all the Standard and ’09 ’10 Premiums and do nothing about the underwhelming AI of the last game..

We all need to remember that they love their games, they are major sources of Pride for Kaz and PD as a whole, GT5 is still the most Supported/Updated/Patched Game in the History of Console Gaming, and they even gave GT5 a 2.0 Update, along with a few free items that most other Companies would have slapped a price tag on and called DLC..

Yes they did screw some things up in GT5, but remember that it wasn’t entirely their fault–it wasn’t released on the Time Table they had planned, and perhaps since GT6 is their 2nd Shot on the PS3 it will be as GT4 was to GT3 on the PS2–a major revamp and improvement..

    Let’s have some faith here..

    1. Quakebass

This is what I’ve been trying to point out –

This was a very vague presentation, as it was SUPPOSED to be – we didn’t get much more insights on many of the games shown at the February PS4 conference, why should we get more here?

E3 is where we’ll learn more. MUCH more.

    2. MuoNiuLa

The article clearly says all cars from GT5 will be in this game. That to me is a dead give away that there will be standard cars in GT6.

    3. Nuuj

I do have to admit, they did say all Cars would return, but I’ve seen at least one of those Standard Versions which seems to appear in a Premium form now (the Countach), so I’m hoping that many of our Favorites will be converted as that one was, and hoping that this Lamborghini doesn’t count as one of the New Cars *face palm*

As I said, it would be a very big mistake on Polyphony’s behalf if their Line-Up isn’t updated with some current machinery, most of GT5’s Car List (in the “New Car” Dealerships) consisted of ’07, ’08, ’09, and only a few ’10 vehicles and that was 3 years ago; releasing with a New Car List like that would be disastrous appeal and competition wise, I don’t believe they will retain the Car List EXACTLY as is in GT5, most Car Brands have updated their Designs twice since the Models GT5 presented–many of their “Current Models” must be updated to ’13 and ’14 iterations..

And one would think they’d know better than skipping all of Ford, Audi, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Nissan, Honda, and Countless Other’s redesigns and updated Vehicles when the competition doesn’t miss a beat; it would be a horrible decision, the meat of GT has always been Vehicles through all the ages of Driving and Racing, but no Racing/Driving Game can release without an updated list of Current Selections..

  25. austindeckerGT5

Players can create their own personalised custom car in the game.

That is going to make things interesting^

    1. MadmuppGT

This also grabbed my attention too… Although I would assume its a livery editor instead of a full on car modeling.

Although full on car modeling would be sweet, but surely a whole other game in itself

    2. SnakeOfBacon

Hmm, I think there might be a livery editor, but the whole make your own car thing probably relates to the crazy amount of different aero parts and other such bodykit pieces and wheels etc. now, ENGINE SWAPS! I want those, I’ve been wanting them since I played GT3, wanted an Escudo engine in a V8 Vantage

  26. hobanator24

I am so sick of people complaining about standard cars! I feel that half of them didn’t even read the damn article! Didn’t any of you notice the 1974 Lamborghini Countach in the pictures? That was a STANDARD car in GT5 & now look at it! It looks immaculate! Seriously, if all you people are just going to complain whenever there is news on this site, then you don’t deserve to be here, or have a computer, or have a PS3, or anything to increase social interaction with the rest of the world. Just leave your negative thoughts & comments at the door!

    1. hobanator24

Very true, but I noticed that it is listed on IGCD as a 1968, rather than a 1973 like it was in GT5. I wonder why?

    2. MuoNiuLa

@hobanator24: 1) Quit being delusional. You really think 1200 cars will be upgraded to premium, given how long it takes to make a premium car? Where is common sense these days?. The Countach could easily be just one of a certain number of standard cars PD decided to make premium.

      2) Who are you to say what people can and can’t post? Until Jordan gives you the keys to this site, stop trying to censor people.

  27. mokalovesoulmat

I just wondering why a lot of people do not want X2010/11 is coming to GT6. Anyone can explain? Personally I want this car back to GT6…as a garage collection…and for driving sometimes.

    1. XTRGT

Cuz the X2010/2011 don’t exist in real life, that’s why people don’t wan’t the Red Bulls on GT6…

    2. Pit Crew

Its not so much the car, as the irresponsible users that troll online race lobbies looking to use it in say a 220 mph and Equal room.

    3. mokalovesoulmat

Well then I guess we have to wait until E3 to know whether the car is back or not…back or not, its fine then. (But I really want it back lol)

    4. Spannermonkey33

‘All of the cars and tracks …. will be retained in GT6’ Do read things properly people!

  28. dethringr

There’s no mention about the AI. I’m gonna assume that means we are gonna have same AI as the orginal GT from the PS. Also, there’s no mention of bonuses for owners of GT5. For example, if you own GT or GT3 and about GT2 or GT4, you got either money or you automatically got some licenses already. I hope we’ll get more info on the single player mode and hopefully more level racing field. Nothing sucks more then having 1 car thats way too fast, and 10 cars that are way too slow.

    1. Quakebass

Don’t assume anything. Wait until it’s revealed at E3. This wasn’t supposed to be a full unveil, with gameplay and every aspect shown. That’s what E3 is for – this was merely an announcement event, somewhat like the PS4 conference.

  29. infamousphil

‘… tens of square kilometes…’ and with ‘…new algorithms…? Not exactly “free hand” but hope this means I won’t have to spend hours cycling through layouts to minimize those awful blind corners.

  30. XxDARKRAIX

You know, the Tesla is probably not even going to be fast. But you know what. I don’t really care. It’s an amazing car.

  31. XxDARKRAIX

You know, the tesla is probably not even going to be fast. But you know what. I don’t really care. It’s an amazing car

    1. mokalovesoulmat

Huh? It is written “A new rendering engine that pushes the limits of the PS3” so they are using new their game engine, not GT5-based.

    2. Quakebass

“Rendering engine” is not the “Game engine” – It’s how the textures of objects works. Things that are farther away have low-res textures that will increase in resolution as they get closer to the in-game camera. It saves processing power, and it’s what all developers have been doing – optimizing the engines. That’s why Uncharted 3 has such quick and non-existant load times compare to the other games in the series.

  32. Need4Speed685

Now that this has been announced and the next Xbox reveal is less than a week away now, this is gonna potentially pressure Microsoft before their big event.

  33. jangelelcangry

I just hope that sony don’t use save data bug excuse to create stay connected dependencies and physics shift a la NFS between off and online mode.
aside from that it will be good. real or fake engine sounds. if not i will be extremely disappointed.

  34. montecarlo87

As Ryback would say. FEED ME MORE!!! This was just enough to wet our appetites for more details to come as the year progresses. I’m looking forward to it as long as they learned by looking at Forza’s car list. And of course the nearly 200 new cars aren’t going to be all Japanese cars.

  35. TokoTurismo

Sorry I was gone for awhile, but is there still BABIES whining about GT6? PD worked so hard for us to create this fantastic sequel, yet still theres BABIES whining for the sake of whining… All DAY I was so mad at those WHINY BRATS! DISAPPOINTED IN THIS COMMUNITY! >:(

    1. TokoTurismo

@HarVee Ohh. *Phew* I thought you agreed with omgitsbees who seeks to take me down. lol Sorry man. :) *Thumbs up*

    2. Pit Crew

TT may wear his heart on his sleeve but he’s cool with me. Keep being genuine TokoTurismo.

    3. MeanElf

Yeah Toko, continue to say what you feel – I like your posts and I know what you mean about the GT6 threads. I just had to back out today because it was stupid in there.

    4. TokoTurismo

@MeanElf It just saddens me but you’re right, the GT6 threads are just to much. :( I should try to keep out from certain threads though. I take back what I said about being disappointed in the community (mostly the complainers), but I wish someday to see GTPlanet a happy place again when at least more info or even when GT6 releases. :)

    5. MeanElf

:) Faith will move mountains man, but I fear it’ll take an armoury of C4 to shift some of those people…

      Hang on in there ;)

    6. TokoTurismo

I mean, not to the complainers who don’t use constuctive criticism but instead complaining (such as omgitsbees)… Everybody else are fine. :)

    1. HarVee

No one really knows. It has been speculated that is was either the 2013 Viper, 2012 Toyota 86, or the 2013 Aston Martin Vanquish.

  36. DYLAN777-is-not

Wtf is with gtplanet!? Everyone is so negative!! No one is celebrating theyre just complaining more! oh is gt6 notgoing to have this… It better have that.. I bet itll be pushed back to the ps4… It is so sickning to read these comments. GT has put so much effort to bring us what we want and the majority here still just grumble about wanting eeeeven more. What game even comes close to 1200! cars. I was so worried theyd throw gt5 cars out to shut everyone up about standard vs premium but thankfully they didnt! Forza is far far from GT’s standards and theyre basically the only competition. Grid 2 screwed the fans out of no cockpit view. Nfs isnt even a similar comparsion. Its this or $100,000’s for the real thing. Thank you pd.

    1. HarVee

Most people are “complaining” right now because they want GT6 to be the best that it possibly can be. Also, if you don’t like reading the comments, then don’t read them.

    2. MuoNiuLa

1200 cars. 800 of them from last generation. Yeah, REAL special…

And saying Forza is far from GT’s standards is your opinion.

    3. omgitsbees

How is Forza far off from Gran Turismo’s standards? Gran Turismo’s standards is cars that sound like a vacuum, no cockpit views, PlayStation 2 quality graphics. Polyphony Digital dumped their high standards years ago. Forza has been raising the bar ever since to the point where GT can’t even compete anymore.

    4. barkeep

The problem is the extreme high expectations previously from GT5, only to have the fanbase being polarized about it. Now with the announcement of GT6, you got these same types of people who had high expectations to the point where they get way too nitpicky on what to expect, while others are dismissive on given on how long it took GT5 to make, they would obviously expect GT6 to take longer than it should as well.

Still, this is good news that they are working on GT6. A bit surprised that this is going on the PS3 (with PS4 on the horizon).

    5. Quakebass

Expecting content to be up-to-date with current generation hardware is logic, not nit-piky.

That’s why I complain about standard cars and lackluster AI, especially when other games are succeeding in these categories.

    6. Rionmoon

First off we complain about GT6 because we spend hard earned cash for this game. Not all of us ask our parents for it and suddenly a game appears. Secondly PD has had a bad habit of disappointing us as a community. GT5 was and is a great game but it was flawed from the beginig, took to long to release and it has NEVER felt like it lived up to the hype or its full potential. So when we as a community don’t just bounce up and down with joy that PD is about to make Millions of dollars off of us there is our reason.

I’m looking forward to the Dino Ferrari and Silverstone and to tweaking my cars and personalizing them. I’m just not pretending this is the greatest news ever.

  37. mcalva98

Is there still gonna be 16 AI opponents? Will there be better damage?? So many other questions!!!!

  38. AcenSpades

Tablet compatible huh?? looks like i’ll usin my tablet a lot more durin lunch time at work, no more Car Town after this.

    1. ProjectWHaT

You’re not physically playing GT6 on your tablet, it’s more like a Facebook app for GT6

    2. AcenSpades

Thanks Pro, as far as playin the full game oh no of course not, i got that part. but if we can tweak with the cars on the tablet, that be good to go!!

  39. h8rhrtr

Am I the only one disappointed that there was no mention of improvements in the online gameplay? Sure do wish they would develop a driver rating system along the lines of iRacing, maybe not quite as strict, but something to discourage the crashers from ruining races… But, I guess if I want iRacing, then I should just play iRacing…

    Wishful thinking…

  40. Fire Yoshi

    Finally! I can take a sigh of relief! It’s a PS3 game!
I’m also very happy that all the cars from 5 will be put on 6. There are way too many cars that I would miss if they did otherwise, like the classic GT500 (JGTC) cars. I love my Penzoil Nismo Skyline. <3
I don't even care if they are "Standard," I just don't want to lose them. :(

  41. hdizzle

I love the fact that the people saying “it better be a complete game” were probably the ones screaming for gt5 to “come out NOW!!”…not all, but I’m sure there’s a few lol.

  42. SaintSaiya

so no improved damage? and when they say the gt5 cars return do they mean upgraded ones or still standard? don’t want to be negative ,im exited nonetheless but someone answer me those 2

    1. HuskyGT

No one but PD can give us an answer. E3 is very close, so I’m sure they will give us some insight on the Standard thing. I wouldn’t get too excited since it’s unlikely that 1200 will be Premium. However it’s really hard for me to believe that PD will just paste the 800 standards from GT5 at this point. Some improvement has been done, I just know it.

    2. AcenSpades

That Alpine 110- something car is a standard in GT5, that GT6 version it was def not a standard…. Correct me if i’m wrong though aight.

    3. HuskyGT

Both the Lambo and the Alpine (although the Alpine is not of the same year, it is the same car) have definitely been upgraded to Premium status. However, that doesn’t tell us anything. It’s just 2 out of 800 standards. We also don’t know if they are counting these in the new car batch.

There could be only 2 Standard cars converted. There could be 10, or even half of the 800 Standards. We don’t know.

PD is still not telling much. There is a lot if hidden info that we will know in time.

  43. lozzy1234567890

One thing I’m curious about, is the “holiday 2013” release date. The PS4 got the same vague release date, so this could mean thats it will also be a launch title for the PS4? There isn’t much to doubt about GT6 coming to the PS4, but when is the question.

    1. Pit Crew

Im personally at odds with that possible decision, but KY speculated as much. Still his answer was evasive, sort of like his reply when Jordan asked him about Porsche coming to the series, last year. GT6 on PS4, to me may as well be GT7, but I guess we’ll find out soon enough.

  44. calahan

“Players can create their own personalised custom car in the game.”

So thats means custom livery confirmed?

    1. gtone339

No. Don’t want anymore fantasy/fake concept cars like that thank you very much!

      Have a good day!

  45. Pit Crew

Im Curious as to whether Level and Bday tickets will be retained.

Thank goodness E3 is around the corner. Kaz was holding back a little bit.

Didnt see anything concerning BSpec. *RIP* Bob Racers, though your performance on the track resembled a driver with one foot in the grave anyway so, you wont be missed by me.

    1. HuskyGT

HAHA! Hopefully B-Spec as we know it in GT5 is gone for good. I’m still B-Spec lvl 0 since release date.

      B-Spec from GT4 wouldn’t be a bad idea though.

  46. HuskyGT

Has anyone forgotten what PD did with the Prowler? Could it be that even though Standards won’t be upgraded completely, they might get at least an upgraded interior like the Prowler did?

I always thought that the upgrade to the Prowler’s interior was such a random thing to do. Could’ve been a test?

    1. RodSk8Dude

The Prowler had an interior in GT4, since I don’t think it has a hardtop version. All standard cars that had cockpit camera in GT5 were of these kind in GT4: Prowler, Caterham, Chaparral 2J, Formula GT…

I do think it was weird though that they didn’t do that with convertibles, since, in GT4, when driving in a time attack, their top would be down and it would have an interior aswell, maybe it was because only convertibles would have that and that would be weird or something.

  47. brianblaze

More rims… More aero… More parts? I am incredibly skeptical since all they would have to do is add different brakes and they could back that up and as usual rims and wings are all you can change… Make me a real real racing sim :( I want engine swaps I don’t need 20 new models of the GTR lol

  48. CRXFREAK001

All i ask is that it’s a finished product on launch, I mean i know updates need to be added to most all games, but be finished with gear ratio changes and stuff off the bat, same with standards and sounds, please remove that silly black lazy wing that fits all cars you couldn’t make a wing for, and same thing with standards, lower scale quality cars with non functioning parts like wipers and dashes and stuff does make the game look worse believe it or not, and I hope sounds have been greatly improved.

As far as the rest is concerned i am a GT fan and I will be getting this. But please, finish what you start at the launch so you don’t have to release 4 versions of the same game.

    1. Pit Crew

Gear Ratio changes can make a heckuva difference at the right course. I had a League event at Spa Last Saturday (40 Laps) and put my 1and 2 gear ratios in such a way that I was coming out of turn 1 with more power than my competitors. Same thing happened on last turn before the S/F line. It was a noticeable advantage.

  49. ChadEsposito

I do not believe that Standards will be transferred as is. Kaz got more than enough flak for doing that in GT5. It would be a huge “I don’t give a damn” slap to gamers if he did that again. Plus that is absolutely unacceptable from a AAA developer. Anyway, we would have to wait and see.

    1. HuskyGT

My thoughts exactly. Although 1200 Premium cars sound highly unlikely due to how many repetitive models and other models that really don’t make any sense on upgrading, I do think we will be surprised. PD has done something, I just know it.

If t least half of GT5’s standard list has been upgraded to Premium, I will be one very happy man.

    2. lebes14

But those repetitive models could probably be pretty easily upgraded if they make the base model.

    3. Halcyon925

They might’ve had the cars from GT5 added to GT6. I hope that they took the dumb repeated car models, just used the original car, and used new cars in place of the repeated models. They probably could make most of the cars “Premium” if they did this.

  50. Blood*Specter

    Quakebass said:

” Just wondering… where are people getting the ideas that STANDARD cars will transfer…?

Couldn’t PD upgrade the models when transferring…? ”

Here’s our sign….Premium wheels on standard cars. I’d guess there is such at thing as a conversion engine living somewhere within the PD headquarters building. Because Kaz may want to drive a premium Nissan 400R just for the hell of it.
I know he must have a premium Ford GT40 to play with. I think it’s just a matter of time. But all those interiors and gauges must be duplicated in detail or Kaz will not let them out of the lab. This man is about details. And is already on record as saying the wants the GT series to be a complete encyclopedia of cars. A to Z.

  51. Doober

I never thought that confirmed GT6 article would polarize comments this much. Anyhow if they do port the standard cars I hope they at least smooth all of them up. Maybe there is no proper interior. Fine, but at least fix how terribly blocky they look.

  52. TheGTGuy

I’m Delighted with all of the announcements and can’t wait to see some gameplay videos from today’s events. E3 will be great.

  53. RESHIRAM5

The idea of DLC might bug me, if It comes once a month it might get me not able to race online once people get all theses DLC :(.

  54. fredyellowone

    1200 cars? YAY!
    800 standard.
800 of those standard with black ugly cockpits.
200 of those are Skylines, S-2000, GT-R and NSX “GT-R+G-W/H Super Hyper Black Kowabunga edition”
    No BMW 850.
    No Pontiac Trans-Am.
No everyday cars like the new Buicks, Cadillac and Nissans.
    No Hood view.
    No “Modnation racers” track buillder.

    Thanks for the DLC, Kaz.

    1. Walter35

No one said anything about that. I think they have converted lots of the standard cars to premium too. Just wait until actual news before you rant.

  55. SCER

It’s hilarious how everyone’s so happy and enthusiastic off of GTPlanet, but as soon as I go on here, everyone’s underwhelmed, indifferent, and in many cases even angry. Holy cow, people. Lots of great cars look to have been introduced, some major new courses + loads of layouts, it looks good. People were complaining about there being too many Japenese cars, and it seems like they’ve addressed that too, tons of European cars in that trailer.

    1. another_jakhole

I’m saying/thinking let’s just wait for E3. This event might only be the tip of the iceberg of what information we’ll be getting out of GT6.

    2. MeanElf

The news threads are classicaly complaint spawn grounds – don’t know why. I think some people even create a second account to sound off here with some sort of impunity ;)

I agree though, I’m very happy with the proposed look of things to come and there is E3 to come yet and of course Jordan’s account of his hands-on experience with the game.

  56. Progress823

Ok, I’m actually a bit excited here. One question lingers in my mind….Will there still be standard cars???

    1. Pit Crew

Looks that way Progress. Im on the fence myself. They are popular in the MarketPlace for sure but, I cant say im overjoyed they will return.

  57. blksentra2

Hmmmm, 1200 cars doesn’t sound too reassuring that they’ve done away with the Premium/Standard tier system. It also doesn’t sound like they’ve trimmed the fat of excess RX-7’s, NSX’s, Skylines and any other multiple “trimmed” vehicles.

I really just hope that GT6 is a reflection of Polyphony Digital actually listening to the feedback of their core audience…actual car enthusiast.

One thing is for sure, I just hope they got rid of the “paint chip” method of selecting a color to paint your cars.

  58. Fran1001

How come the screenshots are in almost 4K resolution, except the Tesla one, which is almost 8K? Is there something I’m missing or is it only do promotional reasons, like when they hooked up 4 PS3’s to get it to show 4K.

  59. Quakebass

Just wondering… where are people getting the ideas that STANDARD cars will transfer…?

Couldn’t PD upgrade the models when transferring…?

I know they’ve re-bult the render model, but that’s just for textures. They wouldn’t have to re-build every car, they’d only have to re-texture them. the wireframes still exist, and for the standard cars they’d just have to upgrade the poly’s, THEN retexture.

Also, I don’t see why PD would transfer the duplicates (like the regionals, and the special paints) – it would seem that they’d be adding AT LEAST a couple hundred cars…

    1. blksentra2

Probably from the fact that they say there will be 1200 cars at launch. That’s a lot of cars, and when GT5 was released many were disappointed that the “over 1000 cars” consisted of many “multiples” such as several trim changes for the same model (RX-7, RX-7 type R, RX-7 type RZ, RX-7 type RS, RX-7 R-S, ect) that PD counted as a separate car.

I hope that your optimism proves to be true, but we’ve been let down before…

  60. Kite

Over the course of it’s history, GT has been following a certain pattern. Two full games per console era, with the even numbered GT’s being the best in the series. If history repeats itself, then GT6 will be no different. It would be miles ahead of GT5 in terms of enjoyment, gameplay, and features since PD has established a base with GT5, and can now toy and experiment with that base to their hearts content, maxing out the PS3’s true potential.

    1. AcenSpades

If anyone here works in Gamestop and reading this…….. Youre not doing your job, youre supposed to be taking preorders at this moment!!

  61. Blood*Specter

Yesterday in the preview thread someone called the event almost to a tee. I can not remember the user name, but dude you nailed it. Congrats to you. This person even mentioned K&W and Yokohama.

My impression is largely positive. I expected a more refined physics engine as well as better texturing and its about time
they went back to the GT1 and GT2 concept of endless mods for your personal car. But this will be so much more vivid.
PD and Kaz did listen to their customer base. And I know GTP was on the list of input they used to craft this version of GT.

Thank you Kazunori San and PD. Keep it coming. No course is safe now. PD will be mapping tracks for another 15 years.
Hell, Porsche might pay Kaz to put their junkers in the GT lineup. ;)

I suspect the GT5 cars can not be transferred to GT6. But frankly scarlet, I don’t give a damn. I built a replica SLS GT3, now I will have a (almost) real one to play with and hopefully a Z4 GT3 and others via DLC…………..heaven. :)

    1. AcenSpades

I’ll be happy with the RUFs if porsche dont deliver, just give us the up to date models please.

  62. liv4hardstyle

As the saying goes “fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me”. There is no way I’m getting burned again by PD’s cryptic promotions of things to come. I remember seeing screenshots of gt5 of the tuning shop menu. There were icons for paint, bodykits, and “racing modifications”. Needless to say I had paint chips (wtf!?), plastic front lip extensions and standard cars thrown in my face. Oh yea.. Standard cars, the elephant in the room.. I love gran turismo and I will buy gt6 but i will not be jumping up and down waiting.

  63. vr6cas

I told yall GT6 was a PS3 title, which im happy because I wont have to buy a PS4 right away, il buy one when all the good games start coming out for it a few years down the line, they said back in 2005-6 that the PS3 had a ten year life span, and it looks like they wasnt lying! The PS3 has at least 2 to 4 years left in then I see GT7 making its debut on the PS4 followed by a much greater GT8 in the year 2021!! LOL

    1. Nurburgthing.

      by, not buy *FCEPLM*

Don’t want to waste message slot with just a correction so I will also add my hopings for the Audi Sport Quattro roadcar…..and the actual noises it and the S1 make……….,,,,,,and proper crackling, popping and exploding exhausts………….etc

  64. Dekropttiv

I have a feeling there’s still going to be standard cars. Keeping all the cars wasn’t really necessary. They could’ve cut down on all the “duplicates” to make room for additional features.
Still, I’m extremely excited, especially with the fact that it is indeed a PS3 release.

  65. sparkytooth

I fear that standard cars will return despite the fact the not-final UI shown at Kaz’s presentation has no specific vehicle type listed in the new garage screen as standard or premium for the Leafs. 1200 cars to me is overkill especially when 800 of those 1200 cars are standard and from GT5 (which is from GT4). This would give GT6 only a 200 premium car increase over GT5.

  66. Sonygamer455

Wow! I am absolutely baffled they are retaining every car and track in GT6! Now that is awesome! :D This whole create your own personalized custom car thing sounds like fun! I imagine it is something were you literally create your own car of your own design, not to be confused with modifying already existing cars. If it is, I imagine the template cars will look somewhat “generic”, but I am sure they will be fun to play around with. I look forward to driving all these new cars and seeing what the future holds in GT6! :) This going to be awesome……

    1. aronh17

Basically the motion behind things. So in this case it seems how dampers and springs will react to bumps on the course.

  67. Kratos_Q8

i hop the game dont focus much on online and abandon the A-spec coz i for one cant race online thats why GT5 sucked for me im in the middle east and i can barely find a good connection room to play in and if i find one its always DRAG racing at top gear , when i try to go US or EU its always lag so please PD :

    improve the AI
give us a long career mode

  68. Rionmoon

Yeah! Now we can paint all our Skylines! Also I’m pleased that my prediction of GT6 being released on PS3 and NOT PS4 came true.

  69. biftizmo

I”m hopeing all my cars and tracks and progress though GT5 wil carry flowered to GT6 and PS4 in years to come.. A don’t mind if all DLC I paid for comes with gt6 at launch …and a promise of lots more to come.but I’m thinking I want to have gained some carrear ,exspearance and exclusives over the past 2 years..maybe this will open up the traiding game…I just don’t feel like starting from scratch again..I done that 5 x already…GT5 for me was all about the never ending and event posabilatys …not just done dusted and on to the next type of game.. Is there anyone else like me…or am I the only one who doesn’t want GT 6,7,8,9 and so on

  70. FiftyBelowZero

There will be no standard cars, I think! The Countach which is shown in the picture, has a cockpit if you look closely! Awesome!!!

    1. phillkillv2

?? Just because they’ve updated pone car doesn’t mean they are all updated and new…

    2. HarVee

Agree with Phill. GT5 only had 250 premium cars, and that took them 5 years to create that many, I doubt they could create 950 premiums in only 3 years.

Standard cars are definitely making a reappearance. No doubt in my mind on that now.

  71. mrkevans

Please pd no standard cars, and I want classic tracks back like midfield seattle ect. Gt6 sounds like its going to be epic but I can’t help think it should have been a ps4 game as pd could realy pushed the boundaries with all that extra power.

  72. rev_hard

No mention of “New AI algorithm”.. PD really wants to push everyone online instead of being able to race with aggressive opponents in career mode.

    1. HarVee

Yeah, I hope PDI doesn’t put too much emphasis on multi-player. No everyone has a good enough internet connection, and some just outright prefer single-player.

    1. apff

It seems standard will continue… I wish PoDi removed all the standard which have an equivalent in premium, so that the 1200 car annonced will contain the more premium car as possible.

The good news is that it seems that they will let us drive some GT3 as the SLS and the GT-R in the preview, and maybe all the GT3 cars (MP4-12C, Z06, R8 LMS, 911 type 997, Camaro, Z4, …).

  73. Rob-F1-Fan

Can’t wait for a proper E3 trailer rather than the silverstone GT demo trailer.
Will there be NASCAR? WRC? Damage?

  74. vr6cas

I actually think its going to be all premium cars because its says multiple aero will be available for almost all cars, unless we can put body kits and front diffusers on standards which will be kinda lame.

  75. QuikSlvr223

A lot of the cars on that list were originally standard… does that mean…
Also not sure what “Players can create their own personalised custom car in the game” means, but I want my Ford GT to have a Gulf livery, my Mitsubishi Eclipse to look like the one from FnF, and my RUF to have a Martini livery. Let’s hope that it’s now possible.

    1. FiftyBelowZero

I guess we’ll have a livery editor, I really think it’s obvious. I don’t Kaz is dumb enough to drive away all his fans for no reason.

  76. vr6cas

Everything sounds great to me from the revamp of the whole system to the new physics to the new tire, suspenion, customization, but there are a couple things im scratching my head at, they said GT6 will be just the start of it, i thought GT5 was supposed to be that and we see what that was like at the beginning, the launch of an unfinished game. Second the fact that they saying cars and tracks will be released later online, ok but didnt we go through months and months of waiting for dlc to only get 3 or 4 cars, shouldnt the bulk of GT6 be available from the launch? Other than that Im all aboard the hype train and cant wait til it stop at Gran Turismo 6s station.

    1. aronh17

I believe the algorithm behind that is to let players sustain the last few years of the PS3. Also until they get GT7 over to PS4. From what it seems, the work they put forth to revamping GT6 is worth a lot compared to DLC for GT5. Meanwhile majority of game developers have done nothing compared to this kind of revamp on their games.

    2. vr6cas

So aronh17 whatcha think? i think its gonna be great, i just hope for more to do, a massive free roam C spec, drifting and drag racing with an actual christmas tree would be epic, i think the new suspenion model will give people the freedom to do what they want as far as dropping, tunes for drag, drift and the stance community.

    3. aronh17

I’m excited and getting it day 1 for sure. I’d like to have drag/drift being overhauled but I mean, if you look they have a SLS AMG GT3 class and the GT3 class Schulze Motorsports GT-R, which probably indicates there may be most GT3 class racecars. Add in new physics and we’ll have a ball on Nurburg with GT3 class cars. Hope they have an Italia GT3 and an LFA GT3 :D Let the rivalry continue! Partnering with Yokohama we’ll probably have perfect tire physics/tirewear. Cas, we gotta get a race teamclub going on GT6 lol.

  77. daifuku74

That’s nice!!! but just a few things btw. 1. Fix pixelated shadows if possible (ditto). 2. Fix VSYNC on urban tracks (I believed my copy of GT5 was defective at firs!!t) 3. Premium cars only! 4. More legacy GT tracks 5. better interface (it’s planned). Other than that it’s all bonus! Looking forward to december!

  78. BkS

Jordan, you should add to the post that a PS4 is in the works for after the PS3 release. This is what Kaz told IGN.

  79. DawgCCCP

But still I am going to buy it!

This is actually what we can call GT5 how it should have been if it was not pushed to release.

  80. TopGearFTW

I think we all knew this was coming. Still, sounds good.

Rather glad it’s coming for PS3, I certainly won’t be getting a PS4 on release unless I win the lottery between now and then. That being said, I’d probably pick it up again when I get one if they do port it to PS4.

Looking forward to it, I’m not gonna try and kid myself and say I won’t be getting it on release day, they’d have to monumentally mess it up for me to do that.

  81. DawgCCCP

    1200 vehicles?

Well I guess they still going to keep those freaking standard models.. sad sad sad

    1. DawgCCCP

To be honest I really hope they worked their asses off to finish atleast 600 new premium models though! so with excisting ones from gt5 the total amount of premium cars should be atleast 800+

But then I know how they used to dissapoint us in GT5, therefor I am reather sceptic with the things I wrote above lol

  82. Youngun

    SOLD
This is what GT5 should of/ could of been.
Going for the bells and whistles version this time……….
High hopes, even if its only 300 prems as long as standards don’t play a big part (or any part if can be helped)

  83. AngelPlayStar

GT6 looks good for me, I think PD is working well!

    – New Physics Engine, New Game Engine and of course Custom Parts make me really curious!!!

My last wish: I hope we can export or share Replays in video formats and GT will be Amazing!

  84. Gran_Turismo

And just how many of those “1200” cars will be “Premium”? Hopefully ALL OF THEM.

  85. Gran_Turismo

So this is a “CONCEPT” trailer. It’s NOT the official GT6…

So if this game actually turns out to be PS3 only, then this is basically the finished version that GT5 was suppose to be, but was forced out of the oven under cooked.

As a GT fan, I am glad to see a new GT, but as a progressive in development, this is NOT what we should be looking foward to.

So far this is basically just GT5 with included DLC cars and tracks.

    I am… QQing

    1. leeson

Why are you saying GT5 + bunch of new cars, tracks and other features =/= GT6

What were the differences between GT1 and GT2? GT3 and GT4?

    2. biftizmo

@GT..your right. GT5 with better inter face…smoother. This could be the ultimate GT…forward comparability with PS4…also other platforms and mobile…now they can release all that D.L.C they been hanging on to…am sure there will be a few improvements to physics ..and AI but not a complete over hall in graphics and content as some expected. just a more forward looking GT5 not forgetting the GPS data logger..we had all along…

  86. FLASH48

    @ Jordan

Just wondering if you got the chance to test GT6 on the PS3? If so have they done anything with sound?

    1. sangdude82

Jordan said on Twitter that he had some game time with GT6. hopefully he had the chance to record him playing it and share it with us.

  87. KWZX10

No hype for me this time, i’ll wait for actual facts, with a copy in my hands. They can write whatever they want, remember. But i still believe in PD to be honest, i think they’re not going to do the same mistakes again and i think they will be able to give us all the things they say this time.. just not holding my breath. I see a premium countach and that’s already a good thing. Well, hope we don’t have the premium-standard thing at all, this time.

  88. sangdude82

I wonder if the circuit de Spa-Francorchamps is one of 7 new tracks for GT6. i mean, it was a DLC track on GT5, remember?

    1. Flagmo-T

Long live toilet paper and the toilet, and the romans for creating the sewer pipes – Hell yaaa :P

  89. adam46

I don’t like this. I hate how DLC means we only buy Betas in the shop, and since I have rubbish internet connection I will never get to experience the true potential of the game.

  90. leeson

    New Tracks mights be:

Ronda, Spain (new course creator location)

Ascari Race Track near Ronda, Spain

    Silverstone, UK

    Willow Springs, USA

    Mount Panorama (Bathurst) Australia

    Seattle Circuit, USA

    Apricot Hill Raceway, fictional

There’s 7. I’d bet $50 on that, but a few are just guesses.

    1. HKSBro92

But they said NEW tracks. Apricot and Seattle aren’t new. I think “new” means never seen in the GT franchise but I could be wrong.

    2. leeson

No one said new, they said “7 more locations than GT5”. Apricot and Seattle weren’t in GT5.

    3. HKSBro92

“The UK’s famous Silverstone Circuit will be just one of seven new locations in Gran Turismo 6, taking the total to 33, with 71 different layouts available, 19 of them brand new.” And I know Apricot and seattle weren’t in GT5 but I don’t think it should be considered as new locations…more like triumphant returns lol but like I said….I could be wrong.

    4. leeson

OK they said new. Yeah, it’s hard to know how to interpret this. I still stick by my prediction above.

  91. Rob-F1-Fan

If the rumour is true that you can create tracks with GPS, we could just get everyone to drive around the whole world’s tracks and then share to us :D
Will the track creator let us actually design our own tracks? Or will it be like GT5’s with more scenery options….

  92. Kingofweasles

I’m guardedly excited about this. On one hand, I’m a bit confused as to why PD would release this game on the PS3 with the PS4 right around the corner; On the other hand, LIGHT CAR COMPANY ROCKET HELL YEAH! :P

  93. MOV Games

With this support post launch, I really hope either Grindelwald or Red Rock Valley eventually return from GT2, its still my top game in the series so far.

  94. leeson

Cool! Looks like they’re taking GT in the right direction.

The physics look better: in the video, one of the tires was lifting off the ground going around a corner.
Hopefully the new tire and suspension modeling will take things to the next level.

I’m glad I guess that standard cars will still be there; there’s no real reason to get rid of them, but the sounds MUST be improved for the standard cars- at least some of them.

    New tracks- yay.

New cars- yay. Unfortunately a lot of what they’re calling “new” are just different models or years of cars we already have. C’mon. We need lots of new premium cars!!!!

Improved course creator: awesome. That’s a nice feature that was either going to be improved, or scrapped. I was predicting they’d just scrap it, but looks like it’s going to be the bomb.

GT6 on PC: WOW seriously? That’s huge news.

    1. 100111

I don’t you can play the game on pc/smartphone/tablet it will be more then likely a way to see what your gt mates are doin an chat to them

    2. Esgaloth

I doubt they’ll be standard. They’ve had 3 years to add 200 cars, improve things and rebuild most cars. So look at it this way, That Lamborghini LP-400 was a standard, what is It now? A Premium. Hopes aren’t high, but PD is never shy of a surprise.

    3. leeson

I don’t think it’s a question of “if”, they’ve definitely left most standards as standard. They may have prettied them up a bit, but they did NOT make 1000 new premium cars in 3 years.

    4. leeson

“All of the cars and tracks from Gran Turismo®5 […] will be retained in GT6.”

      There. Argue with that.

  95. Rocket Racer

Well, that’s probably what Gt 5 should have been like in the first place, which is great. But somehow i feel that there will still be loads of ps2-graphics standard cars. might look embarassing considering thefact that the Ps4 will probably already be out then…

    1. paraclete

I haven’t seen any tweets that specifically say “livery editor”, but that’s kind of how I read that quote too.

  96. Lambob

Guess no one here will be buying a PS4 until sometime in late 2016 at the earliest.

Unless PD will have a trick up its sleeve with that one.

Very happy news that GT6 is coming this fall/holidays, can’t come soon enough,

Happy anniversary GT, thanks PD & GTPlanet.net

I guess I’ll build a playseat this summer in time for GT6.

    1. Swagger897

      Playseat: plus 1

      Gajillion….!!!

I just hope they will have the R18 with all models in it!!!

    2. Swagger897

      Playseat: plus 1

      Gajillion….!!!

I just hope they will have the R18 with all models in it!

  97. gtrx251

    GT5: 800 standard 200 premium. GT6: 800 standard 200old premium + 200new premium. 7 tracks : 1. Silverstone Circuit 2. Seattle Circuit 3. Apricot Hill Raceway 4. Bathurst Circuit 5,6,7 ??? it’s easy:))))

  98. HondaS800

Ok let’s have a special Anniversary car for GT5. That’s all I want lol. Special paint for the occasion.

    1. Lambob

      1. Listen to GT5 in game
      2. done. There wll be zero difference. It’s a gut feeling I cannot shake. but it’s forgiveable. I just want new toys(cars) to drive around the Nur.

  99. CodeName

I still have one Big Question: HOW can PD make games with these graphics, engine, FPS, rain, nights, number of cars, tracks, amazing online community and all these stuffs in the PS3 knowig that it’s very old? Really, that trailer of GT6 is 101% comparable to games that are comming on PS4.

  100. CleanUP-CharliE

    VERY SIMPLE:

    1.STANDARD OR PREMIUM CARS?
    2.ENGINE SOUNDS?
    3.CAR CUSTOMIZATION (including paint jobs)

Sorry I had to shout it out lol

    MAKE.IT.RIGHT.THIS.TIME.AROUND.PLEASE!.

    THE.END.

    1. ICEMAN_ZIDANE

Are you not reading ? This is GT ! The cars in GT doesnt look similar to the real ones, they look/are identical ! Its impossible to convert 800 S cars into P Cars ! The development time of 1 P Car needs 3-6 months.

      220-250 Premium cars from GT5
      +
      +200 new Premium cars
=420-450 Premium cars . Thats awesome

    2. CleanUP-CharliE

      Hey IceMan..

Well, yeah, it is ‘somewhat’ awesome.

I work with 3D Models and you can “cheat” a bit by adding high res textures to your models.. maybe they could at least do that. Heck, maybe even work on the 3D Model and fix them a bit. They could fix mirrors, fenders, etc Not the whole body perhaps.

It’s weird to have a PS3 game in 2013 with low res textures and just awful 3D Modeling.. and like directly in your face lol

  101. Flagmo-T

Silverstone and Mount Panorama – 5 to go – Not much to be honest – I’m sure we could easily find a lot more important tracks to be in GT6, than only these 7 – But OK The GT-series is more a showcase for Cars, than a real Race Sim and that’s why it’s called a driving Sim hehe – Sarcasm is a fun thing on this forum, bombardments are hanging loose, and poison arrows are fired ..

Anyways Thanks Jordan, you manage to make the twitter updates very entertaining and ya the trailer looks great, actually quite surprisingly good if the render was from PS3 ( i’m not sure about that ) .

But there wasn’t any new stuff for DLC for GT5 on this fine historical day, It’s rather disappointing i would say, at least i would think there were a new car or a track like Mount Silver panorama stone Duh!!

Hope the Demo will be released soon for the public to drive, then i probably will be over the moon of excitement regarding GT again, I have kind a lost it lately..

I do hate the hype train, specially when Sony/PD is the host and captain on it, bcs you simply can’t trust any of it until after release day – Monthly DLC’s are you kidding me – have we heard that sentence before Ohhh ya :O)

Good thing is that we have some nice new Titles coming out before The Holiday season 2013 – like Project cars and Grid.2 ( P.C is going to be Orsm no doubt, but Grid.2 can easily be only a beautiful game to look at, and a simple Arcade to drive.. we’ll see in 14 days time ..

  102. ICEMAN_ZIDANE

The difference between GT and other games is that PD copies the cars from real into the game ( 1:1 ) . In other games the cars look similar to the real ones but in GT 5 they are identical ! Every car has a development time of 3-6months ! This is why i love PD.

GT 5 has 220-250 Premium cars and now we get +200 again =420-450 Premium cars, thsts awesome. You guys pay 60bucks for NFS with 50 cars …
GT = Cars are copied 1:1 from real into the game

    1. Flagmo-T

Are you for real ? – It’s a game Bro Not illusion for car salesmen – WHy wasted all those fine polygons and time on so much hidden stuff, when Driving is the main reason for the game, meaning that it’s the Driving experience that is the most important thing for a Race Game – GT is so far behind ith several important stuff, because of using so much energy on making ridiculous visuals on the cars, Don’t get me wrong I love the full modeled Cars, But i’m more into a fine balance between the Overall view when looking out the front window – Once again the Tracks will suffer for this 1:1 ;) bcs the PS3 can’t deliver both in that high quality..

Just think if they had spend more time on the AI / the Shadows / the Clouds / the old Cars hehe :P to much Bling and not enough Umph!!

well I respect your opinion of course i do :O)

  103. Kobooi

Trailer doesn’t have anything new: no close racing, no new weather, no crashes. Just the same sterile environment. And the same 174 Skyline versions. Is anyone seriously psyched after watching this trailer? There’s 0.0 adrenaline in that video. At least Kaz is consistent: after the GT5 patches and DLC under achievements, there will be the GT6 under achievement.

    1. SavageEvil

Not a single Skyline in the trailer aside from the fast forward of GT5, cry me a river. I care less for the trailer and more about what they are doing better than GT5, it’s a driving game not an adventure game what do you want to see bigger bosses? They also said things will be revealed at E3, TGS and Gamescom. Take a few of these and call me in the morning.

  104. sangdude82

hmm, only 7 new tracks at the launch huh. i hope that PD has put all the tracks from previous GT games…

    1. Streeto

I doubt it, I think they only said the ones from GT5 + 7 new ones. We can’t get everything we want I guess.

  105. beodo20vt

The city shown in the second 52 of the video is Ronda in Malaga, (Spain).Very beauty………

  106. RobDoggy05

    1200 cars sounds great
1000 standard cars and 200 premium cars doesn’t sound great so PD please don’t do it again…
    Remember: Quality and NOT quantity

That’s my main concern with GT6 and really holding thumbs that they don’t repeat it from GT5.

    1. sepulturite

Nah your getting it wrong dude, its 200 new cars like the dino, xbow etc, and then the 1000 cars from gt5. Whether those cars are all premium now or not we have to wait and see.

    2. drag lab 101

If I had to guess they will probably update a select number of old standards to premium. I’d also guess all the newer cars would be premium too.
But it’s just an assumption… I’m still expecting a heavy number in the standard depo… But I’m betting for a much larger premium number then GT5.

  107. Neilson248

lol I have an exam tomorrow and all I can think about is how awesome GT6 is going to be. Even when GT5 debuted and after all the delays and criticism PD received, I always knew that this series was going to deliver. GT is starting to come alive after all their hard work well done PD. I know GT6 will be incredible but I think when the GT series debuts on PS4, then we will see something trully special and perhaps, it will close the gap to sims like iRacing.

  108. Malc01

So looks like GT6 may be supported for quiet some time – great news for folk not upgrading to the PS4 right away :)

    1. Lambob

Sad news for Sony, no one here in their right minds is going to bother buying a PS4 until 2016 when GT7 comes out.

  109. Haitauer

Sport quattro S1 !! Has been my #1 wish for a long time – a true icon of motorsports. Sometimes they DO listen. :) Lets hope the “custom car” means actual livery editor.

    1. masterrawad

when the features say you can create your OWN, PERSONALIZED, CUSTOM car, we know he’s not screwing around.

  110. Fryto

Great stuff, and thanks for the live coverage throughout the event Jordan!

Already lots of information and we’ll get even more at E3. Really happy roght now :-)

  111. V10viperSRT

I hope we will be able to customize the paint on the cars with our own personal decals and other things. That would be really cool and allow people to truly let their cars be individual.

    1. kieranmonday

Sadly not, due to religious reasons in America, Holiday season is actually Christmas not summer :(

  112. e30 freek

To all the people still moaning and bitching just carry the F*** on because PD don’t give a crap about you and neither do I.

  113. JeremiahTB

“New cars set to be continually added online.” We’ve all heard things like this before only to be disappointed. I hope it’s true this time.

    1. Quakebass

When? The only time I can remember is when Kaz said that he’d “like to release content very 2 months or so”… Hardly steadfast. This is a steadfast statement. I’d expect this will happen.

    1. infamousphil

      Let’s see…
GT5 has around 800 standards and 200 premiums for about 1000 cars, so, that’s round a 2/8 premium car ratio.
      GT6 has around 1200 cars? At 3/8 we get 450 premiums ;)

  114. TURBOMATIZ

50 junk new jap family cars , a handfull of gtrs and a few decent cars then the rest will be dlc! Was really excited for ps4 launch and then they do this ! idiots well looks like it will be project cars on the pc now then !

    1. TheBlueHusky

No customization, this game has best customization, I’m talking about suspension and transmission!

  115. RedDevil

Can we wait untill we find out more about the game before deeming it to hell on the DAY 1 reveal?! People keep blaming kaz and calling him lazy but think about it do you really believe that? do you really believe he doesnt care? I what if he never created gran turismo and stuck with motor toon racers? I personally believe these guys are some of the most passionate hard working guys in the industry. Yet every mistake they make we cry and complain over and over again while they slave away at making a game for us! Yes im sure they are paid well but its different with PD! lets be happy that its not EA(i still like some EA games) or worst behind this game! Be happy!!!!!

    1. JohnyPiston

Dude ..its unbelievable. All you can do is read and shake your head. But what’s important are that many of us are happy …and do not, in ANY way, believe him or his employees to be lazy.

    2. TokoTurismo

+1 to both. They’re complaining on purpose now, because well, they’re BABIES who can’t be happy and are spoiled…

    3. HuskyGT

I’m excited as hell. It’s a new GT title! This adds a meaning to my life for at least another 5 or 6 years :D

There is still much to know about the game. Let’s wait until the E3.

    4. RedDevil

glad to know some of us are on the same page hahaha cant wait to get online with you guys on launch!

  116. praiano63

I’m a very happy man today.
Just for the new Physics Engine ,suspension , new tyre model, new aerodynamics model……
Let’s see the details they will reveal during the next months.
I want a better pilot view, with more rear zoom like Iracing and with the car shaking not the eye, sounds…. ???!!!
I’ll just wait and see . Thanks PD for this day. I’m feeling like a kid …. a half century very happy kid.

  117. Neilson248

I would love to see some super touring cars from mid to late 90s in GT6… PD had them in GT2 as race modification models… would especially love to see the BMW 320i STW car with its amazing sounding engine.

The late George Plasa’s BMW 135 Judd Hillclimb car would be awesome as well.

    1. Neilson248

@JohnnyPiston… I think you’re talking about the M3 GTR which was replaced by the 135 Judd… both judd v8s

  118. boss33

Good Evening all, i`ll try to not be horrible here. First of all, this is good news, i always thought that gt6 would come to the ps3, so if and when gt6 comes to ps4, your save data will be easy to transfer, from the ps3, Well what can i say now, it sounds like gt5 with a new engine, a better refined gt5 with all the glitches and shadows fixed. frame rate fixed, car engine sounds fixed, even though a few patches have fixed the problems, hopefully there will be proper car painting, if not that will be on ps4,
It also sounds like, a lot of the cars in gt6 playable demo are already in gt5, as standard models, but are now premium models, but anyway i`m happy, maybe this is what they had in the works for gt5, but ran out of time

  119. HKSBro92

And alot of people are complaining about GT6 only getting 7 new tracks. I remember Forza 4 only getting 3 new tracks

    1. TokoTurismo

+1. Yet still those people were okay with that but not GT6? They’re just complaining for the sake of complaining nowadays… Now we know.

    2. drag lab 101

HKSbro92… Correct sir, I hope GT6 will get the kind of DLC support Forza 4 got there for a while. I really hope custom means everything I think most ppl would love to have in Turismo. A nice livery editor. An auction house would be cool too.

  120. TURBOMATIZ

What a joke this should of been called gt5 expansion or something and they should have done a gt6 for ps4 launch ! SONY you are dimwitts!

    1. TokoTurismo

Nope, sorry. Do get overself that GT7 will be for PS4, but hey, you can always wait for that and we just enjoy GT6. BOOHOO

    2. TeamCZRRacing

Can you do better? They’ve essentially had to remake around 80% of the cars in GT5 from the ground up, and each of those cars took around 6 months to redo. On top of that, they’ve had to create 70 more cars FROM SCRATCH. And then we’ve got 7 new tracks which had to be done from the ground up. That’s not to mention the many, MANY engine, gameplay, and physics tweaks that have been made. And then there’s the fact that PD will frequently be creating new cars and tracks and releasing them to us. So yeah, this it more than an expansion pack. This is a whole new game.

  121. JohnyPiston

Oh yes ..the comment section once again proves that never will any product please all people. No question about it, a large number of people are in for disappointment …its as sure as the sun will rise tomorrow. I wake up everyday and thank all that is good in the universe that when it comes to Gran Turismo, I am easily pleased :-). I am happy with everything I have heard today and honestly look forward to GT6 …in whatever form it is. Give me a couple of new tracks, involve real life companies for technical assistance, promise lots more content for the future …what more could I ask for? Oh, wait, a BMW 1M will really blow me away but its ok …its no deal breaker. Take my money already Kaz …

  122. infamousphil

Six bolt wheels for the Vopar Miper please! Is it too much to ask for? A virtual CNG machine for wheel designs would blow everybody’s sock off.

Always excited about the track creator, l hope they allow us a more free hand at it, with full weather and a 24hr clock on all of them.

NONE of these featured whips are interesting to me. The Audi S1 only brings to mind the late, great IMSA GTO racing series.

Here’s to hoping for the best and expecting the worst ;) Play on Playaz!

    1. infamousphil

Oh yeah, that premium Countach… you’d think that 2 slots from that “thousands” parts bin would hold those big ass wings for that otherwise ugly ass Lambo ;)

    2. infamousphil

On the contrary. I go waaay back. The LP400 and 25th Anniversary were both better looking with wings. Please don’t omit the fronts ;)

  123. HKSBro92

Man I’m praying that Group B Audi quattro has a screaming inline 5 sound like in real life. One of the best sound cars of all time :)

  124. Leshkraven

7 NEW TRACKS is that it , they had all better be F1 tracks and the new Graphs better be in 1080p or I agree with BWX

    1. sepulturite

7 new tracks is alot more than you get from nearly any new addition to a racing franchise

  125. kollosson

BWX obviously a Forza/microsoft fanboy get a life mate, if you hate GT5 that much what the hell are you you doing here.
Great Trailer, showing the Lamborghini LP400 in premium ( did you read that BWX, thats a premium Lambo LP400, if you bothered to click on the screenshots you would see that ) i think we can expect ALL premiums, the new tracks/locations look stunning, very exciting, GT6 is the game that Kaz wanted GT5 to be, i think the trailer is awesome, nothing negative to say about any of it, great news, great screen shots, great trailer…can’t wait.

  126. Quakebass

Ok, I’m excited. It looks like PD WAS able to optimize GT on the PS3… I’m probably going o come by a PS4 and stream it, though…

Questions and things I’m not certain of:

1200 cars – obviously, SOME models are being kept in the game; I will assume all or most of the premium cars, and it’s been shown that some standards have been upgraded. BUT – I do NOT want standard cars. Cars that look like they’re from previous-gen is unacceptable, especially when the NEXT-gen is about to launch. Also, if all cars are upgraded, does this mean we’ll still have useless duplicate cars and a HUGE Japanese bias, or are a bunch being replaced by all new models? It doesn’t make sense for PD to add only about 60-75 NEW cars. I’d imagine AT LEAST 200+.

7 NEW locations – as in real world locations, or just areas, including fake locations from classic GT tracks? If it IS real locations, what about Seattle and SSR11? Will old GT tracks b featured as well? It would seem that Kaz would want to advertise as much as possible…

Also, if I were to stream GT6 on a PS4, would I also be able to get DLC and updates for it? I’m tired of maintaining my PS3. I just want to get my PS4, and stream what I still enjoy from the PS3, as most of it doesn’t have DLC I need transferring. GT6 will though.

I probably won’t be getting answers until E3 or so…

  127. karelpipa

    Expecting PC My Garage sorting.
Please change the font of the “6” to something more normal (GT2).
Again many special cars but almost none “normal” cars!! (normal car – daily car like Peugeot 301, Chevrolet Aveo etc.)

Trailer booring as hell (nothing to show?)

    – ONLY 7 NEW TRACKS, big disappointment. And the biggest is, that they will release much more DLCs creating GT6 into Forza or NFS.

  128. BWX

So a few more cars, carry over all the horrible looking “standard” cars (proof of Kaz’s laziness and inability to get anything done… ever), a couple more tracks.. tweak physics (something GT5 continually did anyway) and call it a day- There’s your GT6.

Wow. GT6 is going to be the most pathetic excuse for a “new” Gran Turismo ever. I can honestly say, GT6 will be the first Gran Turismo I do not buy, and do not care about because Kaz has ruined GT.

Fix the ridiculously bad “ai”, fix the ridiculously bad A-Spec single player campaign… er.. I mean ‘grind session’, get rid of all the standard cars and deliver twice as many tracks as there are in GT5. Then maybe it’ll be worth it.

I cannot believe there was no mention of ai or A-Spec. Might as well just keep playing GT5, which I don’t.. because it sucks.

    1. RedDevil

relax dude! this is just a reveal! kaz even said more will come at e3! and its didnt say anywhere that the standard cars would be back, it said 1200 cars in the game. For all we no he fixed everything you just cried about. Do you think is possible he didnt expalin every aspect of the game one the “day 1” reveal? has any game company done that??????

    2. earfin

I bet you’re gonna buy gt6 because of your high curiousity when all these ‘not so childish people’ already play it

    3. TokoTurismo

BWX gets his “little” GT car club, yet still he complains. BWX you are now just whining for the sake of whining. Thank you for proving yourself, BABY!

    4. Quakebass

We’ll get more info at E3…

I honestly doubt Kaz would be daft enough to include standard model cars, and carry the useless duplicate cars a premiums as well.

  129. E46fanatic937

Porsche would be nice heck they have the whole Audi/VW AG manufacturers why not Porsche. But I would be ok with RUF again as long as we have some sort of forced induction flat 6 in the game they sounds great and have a smooth power band also quite torquey chracterristics of an inline 6 and a v6 what more ya need lol.

  130. DarkShadow177

I’m surprised they have an Alfa Romeo TZ3 Stradale. Basically it’s just an old Dodge Viper SRT10. Same engine, same interior, same power but different body…hmmm, not much of a difference to me, it will just be a very fast Alfa. Hopefully we’ll get to see the Ferrari F12 in GT6 as we have talked about the car non-stop for the past week.

So GT6 is going to be pushing the boundaries of the PS3 to it’s limits, I always knew the PS3 is more capable than some people might think. All I can say is that I’m hoping GT6 won’t have delays in it’s creation towards the release date, also hoping for no prologue version. PD now proves that GT is and always will be the king of car simulators, no more debates about Forza vs GT because clearly GT has already won.

As for the cars. I see they have a Tesla model S, that’s great, we needed a bit more powerful and good looking saloon cars in the GT series. As far as I can tell, I didn’t hear anything about off-road cars like Land Rover or Ford, but I shouldn’t be speculating about that, this is still a concept and more are yet to come.

    1. BWX

They already pushed it to it’s limits. Look at the shadows and dust.. it looks like crap. It will still look like crap. GT6 should never be released on the old pathetic PS3.

    2. TokoTurismo

BWX is a troll, and a BIG ANNOYING ONE too who cries over everything that’s GT. Don’t worry though, he’s all talk now but when GT6 releases, just watch how fast he’ll pick it up. ;)

    1. HuskyGT

Nah, Ruf are not tunned Porsches. They are a manufacturer of their own. Still, as close as it gets to having Porsche.

    2. blksentra2

Ruf manufactures their own cars, but they use Porsche chassis. That explains why they look like Porsches.

The closest we’ll get to driving one in the GT series.

      But I’m fine with that.

  131. V12FREAK

I dont really belive that this is the main trailer… And btw i expexted a better “6” as a number tho.

  132. E46fanatic937

Im sceptical about the release date too.I do expect a few put backs. But I look at it like this at least we are to the point that PD has actually officially annonced GT6 now all we can do is wait. So stage 1 announcing stage complete.

  133. E46fanatic937

I hope they add newer cars.Their are so many good new cars that have come out lately.Auto industry is in a good place right now but a lot of the cars look too similar and are a little hefty but they have the power to back it up.

    1. Raggi Boy

You’re wrong, new cars are turd and lifeless, old cars are far more fun and wonderful, if you like new cars well… then it shows you don’t know much about cars.

  134. ZedMan1996

Cannot wait to put aero mods on Martin Brundle’s Rocket! (The orange light-weight car that looks like an old F1 car which it is based on but for the road.)

    1. Sick Cylinder

Gordon Murray’s Rocket – 370kg. Yamaha bike engined – should be great fun to drive.

  135. hairystig

So carrying over all the cars from gt5, does that mean as they are I.e. standard or are they all going to be upgraded to premiums that’s what I wanna know.

    1. ScotteDawg

We can only hope that ALL cars go premium!

Remember, a few cars were released as DLC and we got 1 that was already in the game – the Jaguar XJ9 LM car! My belief is that that was just a teaser for what they are doing or have done for GT6!

  136. kickstart88

Please forgive me, firstly for not having read all the previous comments so sorry if any of these points have already been covered, but mainly for being cynical here. I want to be excited about this, I really honestly do, but I can’t help having a couple of doubts about this. Firstly, the release date. After the numerous delays GT5 suffered, do people still have faith that PD are going to be able to stick to having GT6 finished by the end of the year? I guess if a lot of the cars and tracks are transferred straight from GT5 then this would fairly drastically cut down the development time, but this brings me to my second concern, which I believe a couple of people have already highlighted, the return of “standards” which would be a big disappointment in my opinion.
I also can’t help but be cynical about the claim of “Multiple aerodynamic parts and custom wheels will be available for almost all cars”. You could argue that this isn’t new at all seeing as pretty much all the standards have a choice of 3 different rear wings, so I’ll be reserving judgement on that one.
On the plus side, the new physics model does sound very promising, so I will look forward to seeing more trailers of that in action.
As I said at the start of this ramble, I really do want to be excited about the prospect of a new Gran Turismo game, so I sincerely hope that all of my doubts are proven to be completely wrong and we’re all enjoying this by Christmas!

    1. JaySamurai

No worries man, no one is going to throw tomato’s at you for having concerns. I feel the same actually though it is early to cast judgment, It just feel’s more like GT5.2 upgrade rather than a fresh game. Maybe it is going to be a fresh up to date game, but my concerns are has Kaz and PD learnt from old mistakes !!

Excited but not 100% convinced yet.

    2. ScotteDawg

PD have been on GT6 since the PS3 came out!
Sure, they took their time with GT5 and we had a few delays, but because it’s still on the PS3, there should not be any delays at all.
On the other hand, when the PS4 comes out, expect delays for the release of GT7!

  137. MLRSparco

I’d love to see more bmw’s and it looks like there may be a livery maker which is awesome.

  138. E46fanatic937

I cant help but be a little excited about this. But best we can do is shut up wait and see.Hope for the best expect the worst.Long live PD

    1. infamousphil

Right on E46… hope for the best and expect the worst. Meaning, PD and Kaz are working their arsses off to improve our experience with Gran Turismo. But in pure salesmanship fashion they won’t bother to remind us that what they’re implying will not be applied across the board.

  139. acedition333

As far as 1200 cars goes…. are some standards that will transfer to premiums be considered a “new” car?? I wonder. Happy about the news…..

I think it will be released the day before Thanksgiving here in the U.S.
    11/27/13 ???

  140. GTHEAD87

this is good news, can’t wait for it. glad to see the quattro make it for :). hopefully some old skool gt tracks ;)

    1. JaySamurai

Would also be nice if we could select our A.I opponents. It would be nice if they basically just give us options on or offline to fix and play out a race the gamer would want.

    2. blksentra2

I hope the A.I. Is more aggressive this go around.

Maybe PD will program in that one a**hole driver that you always see online who uses other cars to slow down for turns and deliberately (and frequently) performs the P.I.T. Maneuver on you when your in the lead on the last lap!

      LoL!

  141. ROFFATI

I’m afraid that everyones expectations are sooooo high, so that everyone will be disapointed in the end.
    Thats so sad.

So i will not expect enything, so that i’m happy when i play it the first time and not be disapointed.

At least i don’t have to by the ps4 on its release date. ;)

  142. EuGenixX

    What are the new Tracks?

So GT6 will be playable on PS3?… Thats good news..

I’d like to see more Australian content

    1. EuGenixX

The track was scanned… So I’d love to see it in GT6… with some V8 Supercars to go with it..

  143. JaySamurai

Id love to see the end of standard cars/tracks (I highly doubt we have seen the end of Standard cars, Does that mean the standard race tracks also remain?)

Also i hope the single player experience is much better (selecting A.I opponents and difficulty settings)

And for the life of me, please improve on the sound.

Just hope Kaz and PD have taken notes from what other racing games are doing so we can enjoy a much more up to date experience.

So far so good, can’t wait for more info.

Oh and bigup Jordan, nuff respect bro.

  144. Fastas

What great news! Congrats/thanks to the PD team on 15 years of Gran Turismo and for making the announcement of GT6 such a positive and exciting event.
#15yearsof GT was a close second best to being at Silverstone and the outpouring tweets, images and video link allowed a simultaneous announcement, including the updating of the GranTurismo.com site. It really suggests that the lesson has been learned of teasing and delaying, like the release of GT5.
Roll on ‘Holiday 2013’ when ever that is,…(mine’s booked in July this year PD ;) )

  145. LarryL

I certainly disagree that GT should get matchmaking because matchmaking means rankings and records. Deciding that GT5 would have no ranks online was probably the smartest thing PD did in GT5, and I would truly HATE for it to get ranks in this new game. All ranks and W/L records do for games is make the majority of players play like d-bags wrecking you for every position on the track to save their precious ranks. Almost every racing game with ranks is PLAGUED with this issue. Meanwhile GT5 is probably the #1 most populated online racing game in the world on a nightly basis, yet has by FAR the least amount of jerks racing online. It’s not a coincidence. It’s because GT5 has no rankings.

The only rankings I like for GT are the same things that are ranked in GT5. Online ranked time trials, things like that.

  146. Fisha695

So that orange car (‘Rocket’ as it’s called in the screenshot URLs), is that a real car or one of those fantasy GT Openwheel cars that have been included in the series over the years?

    1. Sick Cylinder

The Rocket is a real car designed by Gordon Murray, 370kg, Yamaha motorbike engine powered – should be great fun to drive in the game.

  147. RandomCarGuy17

I am wondering about a couple of things about GT6 that really have me interested.

Kaz saying that cars will be contiually added online & us being able to personalize our custom cars in the greatist level possible.
    What do those means?
A possible livery editior feature? Being about to have more tuning options for the cars such as tire pressure?
Could new cars be possibly added constantly to GT6 as online DLC? If that’s the case for any of those 3, then I’m definitely going to love GT6.

  148. Fisha695

People keep reading “Players can create their own personalised custom car” as “Livery Editor” when in reality watch it be the exact same thing we have now just a few more different wings/bits to add onto it & maybe a custom license plate. hah

I’m guessing the PC/Phone/Tablet will basically be similar to the interaction that a PC can do now which is B-Spec stuff & likely you’ll be able to use it to message friends and check in on what’s new in the game but nothing really more then that.

  149. 0ldman279

If it isn’t too late to ask PD questions, is there any chance of a more detailed engine config?

I build cars as a hobby, mine and my friends’. I’d like to actually choose parts, aftermarket or factory, and mix and match to create my combo. I want to build my car, or as close as I possibly can, for GT5 or GT6.

As such, I’d like to request the Ford Maverick and Mercury Comet, but I’m not holding my breath.

  150. Guardian

“players can personalize their own custom cars in game to the greatest ever level possible.”

    Let’s hope this means a liver editor. ; )

Thanks a-lot for the coverage and information Jordan. Hope the trip was amazing! :gtpflag:!

  151. Tallgeese69

I’m glad we are getting new dynamics in the upcoming title. Hopefully we can see added factors to the vehicles and tracks.

  152. chevyisthebest

ya this is great an all but do they still have standerd cars were u cnt c the inside?or is it finally fixed

  153. lbpomg95

Good reporting, Jordan. I look forward to seeing more information released – but not too sure what to think on “all GT5 cars return”. I suppose even if there’s several hundred standard cars it’s better than nothing. Still, too early to judge, really.

In some ways I’m glad to see a PS3 release so I can play this game without spending on the new system. But it would have been good to see what they could do with PS4’s tech.

    1. ScotteDawg

Keep in mind that one of the DLC cars was already in the game – the Jaguar XJ9R Race Car!

So we ended up with two of them, one standard, one premium.

I have a feeling that they have been working on GT6 since before the release of GT5, which is why GT5 was delayed, so all (or at least 80%) should be upgraded by now!

  154. TomBrady

Can’t wait to try the Light Car open wheel thing. It’s 370kg and 148hp so it should be a ton of fun like a formula ford or classic F1 car. Plus the xbox should be cool too. Hope they upgrade some of the standard cars like the veyron and add more european cars.

Course maker improvements sound awesome as well as the customization and mutliplayer stuff. I hope the clubs and event creator is implemented intuitively. It’s a great idea but if not done in an intelligent way it could be disappointing.

Most of all I really hope they add the ability to do matchmaking for races. Most of us don’t want to have to spend time searching for racing lobbies that we like, they should make matchmaking to narrow down the two groups in GT5s fanbase, the casuals and the sim racers. I’ve been saying for a while they should do that, there should be ranked and unranked race lobbies plus custom lobbies. THe ranked lobbies should have full realism like tire wear, heavy damage, no driver aids except maybe ABS (especially don’t let people use auto tranny, crazy that there’s not an option to restrict that), and the cars should also be restricted to the tires they came with. Unranked lobbies could allow assists, grippier tires, light damage, etc.

    1. smskeeter23

Im cool with auto transfer on cars that dont have a manual option or at least had the option FOR an auto trans.

  155. FLX1981

Dunno, those screens are nice but not really mindblowing. The car models look good, but pCARS car models look better. Silverstone looks nice but RRRE and Grid 2 look nicer.

Cool to hear that they are working on some of the biggest criticism that players had about GT5. Personally, I really, really hope for a challenging AI this time and for more realistic and exciting racing. And better sound, of course. I ll buy it anyway for the Quattro S1 and the Dino alone, but to keep me playing they have to make the game part much better, not only the driving part.

Oh and Kaz… please no more endurance races @ Tsukuba, please! Have mercy! :D

  156. Whodoyouthink

Hope there are no standards. Other than that I think I’ll be happy with whatever new stuff we get with this game.

  157. Madertus

They said there will be over 1200 cars in this game, including ALL from GT5.

Does that mean we’ll have Standards again…?

    1. TomBrady

No they mean it’ll be like Call of Duty and battlefield where you can do things on your profile with a PC. GT is not going to the PC ever dude

  158. Mulan

Good work Jordan! Perhaps you are not allowed to write what you want just yet so you get to drive what you want :)
But as soon as the adrenaline stuff is done…please report regarding sound and AI

  159. 4nDr01D3

Greatest news of the year for me…GT6 on PS3, better engine, new livery editor with more parts, more tracks, better comunity features, more cars, better course maker… hoping the ultimate GT experience will arrive in the holidays!!

  160. TokoTurismo

Thank you for everything you’ve done Jordan, I’m so excited for GT6. :D Looks so good and love the number 6 in the logo. :)

  161. ml_paladin888

Some questions I have that will probably answered in E3/GamesCom:

will the T500RS continue to be the “official” wheel of gran turismo? or will there be a new wheel released? obviously with logitech pulling out of the game controller business, we wont likely see anything new from them.

will content released as DLC for GT5, be “main” (included) content in GT6?

  162. 2012GT325

I can’t stop smiling :) This trailer is so epic and has made me so very happy.

GT6 AND GTA V in same year!

Let’s hope Sony/PD sticks to releasing GT6 on time for 2013 Holidays and that all cars are “Premium”

  163. Magic Ayrton

It’s very exciting.. I must hear the engine sounds before I buy though.. but very positive.. :-)

    1. sepulturite

Are you saying that the sounds are that important and if they’re not right you wouldn’t buy the game? That’s pathetic if you do mean that dude! Gameplay is what should matter

  164. raceorama123432

Interested in the “Players can make their own perfonalized car” section. If this is what I think it is, will be MEGA!!!

  165. TheGTGuy

I was wondering the countach is premium which is great but will that be 1 of the 200 new cars or is it just old from GT5 but Premium??So there will be 200 new cars that arnt in GT5.

    1. sepulturite

It is 200 new cars, did you not watch the clip? There’s the new Alfa, sls amg gt3, xbow etc etc

  166. mickoafna

Yeah, still too much standard cars… BUT…I’m glad they added a few cars I wanted too see in GT series and a couple of tracks too :) Thank you Kaz & Polyphony from the bottom of my heart! You make my life fabolous!!! :)

  167. HuskyGT

Is this real life, or is this just a dream?

I woke up to this and I literally ran like crazy all around the house. I hope PD doesn’t disappoint. They have so much to prove after all the negatives of GT5 and what other driving games have been doing in the past years.

Yamauchi San, I believe in you!!

  168. VspecZR1GT2RS89

My dream GT is finally here!!! :D
1200 cars, close to 100 tracks (including different sections), improved tire and suspension model from the guys at KW and Yokohama…. I’m buying GT6 and GTA V when they come out. I’m going to be very busy when I get them both!

    1. ICEMAN_ZIDANE

      1. ORGASM
      2. Cant Wait !
      3. SLS AMG GT 3 ( PLEASE add the beauty SLS AMG Black Series too)
      4. There was a “mountain” track where we saw the Audi quattro , whats the name of it?

      5. Jordan you said the video will be released after the announcment . When ? Where ?

  169. earfin

YES!! I knew it GT6 for ps3 from the first time GT5 was released because PD always had 2 GT’s for every console generation :)

  170. ExplodeTheApex

This has made me so happy!!! I don’t even mind what else is in the game, it sounds great already :) :D Those of you who choose to whine and moan because they haven’t converted 800 standards into premiums (each one takes months to do, and PD is only a 150 person odd organisation), added new, up to date cars, a whole new livery editor as well as the extra wheels and aero parts, 25 new tracks, each with time and weather change, all in 3 years. Think again. Magic isn’t real.

    1. ajtaidavid2000

OOHH GOODD IM SOO HAPPYYY!! :D The best day in my life!! :) i hope they have old soundtracks from gt4 and oldd tracks like smokey mountain or ss11 or grand canyon or swiss alps!! I HOPE!!

    1. Pit Crew

Grow up and deal with it. Drink your Haterade and be happy. Maybe you should go back to work on that silly profit analysis claim you made in the forums.

  171. Dude27

    Disappointing: More like a GT5.5
    – Nothing about the biggest Achille’s heel of GT serie… THE SOUND.
    – New graphic engine? these screens look Exactly like GT5 (even worst with this yellowish chromatic filter)
    – $69 dollars + $5-20 every month to see Barthurst, Catalonia, and maybe the old stars of GT4 (Midfield, El Capitan..)
    – 150 new cars only?
    – still 800 standards? are you kidding me???

    On the +:
    – the new physics and suspensions

    1. sepulturite

It’s 200 new cars, and it hasn’t been said yet whether there is going to be standard cars again.

    2. HuskyGT

I was a bit concerned with the 1200 cars. there is no way in hell all the cars will be PRremium. But we don’t know how many of those were probably turned into premium. It’s too early to start criticizing the game since we haven’t heard the exact details.

After all the negative and positive feedback, I’m sure PD will give us the GT of our dreams.

    3. StiggyGT

Believe me, there’ll be standards, PD have their way… But that doesn’t mean it won’t be amazing!

    4. ICEMAN_ZIDANE

The difference between GT and other games is that PD copies the cars from real into the game, 1:1. Its not like in Forza, NFS, Grid, TDU… where the cars look similar to the real ones, in GT they are identical .

200 cars thats awesome. How many P Cars do we have in GT 5 ? 220-250?
Btw games like NFS has only ~50cars…

      +new parts, customisation….

      Just awesome

    5. TomBrady

First of all, it’s not $69, where the hell are you getting that. Second of all, if you don’t want standards don’t drive them. They could have just done 400 cars and left out the standards, and then you’d complain about that too.

Thridly, what game in this series is really that different from the previous? They’re all very similar. GT5 made the most innovations, and GT6 is building off it. not to mention, you don’t know how the new community features will pan out, that could create a whole other dimension to it. I mean, what series in gaming doesn’t build on the previous games? You’re just like all the call of duty haters out there “it’s the same every year”, what series isn’t like that? They’re all like that because if they changed everything they’d alienate fans. It’s such a stupid complaint, they have to stay true to the brand

  172. MOV Games

Although great news, there’s one crucial piece of information for me that isn’t included. Of the 1200 cars, how many are Premium? If they have just added new ones instead of converting cars like the Veyron, All Standard Lamborghini’s and the Mazda Furai, its a pretty big let down for me.

    1. BronzeMartin

It would seem that the Countach has been premiumified. So that’s one in the right direction.

    2. HuskyGT

The Countach can be a hint that either standards have been turned into premiums, a great portion of the standard list have been turned, or unfortunately just a few.

Still, it’s too early to tell. Who knows, maybe the most popular ones have been given the Premium treatment.

  173. oatmeal so good

YESSS. Although not for the PS4, excitement cannot be contained! I do sense a delay coming though lol

  174. Foxiol

Just Amazing. What more can I say.
Jordan, Did you heard anything about the engine sounds and anything related?

Thank you for the info…you are the man!
