GT Academy Winner Completes First Racing Season
October 3rd, 2009 by Jordan
Things just keep getting better for GT Academy winner Lucas Ordonez! After taking his first race win at Zolder, his RJN Nissan team was running second in the championship standings for the GT4 European Cup with only one race left in the season. What happened at the last event? You’ll have to watch the video above to find out -- let’s just say some mechanical gremlins didn’t want to make things too easy… The team pressed on, though, with very impressive results.
At risk of sounding like a broken record, congratulations and thank you, Lucas, for representing sim racers so well. We all look forward to seeing what you and the GT Academy have in store for us next year!

The first season is done! Great job! Also there’s an example of GT2 driver Tommy Milner who started with sim-racing. So maybe some day we’ll see the entire team of sim-grassroots guys!

Congrats to Lucas and Alex for a fantastic season. They probably would have done the double without those mechanical problems. Lucas overtaking on the inside to 2nd in the second race is a classic.
Again well done to all the team.

Why do you say that, Mustangmiha?

I really like how they couldn’t slow Alex down at the end of the race. And it was definitely obvious that he was going full out. I feel like he was trying to prove what his team could have done had it not been for mechanical issues.
