    @GT5FTW
That’s obviously a joke post. Someone posing as mr. Arrogance himself, Dan Greenwalt, Director of Forza. The commentator was just implying Microsoft ignorance, Forza 3 has a perfect damage engine ( even though everyone who has played it know it’s flawed) while everyone else’s games suck no matter what.

    1. Jakemania

Take advantage of the reply button bud. I just basically typed what you did cause I didn’t see that you had already replied without using the reply button haha. It’s there for a reason! It actually works wonders. On the bright side, you weren’t responding to a comment that was 50 posts up =p

  2. DarthTurismo

Cmon Dan… what are we 10 years old here???

Let the GT fans enjoy their excitement at the release (finally) of GT5.

Not that this will put an end to the boring ongoing war between GT and Forza… but really i’m just happy that there are people out there that are as passionate (or even more so) than i am about cars.. and they have the money and know how to create such wonderful games for us car nuts that will never have the money to drive these awesome cars (both from the present and the past)

The way i see it… Forza is the car fanatics wet dream for ppl with Xbox and of course GT is the equivalent for the PS3 brigade…

and those that own both… well we are lucky enough to enjoy both games… and yes i think both series have brought healthy competition to the table.. regardless of what each company may say they are both keeping a close eye on each other to see how far they push the envelope.

Forza 3 is a great game. GT5 i think will surpass it… the finished game will be incredible i’m sure.

Turn10 will then have it’s time when Forza4 comes out.
and who benefits all this…. we do as consumers :-)

So let’s appreciate what both studios are doing for us. I know i am incredibly excited about GT5… and i’m also excited to see what Turn10 do to respond.

    peace.

  3. Dan Greenwalt

Hey, how dare you all say Forza 3 is inferior! Yes, it’s me, your benevolent god of sim racing. I can’t believe how excited you all are about weather. GT5 still doesn’t have a livery editor, so suck on that rain! GT5’s damage system? Hah, not even close to FM3! In FM3, you get rear ended, the sides of your car get damaged. That’s realistic damage! Not like GT5, where the damage happens at the point of impact. So unrealistic. Online mode? Won’t even come close to Forza! I got Microsoft XBox Live getting my back, son! Charging you an extra 10$ starting soon!
Kaz passed the torch to me! Remember? You
should all be bowing to me Aka Danny G., DG, Delta Golf! Forza 3 is better than all racing
    games, even on the PC!
And to all those that talk negatively about Forza on here and I find out you have a Live account, and I find out your gamer tag, you will be banned for life. How dare anyone talk about Forza like that! It’s years beyond anything coming out.
    DG out!

    1. GT5FTW!

@ D.G “In FM3, you get rear ended, the sides of your car get damaged. That’s realistic damage! Not like GT5, where the damage happens at the point of impact. So unrealistic.”

In your comment you made forza 3 sound unrealistic and gt5 realistic thanks here’s why
      1) In real life if you get rear ended your rear will get damaged not your sides
      2) In real life damage happens at the point of impact.

    2. Jakemania

      @GT5FTW!
Dude… can’t you tell he was being sarcastic? He was bashing Forza and Dan Greenawalt (he spelled it wrong) in general since Dan is an arrogant punk. If you haven’t already figured it out, Dan Greenawalt is the producer of Forza. If you’ve ever read any of Dan’s actual comments about Forza and his opinion of other racing games such as GT, this topic post makes 100% sense.

  4. J. Hayden-Kart Racer

well i was watching this video and came across an amazingly awesome coincidence. while watching the karting portion of the video(i race go karts) i noticed that the name J. Hayden appeared on the leaderboard- THATS MY NAME. i almost cr*pped my pants

    1. F.G.

Yeah, it’s pretty pathetic. He argues for the sake or arguing, even if he doesn’t have a leg to stand on. Him and BoBo…man, what a partnership…

  5. Craigles

Does anyone know if gt5 will be compatible with any steering wheel. Because it only seems to work with logitech steering wheels (which i dont have) i have a very old ps2 wheel which does the same job it really bugged me when i couldnt play with it on gt5 prologue. I really dont want to fork out £50 for a new wheel when i have been saving for a rookie playseat for ages.

I know i said that i had a g25 in a previous comment but that is one i borrowd off my fiend who is at uni. But it turns out he is going to be visiting home alot more than expected so he asked for it back :(

  6. chris

to correct/ help frame rate, surely they could just drop the number of cars from 16 to 12 or at worst 8. if the ai is as adaptable and good then there isnt really the need for 16 cars on track. or was he referring to lag online? 16 cars wet weather and damage.

    1. Geo_212

It’s funny that, after all of the whining and complaining about not seeing 16 cars on-track, they’ll get the game and wish PD had dropped the number of on-track cars due to frame-rate drops. lol

    2. Philmangt

      @Geo_212
Lol so true. i was excited at first about the extra cars on the track, but if the AI is really good, there really isn’t any need for a bunch of cars. i mean could you imagine doing one of the beginner races that are only 3-7 laps long and starting at the very back of 15 cars lol. if the cars were evenly matched, that would be a nighmare.

    1. Geo_212

I’m hoping I can make the midnight launch… but it just so happens I have a school class the next morning, so I might not be able to make it :(

      (And I’m homeschooled, if you’re wondering :P)

    2. Mr Frappy

No, we were not wondering at all, nor do we give a crap to be honest. Homeschooling is usually reserved for those who are unable to fit into the social environment at normal schools and is hardly something to boast about.

    3. Geo_212

Or, I’m homeschooled because I don’t want to “fit in” in the disgustingly perverted and distorted view of most people today. Look in the mirror and maybe you’ll see what I see.

    4. pikalulz007

      @MrFrappy

a)Don’t use “we” when you don’t know the intentions of other people, that’s just you.
b)Just do us all a favor and shut the hell up =\

    5. Maxiboy

Geez MrFrappy way to make it personal! And to be honest I was wondering what a “school class” was, so shut the hell up some of us WERE wondering.

  7. GT-Fan157

The Jeff Gordon NASCAR driving school will be great. Can’t wait anymore. COME NOVEMBER 2nd!!!  LOL.

    KEEP EM COMING PD

  8. GT-Fan157

GT5 is awesome, as we all know. Forza, well, can’t talk about it since I don’t have it. This will rock the house. Can’t wait for November 2nd . I got got the logitech driving force GT just for this. Rain looks outstanding & graphics are out of this world, LOL. Most of my PSN friends are getting it, yay!

They should add Texas motor speedway & Watkins Glen international to the game, & maybe some more NASCAR drivers for example Michael Waltrip, which appeared in older GT5 trailers, but I haven’t seen it since.

The Jeff Gordon NASCAR driving school will be great. Can’t wait anymore. COME NOVEMBER 2nd!!!  LOL.

  9. sidsid118

Its a good job there are invisible/ visible walls or some of these ‘drivers’ would be going across the country now, my god they are bad!

  10. Craigles

Did they not say that every car and track from gt4 would be in gt5. I think it was the first thing confirmed since the anounsment date. Way back !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! years ago

  11. chris

looks great…. however. it’d be good to get an idea of tracks in the game, i know there basically showcasing the new features and tracks… but id be a bit gutted if grand valley, midfield raceway and autumn ring were not included. wheres monaco and seattle?

as in trailers so far weve only seen the tracks weve seen in demos. im not expecting to see many gt classic tracks.

  12. NickB

So, there’s only rain on the Eiger? Is that the deal?
I’ve not seen it anywhere else yet – or is this just a restriction of the TGS demo?

  13. Craigles

Then why did i just complete one then. Or mabey i got it wrong. But i think i would remember what race i did. Although on the other hand i am ginger sooo mabey i could of mistakin it for something else lol

    Or mabey your wrong :o

  14. Ringmaster

It has been confirmed that the center of gravity will be affected on cars by head-tracking with ps-eye, on the previous E3. Kazunori explained that they wanted to adjust the karts to the reality as much as possible, and changing the center of gravity helps you in the corners.

  15. Hentis

Nice to see that there is a working pit lane on the Eiger track. ALthough it was there in GT5P you could drive down it as it was barricaded.

  16. Soarin1

Graphics Look Great! – Not bad at all when taking into account that this footage is recorded, come November we will all see and experience just how far things have come.

  17. CamAndTom

I think it’s hilarious how nobody is trying to argue how Forza is better. They know they don’t stand a chance. Nobody does. GT5 reigns.

    1. acevt06

Well sorry to ruin your parade, as far as everybody knows forza is still on top of gt5 on a couple things. Dont get me wrong im a gt fan but forza so far got us in:
      * Customization (As we know so far)
      * Livery Editor (Not really complaining)
      * Damage quality ( For some reason dealers are way more strict with PD than forza :()
and whatever else you can think of… Oh yeah why couldnt you turbo a corvette in gt4, does that make any sense?

    2. Geo_212

“Customization (As far as we know)”
That’s just it: we DON’T know yet. We don’t know a lot about GT5 YET… you can’t say “whatever else you can think of” in Forza is better than GT5, because there are still many mysteries about GT5, which will probably be revealed when it’s released. Also, the damage “quality” in GT5, so far, is better than Forza (believe me, I played it for six hours straight one day…). And now you’re comparing Forza 3 with GT4? There are many flaws with your statements.

    3. acevt06

You know what your right in a sense. But we’ll see. I just cant wait untill that release, then im goin to scream to the gods :) Is that a false statement :D

    4. ponyhorse

well…some people still tried, not much of an argument though haha GT5 just massacred forza. btw dealers might be afraid of how PD will closely resemble damage in their cars so some kind of restriction is put into place acevt06. can we get real arguments in here? anyone? i can customize so much in need for speed but it does not make it a better game than GT. peace out

    5. Geo_212

And don’t get me wrong, I still really like Forza 3. (And I meant “which will probably *only* be revealed when it’s released” lol)

    6. Philmangt

Well for one, you just can’t slap a turbo onto a car. much more goes into that. realistically to get the power gains that those turbos give you in the game, youd need forged pistons, custom piping, etc. but hey im not a fan of turbos anyway.

  18. Flash3001

Does anybody here understand italian ? I just speek portuguese and I’d like to know what this guy says from minute 1:58 though 2:06,

    1. Bernd

It’s not a pit-lane, but the extended version of the track.
Guess, a pitlane would be in upper section around the Hotel

    2. helix_9

It looks like a pit lane in Prologue. Look at the markings on the track where that section joins. It looks like a pit exit lane marked out on the track.

    3. iCyCo

Like helix said, if you check prologue you’d see it’s a pitlane based on the markings and also the ‘track’ width you see here a smaller

    4. MercedesSLS

when i looked it looked like an extra section for rallying but it was pissing down with rain so i couldnt really see it

    5. ryanvampirate

i am talking about on the map. There is like a new leg shown on the map. If that is a pit lane, why would it be as big as the track lol. and a 180degree turn in the middle of pit lane. not saying it couldn’t i just would jump to the conclusion.

  19. Juan

I like how that cone just goes flying when he straight shoots the 1st chicane at La Sarthe!!… I sure as hell can’t wait until my collectors edition gets here!!! Hell YEAH!!

    1. occasionalracer

It’s been known for a long time that vehicle manufacturers will not allow their products to roll over as well as crumble together on heavy collisions.

    2. Geo_212

      @occasionalracer
It’s already been shown in trailers for GT5 that the game will include vehicle rollover, they just haven’t shown it in a demo yet.

    3. occasionalracer

Oh ya true Geo_212, forgot about that a few months back that wild footage of racecars flipping, but that will be limited to racecars with rollcages. I guess if we’re not getting gameplay footage of that at TGS, we’re likely not gonna see it until the game is released.

  20. BDawg

At the beginning in the Citroen at Le Mans, the sense of speed is so much better in cockpit view than the chase cam, looks like standard cars are going to be a bit of a pain in that case, in the cockpit view it actually seems like you’re doing 300km/h down the Mulsanne straight

    1. Geo_212

They did increase the sense of speed overall, so it’s not that bad. I’m not so sure I’ll be driving with the cockpit view anyway, unless there’s a feature where you can turn the in-game steering wheel off.

  21. Zero

This game is just mind boggling. I really like the GT by Citroen race car. They should make one for real life, lol its amazing.

    1. Philmangt

your right it would make your entire day because thats how long it would take you to lap the Nordschleife in a kart

    1. occasionalracer

Ever raced a kart? Looks just about accurate to me going through such a wide turn. Karts don’t need the same steering input as full sized cars as there is no weight to transfer.

    2. J. Hayden-Kart Racer

i agree with smoky427, i had a race today at the local track and if u watched my hands, they barely move an inch or 2 (well on oval)

  22. viejaloca

Wow, that guy driving in the rain! It’s not that he sucks it’s that driving when it’s wet looks alot harder than it did in GT4 or3. I’m glad you can still hydropool and not just slide around!

  23. Craigles

I cant wait to be in cockpit view with my brand new g25 race setup on the final lap of a 24 hr race at the nurbergring having had on/rain non-stop plus it being dark listening to the song mountains by biffy clyro soaking up the applause from the crowd. HEAVEN!!

Also just finished a 24hr race at laguna seca on gt4. You feel sooo good once you finish. And this is a game with no weather no day/night cycle no damage just pit crews dry tyres and a track. So can you imagine how good you would feel once you finish one on gt5. Anyone invented a time machine yet?

  24. Team_MoFF-No2

Hmm It’s Ok.. I need the game before I can be so happy as you guys.. Visually it’s a mixed impression, which spoils the fun a bit.. EX: There isn’t a single drop of water on the cars, even though the win-shield is blasted with rain.

I’m close to think that GT5 will be all to pretty and digitally in it’s view, it’s almost like what happen to music productions in the 90’s, which kills the impression of it overall .. but Gameplay/driving/competing will be spot on I’m sure, but am I ecstatic over the overall visuals of GT5, No not really.. F1-2010 – Dirt2-3 – shift – Grid2 is at the same level, and some of them is over like the F1-2010.. But that’s just my opinion, you don’t have to agree, for us to be competing on the tracks.. hehe

    1. momoniu

that would be fun for the first 10 mins, then you realize your only going 100 km/h, and your still on the first downhill stretch

    2. occasionalracer

Ya that’d be retarded, you’d be toggling along with no challange whatsoever..just flat out no brakes taking in the scenery… ohh wait then you may have a heart attack wondering why trees are 2d. Better stick to a proper racecar.

    3. FlareKR

If you’d start karting the ring on Nov.2nd, you’ll finish the first lap when GT7 releases. Either that or next year you’ll slip off and die from the Carousel.

  25. LSL1337

i guess 900 degree wheels wll be supported, but will the cars have 900 degree animation?, in the video above, the cars seem to have something like 200 degree, but they are used on a DFGT which upports 900
pls confirm the 900 animation, or correct me, thx!

    1. LSL1337

what o you mean? gt4 doesn’t even have cockpit view, you don’t see the wheel turning, let alone the will and driver 900 animation, what am i missing?

    2. Gamer GT5

LSL1337 GT4 did have 900 degree turning animation. Only when you drive in convertibles you can see the driver turning 900 with the steering wheel.

    1. GTracerRens

I think it’s just you. :P This looks awesome dude! I do understand your reaction, but when racing with cockpit view, the opponents do look real. ( to me )

  26. Adam

have we seen 16 cars in the rain yet? :( I know Kaz said that there could be performance issues with 15 cars kicking up spray in front of you so its clear there will be 16 cars in rainy conditions.. it would just be nice to see

    1. Troll

Sounds like a reasonable request. It would be expected that rally cars would have rally courses to race on. Now, apply that theory to karts.

    2. neema_t

Yeah, I wouldn’t want to take a kart around Fuji. I made that mistake with the Subaru 360 in GT4 back in 2006, finished the first lap last week.

The rain effects are gorgeous, I love the following:
The way the wipers actually appear to wipe each droplet of rain off.

The fact that when the driver spun the Z4M and stopped, the rain reacted accordingly. I was worried that it would just be one intensity.

Also the fact that, and this will sound stupid, but the fact that when they went through the tunnel the rooster tails (the spray) stopped. In a lot of other games things like that just aren’t taken into account, like for example how smoke grenades in MW2 can emit smoke through walls.

I can’t wait to see how the rain will effect tyre choices, if there are indeed specific tyres for the wet; I can’t see KY overlooking such a crucial detail as many F1 grand prix have been won and lost through tyre choice. I wonder if the AI will all pit at the same time and/or choose the same tyres, or if different AI cars will have different tyre strategies? And how awesome would it be if the F1 cars had different engine maps for full power and fuel saving so you could potentially last an entire race on one set of tyres? I’m dreaming now so I’ll end the post here.

    3. helix_9

It would be sweet if the karts have upgrades. 125cc and 250cc two stroke engines with gears. That would make the full size tracks more fun.

I wonder if PD have done anything with the head tracking on karts. Imagine if you could shift your centre of gravity by leaning your head to the left or right…

    4. GTracerRens

I agree with Berlino bear. Rome is to big for karting. But still, I am surprised by the raineffects on the carwindow everytime I watch. Eiger Norwand looks so much more realistic with all the fog and rain! I hope they add the new BMW Z4 in Gran Turismo 5… The last model of the Z4 is a lot better. I want a full car and tracklist now. I just can’t wait anymore lol. ;)
