@OZZPHERATU, Totally agree with you. I love playing GT6, its amazing but I still don’t get it about why they would remove those features? I was very disappointed when I saw it at first Arcade play.

      Grunt…
      Grunt…
Perhaps you could post something in the forums about how you feel, rather than blurting something apparently random on a news item thread that has absoloutely nothing to do with what you are complaining about…

GRAN TURISMO 5: Arcade Mode with 16 cars , tire wear and
    replenishment.
    GRAN TURISMO 6: That Nothing.

    FINALLY, WHAT DECEPTION.

I thought that this quick match could have been interesting (and it is) but join in a race takes a lot of time (matching, waiting others players, starting the race, ecc.) and too often i have been kicked out from the server; in an half of an hour it’s really difficult to make more of 2-3 complete races; warming up it’s impossible at the first screen, and now, in the most of times, even at the second screen; in any case, even if the warm up starts, it does not last for an entire lap: worthless. :(

Check your connection configuration. Quick Match has totally changed the way I play GT6. I would only do online races once a week, in organized series events with pre-registred drivers.

Now I can do fun short races in half an hour… things I was only doing in shooter of football games… more like casual fun.

That’s true, as I looked in the regular online after quick match came out and there were two room locally. Okay, there are more nowadays, but overall it is a lot quicker.

Are you hard wired to your router or modem? The GT6 Manual suggest that you use a secure internet connection directly to your modem for the optimum racing conditions. Not everyone will use their ISP just for racing on GT6 but it the highest quality you can obtain. First start by making sure your not using a wireless connection. All wireless connections will fail sooner or later. Secondly try directly connecting your ps3 ip address inside your router to Sony servers. This will make your router stop refreshing and have a constant flow of data with almost not interruptions. 3rd you should find a way to keep your ps3 cool, I am currently using a big box fan in front of my ps3 that is standing on its side. This keeps good ventilation, and you will need that since GT6 puts a huge load on your internet connection and makes the ps3 HOT quick. (what i meant about connecting your ip address to the sony servers…its called ‘port forwarding’ its very useful if your having connectivity issues. But among all else, use an ethernet cable!

try putting your PS3 in your routers DMZ. It’s very simple to do. First go on PS3’s network options and click “view connection status”. Write down your IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, Primary DNS, and Secondary DNS. You’ll need them for reference.

Go to a computer in your house, type in the number you wrote down for “Default Gateway” into Google Chrome/IE/Firefox’s address bar. That’ll bring you to your router settings page. If it asks for a password, just leave it blank and hit enter (should work unless you set a password).

Then just find where it says DMZ, turn DMZ on and have the IP address match the IP address you wrote down from your PS3.

Then go back to your PS3. Go to Set Up Internet connection, select Custom setup, and Manual IP Address setting. Then use all the numbers you wrote down before. Finish the setup, save the settings and you’re all set.
