This week’s new Online Time Trial hands the choice of car over to you. Gran Turismo 7 sends the entire Gr.3 category to Suzuka Circuit on Racing Medium tires, with Mid-Speed BoP applied and fixed settings.
Open-category events are the less common flavor of Time Trial, and this one lands just a couple of weeks after the controversial physics overhaul and BoP adjustments in Update 1.71. With every Gr.3 car eligible, it will be interesting to see how the leaderboard shakes out under the new rules.
It’s still early days, but the board is already showing what looks to be the pick of the litter. The Hyundai Genesis Gr.3 holds most of the top spots, with only the Lexus RC F GT3 ’17 and Ferrari 296 GT3 ’23 breaking into the leading group so far.
As for targets, expect to need something under 2:10.000 for bronze, 2:04.000 for silver, and 2:02.000 for gold once the event closes.
The previous event continues alongside it: the Honda Sports Vision Gran Turismo at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca on Sports Soft tires, which arrived last week. That one closes on Thursday, September 10.

Accessing Online Time Trials
If you haven’t tried one of these events before, you’ll first need to unlock Sport Mode by completing Menu Book 9 (“Championship: Tokyo Highway Parade”) in the GT Cafe; our full unlock guide is here. A PlayStation Plus subscription isn’t required.
Once an event closes, rewards are paid out based on how close you got to the top time: gold within 3% (2,000,000cr), silver within 5% (1,000,000cr), and bronze within 10% (250,000cr).
A new event arrives every Thursday, each running for two weeks, with the oldest dropping off as each new one lands. The next new Online Time Trial arrives September 10.
