Fanatec CSL Elite PS4 Now Available in North America

It’s been a long time coming, but the wait is over: Fanatec’s CSL Elite PS4 is now available for order in North America.

The company originally announced its first officially-licensed PS4 wheel base back in June. The Elite pairs Fanatec’s single-belt, brushless servo motor with select internals from the CSL’s big brother, the ClubSport 2.5 base. It features an 11.8-inch wheel wrapped in perforated leather and suede. In addition, the wheel boasts PS4-specific buttons — but also comes with a set of racing-oriented ones you can swap out as you see fit.

As per usual for Fanatec products, the CSL Elite fits into the company’s existing ecosystem. Players are encouraged to mix and match the rims, pedals, and other accessories available. One pairing we’ve had a chance to enjoy recently is the company’s new XB1 P1 rim. With the P1 mounted, the CSL Elite becomes a rig for any platform. Expect a full review next week.

If you’re wondering about the base itself, we’ve got a review of the Elite PS4 as well. The setup earned a 4.5-star rating from us, thanks to solid construction, lots of features, and the wide compatibility.

Fanatec’s been busy this month. News of the Elite’s North American availability comes hot off the heels of another wheel announcement. This weekend, the company will be showing off its first direct drive wheel. If you’re heading to the Sim Racing Expo at the Nürburgring, you’ll be amongst the first to see it.

Pre-orders are now available on Fanatec’s site. The estimated delivery date is September 27 if you order now — just in time for the upcoming deluge of sim racing titles!
