Hi all.

With this thread, I'd like to list every EASY fix/feature/thing that Polyphony Digital could implement in the game via patch.
Please note that this is NOT another wishlist thread for cars/tracks, or major things like "no more jaggies, no more tearing, livery editor and 120fps!!!".
I'm talking about realistic fixes, about features PD could add in a short amount of time.

I know there is the feedback section, but looking through the first pages I find some of them to be quite...sophisticated.

Ingredients (for PD):
- Someone with knowledge of the english language, in order to read certain forums and pick up good ideas to improve the game
- Some extra programmers to get the job done

> NO-BRAINER <

Arcade
- An option to choose what type of cars to race against in Arcade mode (i.e. '70 cars, GT500, etc.)

Dealership
- Ability to stay in the dealership while buying multiple cars
- Add more factory colours to cars (like the Lamborgini Gallardo or Jaguar XKR)

Garage
- Add a "random button"
- More sorting/filtering options (also in lobbies)

Game/Gameplay
- Pause the game if the gamepad disconnects
- Ability to change the units of measurement and speed in option menu (just like Gran Turismo 5 Prologue)
- Ability to freely turn on/off any HUD screen (more)
- Ability to set default car options once for all occasions (like SRF off, auto/manual, TCS/ABS etc.)
- Smoother motion of the camera when using left/right view in Cockpit View
- Cars with automatics can only be driven as an automatic; can't change gears on your own

Menu
- Autosave to be optional (more)
- Ability to delete duplicate museum cards
- Ability to skip cutscenes/animations
- Ability to delete individual results from speed testing/time trials

Online
- Ability to choose rolling start on all tracks
- 'Total time' as an option for races, instead of laps (i.e. 30 minutes races, 2 hours races, etc.)

- More shuffle race classes: Clasic Cars, GT500, LeMans, etc.

Photo Mode/Photo Travel

- Ability to control/stop the time progression in PhotoTravel (in Red Bull Hangar and San Galgano Abbey)

Not that easy, but still doable (my thoughts)
- Wet Top Gear Test Track (already exist in one of the license tests, but not sure if fully modeled)
- The ability to access the garage in GT Auto (more) (The game needs to load the full LOD of the car)

- A shop that allows you to buy racing outfits/helmets (same as above)

- Smoke: real/driftkid/off option (design choice)
- Brake upgrades and tire pressures (need to change the physics model)

Yeah, I know I'm quite late to the party, but...better late than never ;)
And I understand that many things I wrote are definitely old, but maybe listing everything in one place is a good thing.

I'll update this post with your requests.

Remember, only easy fixes and features. I hope someone at PD will see this thread before moving onto GT6. I know there's an update coming by the end of the month, so it's not too late.

Here's one: The ability to disable certain cutscenes at the main menu loading screen. For me, when the Jeff Gordon NASCAR cutscene is playing I can't select anything. Just another reason to dislike NASCAR.

Dont know if this is a quick fix but an option to dim the static race info ie: lap number, timer, tire/turbo indicator, rings around the speedo's. this is to help prevent image retention on plasma screens, its especially bad for plasmas when in cockpit view in a standard car, you have the jet black cockpit the you have the bright white ring on the speedos/turbo etc

- Extend the premium wheel selection to all standards (all premium wheels for all cars). It's all already modeled... easy!

- Have the option to remove the stock wing. (they are already separated, when you add a wing, it removes the stock wing)

- Wet Top Gear Test Track (already exist in one of the license tests)

- Tuning options unlocked for some cars (why I can't turbocharge a lambo?)

And completely +1 for point-to-point course maker.

The ability to add twin turbos to an engine, either sequential (one small one, then one big one for the high revs), or parallel (like a GTR, I think?) and I think it'd be cool if they had a "twin charge" option (turbo AND supercharger).

- Add a supercharger "whine" sound... works almost in the same way as turbo sounds, just need to replace the sound sample...

- Folders to better organize the car selection, then I can make a folder for racing cars, other for street cars, 450pp cars, 500pp cars, etc... etc... everyone will be able to organize the cars in the better way for each one.

- Option to "nickname" the cars, taking the car collection organization to an even better level... I can nickname my RUF as: "trackday RUF", "Yellowbird for 550pp", etc...

- Get back from GT4, the option to select the ammount of fuel the car will go to the track. With this, real fuel tank capacities for the cars. A Peugeot 106 doesn't have a 100 liter fuel tank.

*Folders - A must for anyone with OCD
*Wet TGTT - It seems to be wet at least half of the time in real life
*P2P Course Creator - Pushing it as far as "easy" goes, however this would make the game for me. Imagine the possibilities. We could make realistic rally events, drift through a mountain pass, and even just cruise down a windy road like we would in real life.

Yes! Look some of my posts below. Looks like most of us, GT players really know what we want. Same toughts man!

How about an option to delete duplicate museum cards?

Further to the OP, I was wondering if some of the problems with tuning parts and wheels not available on some specific cars is because the manufacturers requested that their cars not be allowed to be altered in a certain way? Just a thought... :)

[1] How bout they finally give us the ability to lower the premium Viper GTS properly and add the blue/white signature color combo. That is an easy fix. Its an SUV as it stands even when lowered all the way down.

[2] Ability to access the garage in GT Auto so we dont have to keep repeating the same load screens for every car we need to oil change, wash, add rims etc.

[3] Ability to access the garage in Practice mode, test course etc would also be nice.

[4] Ability to buy more than one car at a time in the UCD so you dont have to keep going back in to buy another car

[5] Ability to change Veyron wheels :)

A more dynamic, shaky cam, like the ones in (dare I say it?) forza 4. It gives a more free, vibrant atmosphere.

I hope PD will continue to improve the game. Most of these are really simple and good ideas which I'd love to see in the game.

It's a shame that if this was a pc game, most of these would've been modded already. The release of GT5 has thrown me into the world of modern console games for the first time and so far I've been really impressed with how much PD has improved the game over time. Since there's absolutely no way to make improvements to this game just by the power of the community I sure hope PD keep putting effort into this game. They'll get a lot money with future DLC so it's worth to keep this game alive and since they sort of ran out of time with the release there's still a chance to keep perfecting it.

It's almost perfect as it is. A bit clunky when it comes to some more intricate things but still manageable for the most part.

I agree... but the last time they tried... people hated, and said their eyes were jumping out of their heads, people puking on the ground, seizures, this stuff.

I'm j/k but as an option, it would be very welcome. :)

(BTW, I loved the dynamic cam they implemented on 2.03...)

I mean, instea of a fixed camera it could be a lose camera that ...nevermind :irked:

-Spa Day/Night/Weather
-Daytona Day/Night
-Variable Tire Wear
-Rolling start option
-Multi-class racing option
-Have an option for total time for races instead of laps (i.e. 30 minutes, 2 hours, etc.)
-Engine swaps: Swap the non-realistic sounds. Change the power, torque, and weight distribution. Sounds pretty easy to me.

- Ability to delete individual lap times
- An extension of the lap leaderboards, like the ones in Speed Test (up to 100)
- A paint preview system that actually shows your car in the selected color
- Ability to choose opponents in Arcade mode
- Correct camera angles for the Top Gear Test Track
- Garage icon in Practice mode
- More variety in A-Spec events
- IMPROVED engine sounds (correct samples are a must, even generic ones are acceptable)

Simple tweaks like these will make the game last until GT6 comes out.

-Weather, and day and night cycles for most tracks
-a wider selection of rims
-Bring back the exterior camera from GT3
-and finally, I would love to have a shop that allows you to buy racing outfits/helmets, rather than have to do online races, I'm tired of getting a million helmets, before I get one that actually is blue, however, it doesn't even match my suit. XP
