DUH! Forgot this was arcade mode. I can buy the car in GT mode and ahve it available in my garage, but not tuned. Sorry for the venting. Hope I can do better with my driving that with my words recently.

It's in simulation mode and you can't do any modifications other than tires, it's been stated plenty of times.

Ok, before I get hounded, I'm sure this has been asked many times, but I just want to make sure.

We are running in GT Mode in the tracks on the edges of the world in time trial mode. No mods except tires and unlimited suspension tuning.

So in the time trial mode, since it doesn't keep all of your lap times, we are supposed to write down every lap, then add up the total time at the end? or is there a way to set it to do a 20 lap race and then it will keep the total time and the lap times?

May be a dumb question, but I just wanted to get clarity...Thansk!

well first off its an arcade race so you cant heavily mod the car and you cant buy wings.
second off WRS isnt unbalanced because of car tuning everyone uses the same car, its shows that whoever wins has more skill than the next guy.
This is no different many of these cars are very fast some faster than others, it just takes skill and a bit of tuning know how to get you to win.

I think some people still think this is Arcade and some think it is GT mode. We need the Moderator!!!

im hoping we do it in gt mode my team car pushes like a dump truck and i just tweaked the suspension a bit and its like night and day trimmed 2secs off Tsukuba testing, but if it is arcade i will change it back to stock

If we run in arcade mode in time trial, it only keeps track of our fastest lap and does not have tire wear.

I think we should run it in arcade mode single race, set it to 20 laps, turn tear wear on(whether weak or strong is up to the moderator) and race against the computer AI cars in a neutral setting. This will make it more dynamic. Pit strategy comes into affect, as well as the drafting or avoiding other cars on the track.

i think if theres a way to run in gt mode with tire wear on, it will be better than arcade mode. IM hoping gt mode because you can setup your car, if you want realism than id do GT mode with tire wear if possible.

Dude, it's not possible to do Arcade Mode because you can't use garage cars, i've been trying to say that the whole time. All of these cars are not available in arcade mode.

They are if you buy them in GT mode. There are loads of cars that you need to buy to have them available in arcade mode. So start saving a few bucks.

Oh..and perhaps another idea how to run the races, though it would affect the schedule, it would make life a lot easier. Say round one is at Tokyo R246, than find a suitable race in GT Mode (ie Round 1 in the GT World Championship in Professional Mode.) That way there is still a decent amount of laps, pit strategy will come into play, and there will be oponents to make the race a bit more real. Even if you don't win the race in GT Mode (Most likely not in a race such as this) the whole time is still recorded much easier, and potentially would be much more exciting than doing practice laps on an empty track over and over again, trying to keep tabs on the lap times and pausing every second..think you guys might want to look into this, it's not the end of the world if you have to make a new schedule that doesnt follow a lousy poll with hardly any votes.

Calm down people! ok, sorry i haven't been online, because i, like may others here, have been engrossed with gt4, which is top class by the way!! anyway, there seems to be confusion as to if we are going to do the races in arcade mode or gt mode. which would you guys prefer. personally, i would choose arcade mode, since you use stock cars, you can set tire wear and fuel usage AND you can choose the number of laps. so what do you say?

But we wouldn't be able to change the setup? Or can you do it in quick tune?

I think it'd be more competitive in arcade (without being able to fine tune the car), but also less realistic... as long as my name appears on that list.... ( nitro!!! )

As stated in my previous post (#192) we should do it in Arcade. Although we can't fine tune our cars pit strategy comes into effect. Also, we're all driving race tuned cars. They are already built for racing. If we wanted to fine tune it then we should do 1 lap hot laps for best time.

I think they just count as separate times, but points are added together. Like guys running multiple cars in a single race.

I like the idea of racing in arcade mode better than GT mode. Like nitro said it gives everyone a fair playing field using stock and also some limited tuning in quick tune mode with tire selection and top speed gearing should make for some exciting racing since I'm getting some pretty decent times on Tsukuba at the moment with minor top speed tweaking.

Don't know if this has been asked but how is the points system going to be set up? Are there going to be extra points for fastest lap etc? And also will there be a drivers and constructors championship similar to Formula One? That would make things more interesting.
