Well, they want the advertisements to stick. By stick, they want it to ring to us. Unfortunately, what the ads will really stick to is either the wall or the other cars on the track. So no, not the brightest idea. But at least the wall will be rainbow by the end of the race.

Also not surprised they just reduced the field size for the trucks, they were barely getting 28 so it was asking a lot for 36
Barely getting???

# of entries per race (from):

Daytona 38
Martinsville (1st race) 37
Kansas 31
Charlotte 33
Dover 32
Texas 28
Gateway 32
Kentucky 32
Iowa 36
Eldora 34 (only 30 cars allowed for the race instead of the usual 36)
Pocono 32
Michigan 28
Bristol 38
MoSport (road course) 28
Chicago 32
Loudon 30
Vegas 30
Talladega 36
Martinsville (2) 37

There has been 3 of 19 races with 28 entries, that's less than races (4 bolded ones) with more than a full 36 trucks field.

It's another dumb rule if you ask me.

Meh.. motorsports.com. Nothing but opinion pieces and amateur work.
says the guy whose previous post was:

Newman penalty expected sometime later today. Will change the chase.

Jimmie's car for this weekend.

It's the "Red Vest" scheme to honor Lowe's 260,000 employees.
that's for the Texas race next week.

added the #48 Lowe's Red Vest that will run at Texas.(10-22-2014)

On the subject of paint schemes, here's Alex Bowman's ride for this weekend.

Dunno 'bout you, but I don't think martinsville is the best track to advertise paint, amirite? :sly:
apparently JJ Yeley will sport the same sponsor / paint scheme in the #83:

A 15 point penalty would have changed the chase.
No, it wouldn't have, since Newman made the cutoff by 27 points (3117 points to Kahne's 3090). :banghead:

In fact, Newman himself stated earlier he wasn't too worried since there never was a that big (read, 27 or more points) penalty.

Sucks at math, thinks his opinion is fact, can't read (added the #48 Lowe's Red Vest that will run at Texas...
Texas =/= Martinsville), you got more in store for us?

Maybe you should stop trying to pick apart my posts and do some research instead
"research" = you posting two inaccuracies regarding two different subjects (Newman's penalty and JJ's car) in the same page?

Picking apart people's posts is par for the course around here. Everyone is guilty of it. Everyone. NASCAR chat commence!
just noting the irony in someone commenting on people's opinion while giving one (who ends up being totally wrong) himself.

________

RFR pink attack for this week's Martinsville's race, Stenhouse's is OK, the rest are hideous, especially #16, three shades of pink?

Its actually been more? Ok then, I've been under the impression its been barely in the 30s going off the last few years.

Also, are we seriously still having this again? One person was wrong, one person was right. Just drop it already and move on.

it's ok to be wrong, we're all humans, why the attitude? I was just pointing out that changing the field from 36 to 32 Trucks had no real point. You've heard of this thing called constructive criticism?
Don't be mad at me, be mad at NASCAR for another stupid rule.

:( But I write for them!

Although then again that is an opinion piece..... and I am, in fact, an amateur currently...... You might be on to something
don't bother about GTporsche (see post 8222 and 8228), keep up the good work!

Where am I giving you attitude?

If you're reffering to the portion in regarding "Moving on", it was in response to this:

says the guy whose previous post was:

The guy is responding to someone else yet you just had to bring up an old post and for what reason? To shame him? That is what I'm talking by dropping it and moving on.

Oh, ok...

Not looking to shame anyone, just seems Ganon83 didn't read the posts. Considering GTPorsche said he's leaving and proved his opinion is often just that, an opinion, Ganon shouldn't look too much into GTP's quote, and keep up the good work.

Anyone has a better pic of the #99 Subway alternate ran by Edwards at Talladega (last week) seen below?10460537_10152980680538243_3071748977138412117_n.jpg

I still remember the day it happened, Johnson won Martinsville and there was no victory lane
I remember the end to the Martinsville race on that day like it was yesterday. I was eight years old, enjoying my first full season of NASCAR. It was Jimmie Johnson who had won the race, and even at my young age then, I could tell that there was something very wrong since the activities after the checkers weren't the same as in previous races. I can remember the special paint schemes ran by the drivers, with the tribute to the victims on the hood. I can't remember anything else about the remainder of the season, except for Kurt Busch's championship celebration, but 2004 was an emotional year in NASCAR for me. That started with Dale Jr winning the Daytona 500, Elliott Sadler's flip across the finish line in the fall Dega race, the plane crash, Kurt's championship. Some things I know that I won't ever forget about from the 2004 NASCAR Cup season, and the plane crash is second only to Dale's Daytona 500 win. And I know that I speak for everyone in this thread when I say that I hope such a catastrophic thing never happens again, and may the victims rest in peace.

Even though I absolutely hate Johnson, I'm pulling for everyone in the Hendrick stable now and everyone who has been in it to win this NSCS race this weekend, in honor of those who they lost.

Gordon wins, Kahne 2nd, Jr. 3rd, Johnson 4th & Tony 5th is my dream result for this weekend's race

Jr first to have a Hendrick driver when such a significant race for Hendrick, then to make up for last week.

I can read the last page and a half.
Really don't care about stuff like that. In a year and a half of doing this I've heard much worse.

Sorry boys, but the 11 o 18 is going to win Martinsville. Of course this is all speculative opinion but it could be a fact so I hope nobody picks apart my post to much. Actually, don't really care. Peace!<3

Same thing can be said for most any driver out there. Most hated drivers of all time. Go.

Kyle Busch, Kurt Busch, Robby Gordon, Harvick, Brad K. Who else?

Edit - Forgot to ad JPM to the list.

It's funny how a persona can change throughout the years. One day people will look at Kyle Busch as a nice guy lol
I think by 1989 a lot of people started to really look at DW and saw that he had become a legend, had buckets of charisma, and was a devout Christian who loved his family.
The two tipping points were his 500 win and the All Star wreck with Rusty ("I hope that boy chokes on that money"), both of which happened in 1989.
Kyle has been racing in cup for 9 years now. DW raced for 16 years in Cup before 1989. But DW also had won championships by this point in his career. Will opinion change? It always does. Will it anytime soon? Not likely.
By the way, number 2 of all time is Dale Earnhardt. He had a lot of fans, but a lot of other drivers fans, the fans of people he wrecked like Bill Elliott, Gordon, Waltrip etc far outnumbered Earnhardt fans
