The Swan deal this year is going to flop. I'd of gotten an experienced driver like Blaney in one of them rather than have 2 full time young guns. Not a slight on either driver, both are good but I don't see it going well.
RCR on occasion rents out the 33 for its younger drivers. That's why Austin has ran the 33 on occasion the last couple years. 99% chance Landon is in the 40 for Daytona if that is the case.

Ganassi is finally taking the "Earnhardt" out of the team name.

Although this part did throw me off.

However, considering how much the Earnhardt name means to NASCAR fans, we can probably figure some of them won’t be happy with this decision – even if it shouldn’t really affect the team all that much.

Fairly certain people had/have a problem with him using the name, not dropping it.

If I recall, it was a merger between DEI (which was partnered with Childress) and Ganassi.

Teresa Earnhardt just doesn't care about running DEI, so why keep the name. Should have dropped it when the merger happened.

On a semi related note, my Dad is a financial planner and to this day he uses DEI as an example of bad estate planning.

Penske Racing is now officially Team Penske.

And Steve Letarte is the 3rd man in the NBC booth, joining Rick Allen and Jeff Burton.

In 2015 not this year.

You have to think what money was probably involved, Dave does keep cars together and runs well but Cole does too. People don't ever give him enough credit for what he has done in underfunded rides. JRM kicked him to the curb way too fast for someone I think isn't as good as people think (Regan).

Wasn't NASCAR the only series it was called Penske Racing? As for Ganassi, I wonder if there was an agreement to keep the name for a set amount of time. Granted the 1 was a DEI car, but I would guess Chip has taken ownership outright. On Swan, this could either go really good, or implode by Bristol.

About damn time, there really was no point in having the name considering Teresa didn't care.

Interesting though that the Penske team changed its name, guess its more simple to just have Team Penske across the board.

It's been 13 years. 6 since an actual Earnhardt by blood was even involved with the organization. It's about time.
I already knew it anyway, I think they had released a diecast or a scheme that had just CGR with no mention of Earnhardt.

Watching testing and I just saw Rusty Wallace in the garage in a driving suit. Surely he's not coming out of retirement, is he?

He's driving the #2 in testing to commemorate the 25th anniversary of his Championship(which was in the #27 Kodiak car for a completely different team:odd:).

Dave Blaney:

Dillon fastest in #3. You can imagine reactions. Draft testing 7.45 you guys time.

Is that the Geico car from last year? That paint scheme looks very familiar.

Via Jayski...
Dave Blaney is reviving the #77 Ford for Sprint Cup team owner Randy Humphrey. It's expected to be a full-time ride for 2014. Blaney also raced a #77 Ford for Jasper Racing in 2002-2003. Veteran crew chief Peter Sospenzo will oversee the operation. "We dealt with each other at Front Row (Motorsports)," Blaney told FOX Sports. "I always liked him, but we never raced together before. Obviously, it helps that we'll have Doug Yates engines and picked up some really nice cars that Casey Mears drove before Germain switched to Chevys. So we're off to. Good start."(FoxSports), Humphrey and Sospenzo ran the #19 Toyota with Mike Bliss doing most of the driving in 2013.(1-8-2014)

Think they didn't have enough time to change the paint scheme.

Anyone else find it a little ironic how the last time Dave Blaney raced more than as a go-or-go-homer he drove a #77 Ford?

I'm a little disappointed seeing him go full time. I got to see him race his sprint car at my local dirt oval, and it was quite cool.
