Well now, looks like NBC wants to put Fox's NASCAR coverage to shame (even though they already put FS1's sports coverage to shame anyhow). Bring it on then 👍

Still, all of Sierra's PC games were better than those.

Sierra did make one console NASCAR game

I remember playing this like crazy. It was just as hardcore as any of their PC NASCAR titles of the time. No auto pitlane, full caution flag/pace car experience, a really nice damage model, and more. It was the first racing game I ever bought a wheel for. It was amazing. I can only hope consoles get another NASCAR experience like this. At the moment iRacing is probably the premier NASCAR game.

And NASCAR 96's intro. I always thought it was the coolest thing. Its the same as NASCAR 2 for the PC

Wow, that's a trip down memory lane! To this day I don't think I've seen another game that offered as many parameters to be adjusted as those games did. You could individually adjust each shock, spring, tire pressure, toe and camber, and whatnot. And each change you made had an actual effect on the car's behavior.

I also remember there were a ton of mods for Nascar 2, or maybe it was 4, I can't remember. 70's mod with the Superbirds, 80s mod with the Buicks and Oldsmobiles... even a BTCC mod, which replaced the tracks with road courses.

Over 1/3 of the total broadcast time in 2013 consisted of commercials.

Jayski.com
NASCAR Sprint Cup 2013 Season Commercial Statistics: The new NASCAR season is barely a pit stop away. Before the start of the 2014 season, here are some stats to peruse. These are the commercial statistics for the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup season, showing which network had the most ads, the least ads, and other interesting stats. These were culminated from my Commercial Breakdown Reports for the 2013 season. One thing that has remained consistent in the years CawsnJaws.com has provided these stats: the discomfort many NASCAR fans feel for the quantity and placement of commercials during races.
Total number of commercials per network:
Fox (14 races): 1668
TNT (6 races): 671
ESPN/ABC (17 races): 1992
SPEED (2 races): 166
Total for all networks: 4497
Total number of minutes of race broadcast to minutes of commercial times per network:
Fox (14 races): total: 3025 (race 2220 / commercial 805)
TNT (6 races): total: 1187 (race 861 / commercial 326)
ESPN/ABC (17 races): total: 3702 (race 2796 / commercial 906)
SPEED (2 races): total: 358 (race 280 / commercial 78)
Total for all networks: 8272 (race 6157 / commercial 2115)

They can make the racing the most exciting it's ever been and it won't make a difference as everyone that wants to watch will be too busy watching Viagra and Coors Light ads.:yuck:

The funny thing about those numbers is that TNT and FOX (They changed the outcome of the 600) were much worse at covering NASCAR then ESPN (Who even then puts its first run NASCAR show at 2am on a secondary network), and yet TNT looks like the best coverage wise and ESPN looks pretty bad.
In reality, only 2012 TNT was worse at covering races then 2013 TNT versus any other channel to ever cover full length NASCAR races.

So I just found a new show on NBC Sports Network Called "NASCAR's The List". I know its still 2014 but:

Some look better than others. Logano and Jr's schemes sure aren't pretty, but I kind of like Whitt's car. Of course under different lighting, my opinion may change. That simple Woods brother car is very nice, though.

I remember that game. I actually just found it and pulled it out. One of the best console NASCAR games.

Currently watching the 2013 Daytona 500 on Fox Sports 1. They are showing the pre-race show (awkward 50 cent encounter included) and the race itself.

Edit: And they even included the hilarious command to start engines from James Franco

Some Hendrick engines blowing up.

Also, ARCA race in 30ish minutes.

Labonte, Stewart and Patrick all had the bottom end(?) let go in practice runs for qualifying.

suspicion: oil or oil pressure qualifying tricks.

Holy crap, totally forgot the ARCA race is today.

Anyone got a Fantasy NASCAR League going? Whether its GTP based or NASCAR.com

Got a ÂŁ1 on Hamlin to win at 14/1 and each-way (1,2,3) at 3.8/1

We should just place predictions here. I'm calling as it so random the #20 of Kenseth.

So, the 10, 14 and 52, due to unapproved engine changes today, will start the Duels and the Daytona 500 from the rear of the field.

Seems rather excessive to double penalize those three teams.

Which effectively means qualifying means nothing for them tomorrow. Very stupid rule, why can't they just limit it for the Duels? They didn't even get to qualify.

Not sure why the rule is that way, but NASCAR wasn't thinking on that one.

With those 3 cars being locked in to the Daytona 500 starting grid, they don't even need to be in the duels since the only thing they'd be risking is getting wrecked.

Damn, if no one's gonna make one I guess I can run the 2014 Fantasy NASCAR (Don't expect prizes though ). I'll give it until Monday and if no one makes one I'll do it.
