Anyone up at Mosport this weekend come find me, I'm racing in my first pro race in the MX-5 Cup series in the Skip Barber class supporting the Tudor series.

I'll be there. Maybe not for the first race tomorrow (8:00am, yikes), but will be there for the second. I'll make sure to try to take some pictures. Good luck too!

I can't find any info on what happened with the Whelen DP.

Meyrick was treated at the track's medical center and released.

The only thing I could find relating to Said's accident is a tweet on IMSA's website. Either they're awaiting on his condition and are not talking about it until they get said update or they are not discussing it due to privacy. Out of these two guesses of mine, I think that the former is more viable than the latter.

UPDATE: Boris Said is awake and alert and is undergoing further evaluation at an area hospital.

Must have been a serious accident to do that much damage to a DP. Those things are quite stout cars. It's even better to know that Boris is responding at this time. I think he should be able to recover well based off of this update (at present).

Good to hear that Boris has been released. I was just reading about Memo's recovery yesterday. Tough one there.

In other news, the Delta wing withdraws after the fire. Not surprised since fire tends to make for one of the most expensive write-offs in motorsports.


Also, just read the Vipers have swept GTLM AND GTD. Great to see The Snake is in fighting form again

Honestly though, I think this was only to be expected. LMP2 cars have notes and this track suits them more. We'll see how traffic affects the actual race

I pretty much predicted from the beginning of the season that this track was gonna be heavily favoring the LMP2s. Lighter weight and downforce on a tight and twisty track always wins (Just ask Audi )

Oh yea, looking at the schedule, it was easy to tell who would have what where. Watkins Glen was the first track we got to see some real parity of speed and somewhat equal times since Sebring. For the remainder of the schedule, I predict DPs win at Indy, Road America, and COTA all favoring the DP with long straights and then Road Atlanta being a toss up

Nice to see the Viper Exchange GTD on pole. Also the GTLM Viper livery change to red must have given them a boost in power, they finished 2nd and 3rd last race and pole for tomorrow. Before that they were struggling a bit. Will be fun seeing them and Corvette battle, if I remember correct last year the Corvette barely held off the Viper to take the win there?

BMW got some weight added for the GTD car. BMW Z4 just doesn't have the winning pace. They're consistent, but they lack power.

Dalziel will be tough to beat when it comes down to it for ESM. Pla is good too though

From what I read, he was actually trading fast laps with Yacaman in Qualifying so I don't think he was anywhere near "Languishing".

They've had a lot of trouble this season. Multiple problems for both cars at Daytona. Lack of pace at Long Beach and Belle Isle. The 1 car had a gearbox failure at Laguna. Both cars had issues at The Glen. Hopefully, we'll see something out of them possibly this week as Oak has been the only LMP2 team to not have a lot of issues. That's why there aren't any more LMP2 teams higher in the Prototype points. Mazda is still slow, and ESM can't get it together

If it rains a GTLM will win the race overall,the Conti all-season rubber seems to be 20 sec per lap slower than the slicks compared to the 12 sec per for the Michelin.

Who funds the AXR team? $4 mil a year in budget isn't coming from the Powerball winnings.Is it a front like Tucker's outfit or are the drivers showing up with bags of cash?

Boris was hurt because the car didn't absorb the impact.
