Actually no... this whole season they keep making mistakes.

GTD...they're shouldn't have been anymore BoP...stop messing with a good thing! Turner won because they were the only ones who didn't screw up!

P...the Ford's are actually pretty close/equal to the LMP2's, but they were restricted in stead of the Corvettes? :odd: Like Marshall Pruet said, if the LMP2's were given a softer compound of tire, it would help get heat in and get them more equal with the fa...I mean heavier DP's. The DP's have won 5-1 over the LMP2's. Granted however, there are only two competitive LMP2 teams, and like 5 competitive DP teams. We need PARITY...can't have one doing better than the other that'd be boring. But they should seriously make a restriction to the Corvette DP's. Here's an interesting thought though, how would an LMP2 chassis do with the Chevy V8?

But as I and some other sane people said before, IMSA put on one heck of a race, they've finally got it. It took until race 6 of the season but they've finally gotten the art of running a good multi-class race. Now if we could just rid of LMPC. :dopey:
Well, considering the DP teams had years of notes compared to the LMP2 teams on The Glen, they should've been the favorites going in. Also, this is only the second true road course the series has run. On actual road courses LMP2 chassis has 1 win and the DP chassis has 1 win.

Anyone who thinks the BoP isn't damn good given what IMSA has to work with didn't watch the Sahlen's 6 (or didn't watch more than the last 10 minutes)

That Z4 is a little fast honestly from what I've seen.

I totally agree with dropping PC. It's in the way.

The Prototype class BoP is what everyone is mad about. I hope you guys never see what IMSA does to conti BoP. All of you would have a coronary

Just move LMPC down to Prototype Lites...maybe have LMP1 cars back for the North American Edurance Championship races. O_O (please please please please please please)

Well GTLM they've nailed, and I'm hoping the bigger rear wing on the GTD Aston will make TRG win some races. :D I just want the BMW and Aston to do well in that class. :dopey:

Guess it's a good thing I keep missing the Conti races then.

Okay yes, but anybody at this point should admit the V8's in P are over powering everything else. They should make one last change, then wait until next year. Hey hang on a minute, what ever happened to that hybrid looking LMP2/DP car that Riley (or was it Crawford? Or Coyote?) was making?

Cripes, they added 200 kg to the Conti GS Camaro post Sebring and no one said anything. Had that happened in P, John Dagys would've put his nose 4 feet up his bum with "articles." The LMPC/Lites and Conti races had good attendance in Kansas from talking to a couple of friends who are engineers for Conti teams.

LMP1 will never be back with TUSCC because money and grand am (rightfully so)

Troy Flis was interviewed on SportsCarUnleashed on Tuesday, and he said that the Corvette DP is way more developed than the Ford and the LMP2 packages right now. Chevy also really stepped up the team support on their engine program. That's why we see such an advantage. Give the other guys some time. We're going to see possibly 4 brand new HPD chassis next season with the Ligier at the end of this year. The Honda DP is making its return with Starworks later this year as well. All these new packages take time regardless of how good the team is (assuming the BoP is half decent like it is currently)

Coyote was working with AX on specific bodywork for their chassis. It's been pushed back so many times now, I doubt it'll happen anytime soon.

Why? How the hell did anyone enjoy that race when they hardly knew who most of the drivers were on a boring Roval?

Because contrary to popular belief, it doesn't matter where they race. It's how good of a show is put on. The majority of the people that would go to that race know nothing about driver ratings or BoP. They show up and see cars that come pretty much straight from the showroom onto the track performance wise. My race engineering friends leave their garage stalls open(as do all the conti teams because they're awesome) inviting the decent crowds into the garage to explain their car and interact with the fans. That's a great way to get people to watch. Lots of cars, great interactions, and good local marketing combined with a great show on the track leave people wanting it more whether it's shopping carts or F1 racing at a 4 turn roval or Le Mans. It proves yet again that the casual racing fan is what IMSA needs

Did someone say in this thread you can watch the Continental series race online? Id love to watch the Glen race.

Yea it will be up in a few days because the race broadcast is tomorrow at 10 am Eastern US time on FS1 :)

Not reffering to the Continental series itself (shouldn't have bolded that part in hindsight), I meant the PC class/lites race. I can't believe the attendance for that race was actually good.

For the fans there, they were probably ecstatic. They got 3 races for probably 1/2 the admission cost of what NASCAR is with all 3 races happening in 1 night. That's probably why the fans enjoyed the PC and Lites race. Also, I doubt too to many of them knew about how much of a problem they had been

Well good is relative, so it depends on what they were expecting and if it was reached, which may not be good as we see it or what Kansas sees it on a more usual basis with other series.

🤬 forgot it was on this morning, I got back from the gym and caught the last lap, what a finish. Good to see *SPOILER* Stevenson take it. I'll have to catch the full race on YT.

Or you could catch the reair of it tomarrow morning on FS1 at 9:00 AM CST.

Good to see Eversley taking the ST battle!

The word from Scot Elkins was "Disappointing" attendance. Same thing from Paul Gentilozzi.

They won't axe PC. People are actually able to run them as a business.
They DO need to require higher driving standards, however.

The Corvette DP is nowhere near as developed as the HPD or the Morgan, which are just Courage chassis with reworked bodies. More than 8 years of development.

The Corvette DP chassis for this year is the same chassis that have been run for 11 years now with different bodywork give/take the slight changes in the dome for the gen 3 update in 2011/2012...

Let's solve all of these problems and make this a straight FIA specification GTE, GT3, and GT4 multiclass championship. XD Should have had LMP, and DP in separate classes and left the DP's as wannabe old GT1 cars...

IMSA says that would be too easy.

Somebody doesn't like LMP2 cars apparently.

I still think that the GTD class should be pure FIA spec GT3 cars, would allow the teams to run anywhere in the world if they wanted, and you wouldn't need to modify the car in any way...plus the manufacturers could easily support teams in the class in the series. Instead of needing a special kit.

But that would hurt the Rolex GT teams who... all bought a new car for this year anyway...

I agree completely.

Which is exactly what they can do now. Perfect Example: Turner Motorsports.

In the GTD Specs:

In World Challenge Spec:

And that is the exact same car, no "Special kit" required. All that was done was a simple bolt on/bolt off , which still allows GT3 cars to race in the series.

Don't they need to restrict the cars power down though? Forgot it was mainly the wing though. :dunce:

Can we at least not have them down tuned to Porsche Cup car spec? :grumpy:

Pretty much the only difference between the specs is the wing and restrictors (which everyone has anyway so its not limited to IMSA). Apart from that, its still the same car and that's the only work needed to convert the car to either specification.

Can we at least not have them down tuned to Porsche Cup car spec?

They aren't restricted to the pace of Porsche Cup cars, they are actually much faster.

Alright I stand corrected then 👍 ...however why did Porsche create the 911 GT America and not just sell the slightly older 911 GT3 RSR's?

Because they wouldn't. There was no 991 GT3 car yet, and they didn't want people having old stuff
