If it rains a GTLM will win the race overall,the Conti all-season rubber seems to be 20 sec per lap slower than the slicks compared to the 12 sec per for the Michelin.

If you are going by the 6 laps for warm up this AM I would not bet much money on it.
Anything is possible, though.

According to this from the article, the car did absorb some of the impact.

While the car didn't sustain chassis damage, Marsh said the impact broke the engine mount, which then buckled into the firewall, where the fuel cell is located. A seat mount also broke, while the steering wheel was bent.

Those parts are bent from the impact.

I would believe Boris was hurt because he backed into a wall of some sort.
He could of been hurt more or less due to many factors, including a rigid roll cage that could of as easily been what saved his life in this accident.

Pretty status quo for DP racing lol. Heck, A.J. Dinger and McNish tried to smash each other going 180 in NASCAR turn 2 at Daytona with 2 hours to go for the lead

That was probably 150-160 mph hit. That DP help up very well.

Because that was not for position. The 56 was going a lap down and drove the leader into the grass. Big difference between a fight for a position
