I liked the racing under green flag conditions and I'm a little bit excited for next year when this will be an endurance race.

Some of the incidents were pretty stupid, this needs to change ._.

Looking at highlights, I'd have to agree. Elbows-out racing is nothing new in IMSA, but imo the quality of driving on display was pretty poor, which was only made worse by the multiple Full-Course Yellows during the race. Tandy's block on the #10 Cadillac in particular was very poor form.

But hey, BMW finally won a race in GTP, and a 1-2 at that. Granted, this should've been at least their 3rd win of the season, but I'll take what I can get, especially with their partnership with RLL coming to an end.

I think the GTDs (both Pro and Am) in particular were ridiculous today. The 27 Aston Martin vs the 57 AMG tussle in 5-6-7 was juvenile and has no place in serious racing, and the "pass" from the 021 Ferrari on the DXDT 36 Corvette in T6 with minutes to go was atrocious and deserved a penalty. But hey, Verstappen's been racing like this since he got in F1 and the FIA doesn't eally care, so why should IMSA?

Unlikely as it is, it would be awesome if they could get at least a Top-5 in either Indy or Road Atlanta. The SC63 showed some signs of competitiveness at Watkins Glen, so it'd be great if the car had something solid to show for it.

After reading this article youtube started to recommend me fia wec 2019 races. A total of 5 Lmp1 cars in the 8h bahrain race. Really sad... It sucks when manufacturers leaves the top category (and yes this includes for me vanwall, glickenhaus, isotta fraschini in the wec) ._.

Due to being out of town I just got around to watching the Road America replay last weekend. That was just ridiculously bad driving from a lot of people. Now coming to a GT only event at VIR I'm hoping drivers aren't going to go in looking to settle some scores from Road America especially if they are out of the championship picture.

Bryan Herta Autosport has announced it will step up to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship with a full-time LMP2 program in 2026.

Between this, BHA recently acquiring a new HQ in Brownsburg, Indiana to prepare themselves for "future racing initiatives," and the teams long-standing relationship with Hyundai in the Michelin Pilot Challenge Series, I'd say these are pretty big hints towards BHA headlining Genesis' GTP Program in 2027.

So Proton Competition will be absent from GTP at Indy due to the chassis damage their 963 suffered at Watkins Glen, and it's sounding like they'll be absent from Road Atlanta, too. Iron Dames and their lovely Sticky Note Porsche will also be absent in the GTD Class. It's unknown if that's due to the apparent financial troubles that Deborah Meyer, and by extension Prema & Iron Lynx/Dames have recently been facing.

On the flipside, Porsche Factory Driver Nico Mueller will find himself in the Iron Banana, replacing Tijmen van der Helm in the JDC-Miller 963. This'll also be Logan Sargeants first race in IMSA with PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports in LMP2, so it'll be exciting to see how his return to top-level racing goes. It was reported last week that PR1 will join forces with Bryan Herta Autosport in their 2026 LMP2 campaign, so in really a roundabout way, Seargent may potentially find his way back on the Genesis GTP/Hypercar program. 75Express and the SunEnergy1 AMG-GT3 will also be present in the GTD Pro class.
