Thanks @GIBBONS, looks good. I'm going to need to open up the start/finish area a bit. Some of the objects to the left and right as well as the start/finish gate create a space too narrow for the AI. I'll probably pull into Blender and see what can be done without changing the spirit of the track too much.

@Popeye, negative. Wipers are not functional on that car.
Cheers buddy.

A little funny car Updated by me :D

13000 rpm / 360 km/h

I get that. VR users don't need these up/down/left/right/back settings and if it improves performance it's a no brainer.
But additional to the horizon lock I also need these. Assigning them over and over on every startup is something I rather don't need to do.

Try hitting enter after you adjust the slider. My settings seem to be staying after that. I think I read that somewhere, and it doesn't make sense in the UI, but....

Thought I'd pick your collective minds as there seems to be infinite knowledge of tracks here

My online bunch want to do another GT3 Championship but I'm sick to death of the European normal suspect tracks and we not long ago did a Radical series in the US/Canada. I guess there must be GT3(esque) championships in other continents (South America/Australasia/Asia perhaps?) so wondered if anyone knew, or has run, a series with a bunch of tracks that are downloadable for AC?
Intercontinental GT Challenge: https://www.intercontinentalgtchallenge.com/calendar
Blancpain GT Asia: https://www.gt-world-challenge-asia.com/calendar?filter_season_id=3

All the tracks are available for AC from the usual suspects: Race Department, GT Planet (search), f1classic forum (get it while it's still alive).

Zandvoort 2020 pit fixed from Tarutali

The pitboxes work Ok, but for some the red box doesn't show where you have to stop for some pitboxes (not all). If you stop in the right place it still works but if you're not sure where then it's guesswork. Anybody know what causes this? The only thing I can see in 3dSimEd is that apart from the first two boxes, the rest are far higher for some reason, but I'm unsure if this would have this effect.

1990 McLaren MP4/5B released by ASR Formula. Download version 1.0 now or wait 2 weeks for the inevitable version 1.2. :sly:
(They also update a bunch of their previously released cars.)

Awesome. I noticed the update alerts in CM. I think I read somewhere ASR wants us to completely remove the old versions before updating. I was hoping I could just do the update via CM. Did you update yet @OooAhh Cantona , any issues?

I have not updated the 1991 F1 cars yet. When I do, I’ll do it the old fashioned way. For me, that is much faster than updating via CM. And I do completely remove the previous version.

Question to moders who were involved in track conversion from Papyrus games - GPL, Nascar Racing ...
Have you tried opening a .dat file from Iraсing?
There is an old offline version of Iracing 2008. Tracks in it occupy a small ~ 60mb, but these are accurate laserscanned tracks.
File structure is the same as in earlier Papyrus games - for example - Nascar Racing 2003. Inside .dat files: .3do and .mip. Theoretically, they can be opened in 3dsimed. However, after extracting .dat - .3do files turn out to be empty - they have 0kb.
Does anyone have a 3Dsimed developer contact to write him a question about this?
I tried to write him the letter indicated on the support site, but it is not sent, because the address is incorrect ...
If we could open these old files, then perhaps we would get some more tracks, accurate tracks for the AC

Cheers, I was wondering about something more obscure. I like to run championships with tracks that people possibly have never driven before - tends to even up the field more!
If you’re just looking for variety, you can create a custom fantasy championship for your online racing group. Not necessary to copy an official race series.

Yes for sure, but not all tracks suit GT3 cars and without spending hours driving them all I wouldn't know. I'm just trying to cut some corners and wondered if anyone had done something similar before reinventing the wheel!

For this reason I've tagged all FIA graded tracks in my collection, I believe anything Grade 3 or higher is suitable for GT3 racing.

Grade 3:

Grade 2:

Grade 1 circuits are probably too familiar as they're almost all famous circuits used in F1 or Moto GP and the like. Some of the above are pretty nice tracks and very rarely in games like Forza/GT.

Moscow Raceway
Added second layout
Added new cams

Have Fun.

Great update, to add the other layout...

but geesh, those bright bleachers are really distracting and detract from the experience. I know the real bleachers have all those multi-color seats, but If they could just be "toned down" or something in the mod. I know that's the way they've been since earlier versions.

Of course it still needs a lot of "love" overall (new textures, higher quality visible road and kerbs, and road mesh, grassfx, etc.), but with its' layout and elevation changes, bring up to "today's standards," and I think it could be a really great track for AC.

A springtime skin with all those track side flowers, now that would be a nice option.

Could be related to scale parameter because I just checked and it's not correctly setted. I will redo it later.

Finally, got my own Audi RS3 TCR painted! I missed the good ol' painting days! Let me know what you think (model is from Rollovers.it TCR v1.1 mod).

If anyone's interested, I can upload it here for everyone's grabs! It comes with custom helmet, suit, etc... Full pack!

Don't happen to have a link for the showroom do you? Been trying to find that one for ages. Nice work, looks amazing btw.

Brilliant, seems a good selection of Australian tracks there too. I'll see if I can find a good mix of them that have 24+ pitboxes. Thanks

interesting post on kunos forum in the chit chat.

"Sim Dream Development (or Sim Dream for short) is a modding group who sell mods on their website assettocorsamodding.net. These mods are more often than not stolen, low-quality, and often ripped completely from other games and creators without permission. I'm pretty sure that selling content without the permission of the original creator is not only wrong but illegal, although I'm not 100% sure on the laws around this.

The community have known about them for years and afaik there was one attempt to shut them down after a mod creator complained. They changed their website name to assettocorsamodding.net (which was smart as it likely drives up traffic to their site) and have continued selling low-effort mods to unsuspecting racers. The mods on their website look good at first glance, but are cheap conversions from rFactor and Forza, with very little work done on the physics of the cars and how they drive in general. They're charging users $7-10 for each mod which is simply not worth it and I doubt that they have contacted the original creator before doing this.

I'm making this post because Sim Dream have now taken steps to falsely copyright strike other mod makers and content creators to take down their original content. A friend of mine recently received a copyright strike on YT for a mod review video that he had made which featured the GPL 1500cc mod by Bazza. This copyright strike was made by Sim Dream. His review fell under fair use but was still removed. Sim Dream's website lists the "Assetto Corsa Classic Competition Mod" which features several cars that have been taken directly from Bazza's GPL 1500cc mod without his permission. I'm not sure why they striked that video but I find it incredibly hypocritical that they did this considering that they steal content.

A few days later Sim Dream striked Bazza's mod that he was hosting on Mediafire and the file was removed. So, not only did they steal his mods but they've also taken action to remove Bazza's mods and claim they have the copyrights to them. I'm not sure how or why this is allowed to happen but it's totally wrong.

I'm hoping that this post exposes some of the wrongdoing of Sim Dream and creates a discussion on how we can stop them from profitting of the works of others. I wouldn't mind if they simply converted old mods from other games for free but they are actively making money and being di*** in the process. Let me know if you've had any negative experiences with their mods or services and hopefully something can be done.

TLDR: Sim Dream steal mods from others and create low-quality ripped versions that they then sell without permission from the original creators. They have recently abused the copyright system to issue false copyright claims on YT and against mod creators."
