Assetto Corsa PC Mods General DiscussionPC

[Mikke73]

I wrote before and I tell you again that the skins FIT BOTH CARS I have installed, i.e. the SDD car and the one posted recently by Cozy61.

And while I don't know if Chivas (I don't even know a Chivas' version of this car) made the car from scratch or not, IT IS the exact same as the one I posted (SimDream), bar some improvements made by Delpinski.
So they either used the same model, or someone stole from someone.

Just my two cents: I have both the Chivas FT-1 and the one Cozy61 posted, and they definitely are a completely different model.

Hi friends.

Can any of you please advise me on what can cause these crazy lines all over the car? It's very frustrating. I found that if I have CSP 0.1.71 installed, the lines on the car are not. All CSPs from 0.1.72 to 0.1.76 make these lines on the car. I've highlighted just a few of them to let you know what to focus on. Resolution is not much. Can it be set somewhere so that it is not visible?

Thank you to everyone who can help me with this, gentlemen.

I only said that the Cozy61 posted and the SDD/Delpinsky are the same. I also stated that I don’t have or know the so called Chivas version, which BTW should be clear from my post you quoted.

These "crazy lines" you mention are from the HBAO i think, try to change the method to ssao

Your quote contradicts itself quite a bit, so it wasn't at all clear what you mean. If you read it, it says you don't know a Chivas version, but after that you say it is the same model.
My apologies, I didn't know which part of that I should take seriously.

EDIT: Or maybe you accidentally wrote Chivas, which would actually make sense.

[Real Toonces]

ive since spoken to easy and he wants to make his site more like assettoland aka a site for hosting everything which can only benefit all.

fair points raised from everyone which have certainly changed my perspective about modding.

Like to hear that directly from --EASY--

This was mine! The game (presented in glorious green and red on a black background) was displayed on that little screen on the right.

Yes! I had the same one. Proper blast from the past.

Finally doing a little test with the 1970's cars. Seemingly little else to do, except the texture of Surtees' car...and trying to convert the De Tomaso/Williams...

[sab001]

So, which version of Porsche 924 GTP is most complete and up-to-date? There are versions by EASY, fixed by Masscot, new data by Riky_Sim. There is some confusion with this. %)

I'm going with the Riky Sim, but with the previous gear ratios...

I don't think anyone knows, been known for a while and everyone seems to get it on different csp versions and settings

I see people complain about this quite often and as @UolterUait states, I don't think anyone can give a definitive answer. A recent issue was closed over on github stating "I'll close the issue because it's not a CSP bug. To solve this, you need to disable double shadow". I have seen this happen myself with double face shadows but it is certainly not limited to that:

Shadow map filtering exhibits backfacing · Issue #197 · ac-custom-shaders-patch/acc-extension-config

for a while now, there has been an issue with shadows which causes them to have stripes in them. It is very dependent on the sun angle to the object that shows the stripes. Open wheel cars show it ...

I thought I'd fixed this recently by going into the nvidia control panel and setting Texture Filtering - Negative LOD bias to "clamp" - it seemed to work for about a month or so and then those bloody lines have come back again.
I have given up worrying about it as i can only see them under certain lighting angles and time of day. But it does make taking preview images of skins difficult sometimes.

It´s caused by smart shadows. Disabling it = less artifacts.

And I don't see why it is so hard to understand, nor where there's a cotradiction in what I wrote.
Again, and this will be my last response about all this, I stated that I have:

• the SDD, version that was updated by Delpinsky
• the version posted by Cozy (that has no info about author or version).

Both have the same file name.
That's it.

I have no Chivas version and I don't know the Chivas version, so I can't comment over them being the same or not.
I said that both versions I have (see above) are the same (apart from updates) and that the skins match both cars.

No smart shadows, or anything mentioned above (tried @MrB00's suggestion also). Surface is not double faced and doesn't have double faced shadows enabled, yet if you hit a certain time of day it looks like this:

I gave up trying to find a solution quite a while ago, but now and again it can be quite annoying depending on track and of course time of day. Looks even worse in VR. This is also not limited to mod tracks, Kunos tracks do it too.

[Marneus_boss]

I'm going with the Riky Sim, but with the previous gear ratios...

This is what assetto corsa desperately lack...and what Assettoland tried to gather.

A common place for common mods for all of us.

Oh man... ... easy is upset with someone who bought his zandvoort to share it on a well known AC sharing website...
btw he is sharing his stuff there now.

View attachment 1112794

he uses the forum to share his links but gets upset when someone shares "his" track.

Nuff said.

That is hilarious! As far as I am aware, that is the whole point of cs.rin- to post paid mods for free.

Indeed, and as we know the pure and csp previews get posted there on that forum....
So yeah, not sure people realize he talks to Ilija and Peter...

The car has carry over physics from the 911 RSR from Kunos, so totally opposite thnak it should be.

• Engine moved in the front, fuel tank in the back.
• Corrected wheels
• re-tuned aero
• re-tuned engine (wasn't that powerfull) now well balanced to race with the ACL pack and the 240z from Geroda.
• re-tuned suspension
• amended setup settings
• amended gear ratios
• etc.

I hope you like it.

Needs a proper turbo sound!

Thank you,
Concerning sound, when I try to replace sound (with content manager feature) by another sound from a turbo car, sound of engine is changed, but I haven't any sound of turbo.

Maybe there is a file with settings for sound of turbo ?

(I tried it for this 924GTP but I have the same issue with other cars ...)

Does anybody know how to fix the glitch when the driver teleports himself outside of the car facing the door inward, it's kinda distacting even though very brief. It doesn't show on the replay so I cannot capture any screen.

For me it happens with this car https://sharemods.com/yg9lonmkdopx/GrA_Mitsubishi_Lancer_EVO_VI.7z.html
from https://assettorallygrb.wixsite.com/rallygrb/gra

It's really cool to take a slowish JDM such as latest updated version of Kilin's GR86 or BRZ and do a one-on-one battle with the Lancer at Jim Lloyd's Joux Plane.
Hence I'd be very grateful if somebody could help me to get rid of that glitch please!

[HuibVDN]

Has any of you come across this weird skidding issue with CSP extended physics?
The cars also seems to start bouncing around a lot more when extended physics are enabled.

Once more with a completely standard Kunos car with extended physics enabled:

For comparison, without extended physics enabled, a nice spin without weird skidding all over the place:

During all three spins the brakes were completely locked all the time. Does anyone have an idea as to what this might cause this and how to resolve it?

[Jodurson]

Is there a method to load ballons from this extension for Imola not only in separate layout? Maybe somehow via ext_config.ini?

[Aaron Green]

100%!
I've got their Renault RE30, their Williams FW15C and their McLaren MP4/5. Works of art! Especially the sound is spot on!
I've got a couple of different McLaren MP4/5, but theirs is my favorite.

I've watched several of their videos online, apparently it's a lot of old RF rips and not done to a particularly high standard? Oh well. I might buy one, just to test the water. Thanks for the input though.

What happens when you increase the shadow resolution? I cured flickering shaddows in VR today by increasing shadow resolution to 2048.

I've already tried that in the past, I wish it was something as simple as that but it seems it can be different for lots of people. The screenshot was 2048 shadow resolution. I just tested 8k and it isn't much better. Thanks for the suggestion though.

[SoulMaTriX]

Where is the extended physics settings in Content Manager? Is it the physics tweaks on the General Patch Settings page? Thanks.

The Crash mod, 2019 Porsche 911, is on a roller coaster on RT's Sebring to the point of undriveable due to all the bumps. I had a good laugh.

I am not sure why this is a problem for anyone. It doesn't cost us a cent to download from sharemods. If we don't like what we download we can just bin it. Why should someone not make a very small profit from using that host? None of this is an endorsement or otherwise of Easy's approach to "improving" a bit and claiming the mods as ACTK.

The issue is simply that if anyone should be profiting from the mods it should be the people that created the mods, not someone that made a barely functioning forum (look at how badly he tried to take down Assettoland, only to emulate it as he wasn't able to make his own version that worked better).

It's more the second point in your post where the issue lies. Claiming the mods as his own and not crediting the original author is the problem. Being responsible for the closure of (his apparent rival) Assettoland hasn't helped his cause.

Anyway, I think I've made my feelings clear about his ethics, so I'll be avoiding this subject in the future. He has lived rent-free in my head for long enough!

^ Pretty much exactly how I feel right here

i use sharemods too, just because it was the fast and less boring one where storing my updates without asking too much, but i don't gain a penny from it

I've got nothing wrong with the site, just not into Easy profiting off of other peoples work. If his platform is great, I don't mind him taking a cut of the profits - say 5% - but not 100%. The profits may be little, but that doesn't change how scummy it is overall.

[Fullnoise]

Hi
Would anyone kindly know which version is better for Le Mans? Thank you very much in advance

There are 2 very good ones. The FM7 version and the Reboot 2017 version.
It gets down to personal preference.
If you want a more modern up to date track with safety lights etc then the FM7 track is your best option.
However the 2017 track has more of an earlier feel depending on the era you are racing. The AI line is not the best and could be improved particularly through the porsche curves.

My take on this...
Encrypting mods is bad for the community as the end user will not be able to make the necessary adjustments, for example to suit his wheel controller for one. let alone shader preferences etc etc.
If what Easy is doing doesn't sit well then the community should not download from him. This will be the only way to send a message that it is not ok to use some else's work without making major changes and the giving appropriate credits/approvals.

[Alex Porter]

Silly question, but is there any way to make the AI drivers skill higher than 100%? I am using the 1973 F1 mod and even at full skill and aggression but they are hopeless and I can beat them easily..
