sol 2.2
csp 1.77 preview 1
default ppfilter

first picture is with sol on
second picture is with sol off
I think the clouds look so much better in second
what am i doing wrong?

Probably nothing. The default weather and Sol handle clouds completely differently. I'm not even sure they use the same cloud textures\settings, etc. So it's nothing you are doing wrong. It's just 2 different takes on how clouds are displayed. Someone can correct me if i'm wrong about this.

Look better is relative. Some people prefer the stock weather to Sol. I'm not one of them, but some do. When you pick your cloud type under 'Weather' in Content Manager, are you choosing one of the Sol cloud options?

Hi guys, just got the Honda touring car posted by Macedo today. I'm a total noob, so can someone help me? why does the car look like that and how do I fix it? It's the same on track too, i'm running csp 1.77.

Hello guy's,
I need someone for transforming SPA 03 GT to SPA 03 F1 and if it's possible to remove those white bareer's for replacing it by classic rail and make this amazing track more beautifull texture with sponsor of 97 00 era ?

it's for my personnal use, and i 'm loving so much this old chicane!!

here the track link : https://mega.nz/file/GCwTBb4J#6AdVMlqGLkNqF8pmehdZJfIbs3cBw6bMKemrb4gAUak

And big thx if it's possible i m wanted this layout track since RF1^^

oh hai

1. in 2003 there was no F1 race at Spa
2. I am currently updating the track for all F1/24h/GT 1999-2005 layouts meeting historical accuracy
3. You have posted an unofficial link to my mod.
4. Official link: https://sharemods.com/2ap1zq2nmgd5/rmi_gtr2_spa2003_-_v1.20.zip.html

It may not look better but more realistic?

What is up with these mods that make it so that if you choose to have ABS on, the brakes are basically useless?
I've seen it quite on quite a number of mods and it drives me nuts every time.

Because most of these 'physics experts' have never driven a car IRL ? Must be it. Reminds me of Arch's atrocious NSX physics (yeah, the one on RD).

I had one some years ago (1995 spec, formula red) and it wasn't as **** as the AC mod we have.

The car is encrypted, that´s why you see this kind of preview, assuming you tried to make own previews within CM. You only can re-install it again to have the original previews back.

Check SOL config app, "clouds render method", put the slider from 2 to 0.

[Arthur Figgis]

I can only speak for myself, but I'd be reluctant to share out of fear of being slammed by the guy who spent years driving the real thing, or by the guy who spent months 'perfecting' his view of how the car should be when he (or she I suppose) created the mod.

I'm reluctant to add any more fuel to this discussion but I think I'll just rest my case here and walk away. This is why I personally don't have any desire to share physics updates. Too many experts ready to rain fire on anything they don't deem worthy.

No offense at all to StoffelWaffle who I'm sure knows a lot more about car physics than I ever will, but that post really does illustrate my position rather nicely.

Thank you.

Remember to save your config on page 1 of the app, otherwise you will start with 3D clouds again next time.

I seldom rain fire when it comes to physics but whenever Arch is involved... The guy thinks he's the God almighty of AC physics and he fumbled the bag with the NSX, which is utter toss. You'd think De Cesaris, not Senna, was involved in the road testing of that version lol.

Being a bit of a pretentious arse doesn't help.

Looking forward to seeing how well 2D clouds work with Pure, as they're by far my preferred option with Sol. Maybe it's a VR thing but to my eye they look so much natural than the 3D clouds do.

[GaryUK]

I appreciate the interest in Bryar. I'd like to implement fixes and improvements that people can suggest, as long as they'll provide some coaching 👍. I'm quite green on modelling; Bryar is my first effort/track. I put a tremendous amount of effort into it as the place had real meaning for me (as a kid)

Someone had mentioned the treewall - that it had an issue where a small line or "ghost" of the image texture appears floating at the top of the treewall. I agree, and it's driving me crazy as I can't fix it. The UV islands are fully-aligned with the image texture so I don't know what's going wrong. Two photos, one shows the UV map of long section of treewall; the other photo shows a single UV face/island from the far-end of the treewall, which I've moved left to show that it is aligned with the image texture.

Any suggestions on fixing this issue appreciated.
And any other fixes and improvements as well.

[CrisT86]

Welcome on GTP @GaryUK

The thing about the ghost line is probably due to the dds itself which may have a mask not well defined for the transparency

I think the problem is one of 'hyperrealism', i.e. so focused on realism that the result is actually an exaggeration of reality. You see it with visual mods where the contrast between lights and darks is starker than a 40s noir movie and in physics by cars that wildly oversteer at 20mph.

[MrEarthling]

It's a shame that more and more mods are being encrypted. I enjoy taking photos in the showrooms. Because of the encryption all I see is blue crystals. What an annoyance.

the small fps gain too is just another benefit. if the 2d clouds had lightning id see no need for the 3d clouds at all

they work very well but I still like 3d clouds personally.

Hi guys, sorry to bother you, do you know if there are any additional TV cams for the Canada 2021 circuit? Thank you for your kind answers.

I really like this one, not to mean I didn't like your other ones. You've been killing it lately.

You don't have the latest version of Pure? Don't know why I thought I saw you on his Discord before and figured you'd be all over the that new 2D cloud option. For the record, the 2D clouds look really good. Better variety than the 3D ones I think. Only thing I don't like is they require a newer version of CSP than the one I prefer that has less bugs in it. So for now, i'm still using 3D clouds with Pure.

This is one aspect of the situation. You know, we don't drive some cars but at least it's easy to understand that stop lights don't burn corneas 😂. But anyway, physics is (and it will always be) the dark side of sim racing.
