Thanks for converting and sharing. Just a suggestion if possible to use trees from Bathurst as this track had all Australian typical vegetation especially gum trees.
I drove this track many times and attended many race meetings there.

Love that wet look. No matter what I do, and try following the instructions from SOL, I cant get the weather to show, the clouds come in, the wiper automatically goes on, the grip level is reduced, but still looks like a cloudy by dry day.

Have you downloaded any rainfx extensions for the tracks?

the track I tried was Timaru that was recently released. Wet effects were shown in the release post, so I assume already included.

are you running the CSP preview from Ilya's patreon?

no idea what that is, so i'd say no. I installed the SOL thing, thinking that was what was required.

Didn't see the Spa 24 hr winning livery anywhere yet, so I took a stab at it, not 100%, but a decent representation.

You need a preview version of CSP in order for RainFX to work.

Damn this is getting so confusing. getting ready to throw this sim in the recycle bin
I have CSP 0.1.78 installed. But now I need something else? I followed the instructions in SOL.
Am nearly over it.

The custom shaders patch in content manager doesn't contain rainfx. If you search up 'Assetto Corsa RainFX' you'll find plenty of videos on it most with links to the patreon of the creator of CSP, which has the newest versions of CSP. These are designated 'preview' versions and contain the rain itself.

Sometimes it would be incredible helpful just following the rules of RTP: Read -> Think -> Post

is everything always in video? I don't tend to watch videos because i cant have sound on in the living room, would rather read a text document, far easier for this old guy to follow. Am trying to get this all setup on my laptop, so when i get a game PC setup with a sim rig, I can get the thing working properly

wow, thanks for being a smart arse, you could have just said i missed something, but clearly I did, I already thought I had it, but clearly not. Thanks for the help, even though your arrogance was unnecessary.

Paid, installed the latest 1.79 file, still doesnt work.

Catrini - Sortino SP60S Rally Italy - rain and grass and vao and so on...

Track can be found here: https://assettorallygrb.wixsite.com/rallygrb/italy

• You should be able to copy the files straight into you assetto corsa folder as long as you have the track installed. It will ask to override - backup your track if you want to keep the original files.
•

• If the new grass still won't show check your assetto corsa folder: extension/textures/grass_fx. You should have a "highlands.dds" file in there, otherwise no grassFX.

Don't think there's a real rally going on on the strada provinciale so I declared it as fictional track.
It's quite a high speed stage, broken up with a few chicanes.
Visually there's not much to improve the original look, it's Sicily so the ground is burnt by the sun,
lush green grass would not help much here.

Sarcasm isnt smtg you're aware of, arent you. Its literally written everywhere, even in the installation manual of Sol/Pure. So no need to insult people who are just pointing out the obvious.

I've expeted more from somebody my age, but hey, you cant have everything in these days.

Tried headphones?
Lots of useful CM/CSP/Sol/Pure/RainFX tutorials are in video form, and show what to do (and what results to expect) in real time.

Hi Warren, the installation instructions in the PDF that comes with SOL cover pretty much everything you need to do to get rain working. You should have SOL 2.2 and 0.1.79-preview5 (patreon.com/x4fab) installed with SOL being set as controller and
weather script (unless you're using PURE) in the Custom Shaders Patch > Weather FX settings in CM. Uninstalling any old SOL version before updating is mandatory btw. - SOL comes with an uninstaller script. If it still doesn't work, please post some screenshots of your CSP settings and the in game SOL weather planner app.

Restart your PC, I've had issues installing CSP previews in the past. Hell, I went months without dirtFX thinking he broke something again but it turns out CSP installer is flakey AF. It may even require a re-install which won't work because it "thinks" its already installed so you have to uninstall first. It really is a faff but persevere as it really is a game changer IMO.

thanks for that. Laptop gets shutdown and restarted, have tried CSP 1.78 as per the manual, tried installing 1.179, but doesnt work. Sol 2.2 is red in the selector.

[Lernatix]

I cant remember if there's an unistall button or if you have to click the three little dots ... next to each version in the list of available versions.

Uninstall the one you have currently in the list until none are selected, restart content manager, drag/drop patreon preview version zip into Content manager and then click the top right menu to install if its not done automagically.

Huge improvement.

I've noticed a couple of things;
The grass edges (next to the track) seem to be the original colour and are much lighter than the rest of the grass. Also, the mountains in the background appear very pale.
It would be great if these two things could be improved.

You need 0.1.79-preview5 for rain to work. You need the preview builds not the common ones. If you paid you should be able to download it from patreon page, else try searching a bit around - not here

And yes Timaru has rain fx configured

downloaded 1.79, installed through CM, doesn't show 1.79. Thought I'd ask here since this is a more active forum and figured perhaps others have had similar issues and could help. I appreciate your help though, unlike some of the others
